Finished the JWT cams install!!!

  • Finally finished. And everything installed. We got the JWT cams installed and bolted up, also was able to put on the stillen crank pulley, and the dewla designz air guide before everything bolted up.

    So the thing about the factory oil.cooler you said was a little off, first off the oil amd coolant depend on one another to stabilize there own Temps, exhibit a would the AAM R line oil cooler, they coolant would warm the oil up faster ans it would also cool the oil off just enough to stabilize it have you ever driven in less than 60* degrees at night with a 34 roe oil cooler. Oil gets too cold. S

      ... drove mine at 40 degrees tonight. Got it up to 200 degrees temp with a 34 row oil cooler. Was just stating... the factory oil cooler defeats its purpose after engine gets to temp.. its just heating the oil at that point with the coolant instead of cooling it. Hence the delete.... if its not in northern states... no point keeping it.

      @@immortal_z34 it could be the fact that you got the moshimoto i have the setrab 25 row core and at 50 degrees at night my oil would linger at 165ish on the highway in an hour of driving, I'm going to need a block of plate or something to keep it at 180

    How long it took you to install the cams?

      Took about two weeks... Only because my buddy and I had to do this while we did our day jobs and all that... So only had like 2 hours a day to do this work... But if it was straight work on the car, it would have taken 2 good days.

    Did you have to replace the VVEL actuator sensor and assembly?

      No sir, says in the FSM to get new sensors. But as long as u put them back EXACTLY where they were before, (mark them) u can reuse them.

      @@immortal_z34 nice, I just swapped out for the e85 and definitely feel it’s worth it. Wanting to go to cam route just haven’t found proven info on whether it’s worth it. Granted any mod other then FI isn’t going to give you crazy numbers but some added torque and 10-15hp would be nice. Did you notice some power or torque after install and retune?

      @@nicholasherrera3620 I hear ya man.. honestly.. when I made the decision to do the cams, was due to watching Z1, on their track car... try to find the video, it's full bolt on with cams.. after watching that video , I HAD to do the install haha.. but what the don't mention in that video was a bummer.. the tuner there jon... he had that car on his dyno for like 3 WHOLE days... so he was tweaking everything he could to achieve those gains.. and then after some more research.. jwt c2 cams were made for boost... so with my install.. I didn't make much gains at all and I'm admin tuned... but I looked at it as a future mod.. when I go boost .. which I'll be TT next month so in the end.. ill update this video after I go boost to show these cams true potential. 👍

      Cams were at that time were strictly for my future goals of going turbo... so staying n/a .. I would have to say no. These cams were made for boost. As I JUST got done doing my TT install.. ill be posting more videos on everything else.. sorry for lack of videos. Been caught up with work and school

    Any tips on valve clearances or bucket clearances? That’s what I’m worried about.
