Sid was my absolute no.1 favourite 'Carry on' actor when I was a boy and one year we were in Great Yarmouth for our summer hols and, to my great delight, Sid was doing the summer-season at the 'Windmill Theatre' - I can't remember the play but I do remember laughing outrageously from start to finish !. But THE major highlight of that holiday for me, was a charity football-match was played and Sid appeared, driving around the pitch in a blue dune-buggy - I made my mind up that no fence was going to stop me so I climbed over and ran over to him just to shake his hand !. He was lovely, he shook my hand, ruffled my hair and then told me I'd better get back as he could tell my mum was furious at my outrageous display of breaking the rules - I was 7 !. It's still one of my favourite childhood memories - thanks Sid !
Excellent comic actor. I'm currently watching a re-run of 'Bless This House' -- perfect timing, perfect delivery, and no airs and graces. Britain lost a great comic actor when he died. RIP Sid.
I love his laugh 😂
In the 70s my brother met Sid whilst buying his school uniform. Legend
Loved them him when I was 10, when I was 15, grew out of him at 20, then at 27 started watching him again and now at almost 50 he is still someone I watch and he always and still makes me laugh...
I imagine that God is laughing everyday!!
Great actor he made me laugh he also made my late mother and dad laugh we were all huge fans of his. We loved Carry on movies and Bless this house.
all these great gone :(
It is a great shame to say how popular he was he did not do any interviews he was in everything back then he also did lots of voice overs tv radio theatre the other day i saw him in a budgie programme taking about how to keep a budgie what a legend i have laughed many hours watching Sid james what a loss to comedy he was only 62 when he died he did so much in his short life he didn't come to the UK until he was 34 what a great entertainer
He looked like and had the same character as my dear grandad. Love them both.
Wow, that was a treat to watch
I love him, he's definitely my favourite Carry on star.
Isn’t it strange as an Englishman, I feel this bloke is in my DNA, when in reality he didn’t get here til he was 34?
Hyaa Hyaa Hyaaa....loved him.
He was very good in Helldrivers too..
One of the best, should have been knighted.
