    Very nice and well thought out video.
    I’m trying the lasso setup and self welded wheel chocks anchored by a 5/8-11 bolt to the deck (under deck backer plate) for a secured point, very little room for through the wheel strapping for me. Tried many different tie-down schemes over the years with no loss of equipment but some work better than others for sure.
    Again, nice job on the video, short and on point !

    having driven truck for over 40 years, if you put a half turn in your straps they won't flap so much. It's called harmonic vibration.

      I would go around the A-arm & trailing arms. Just make sure you don’t put the strap on anything that will cut it.

    How long have you been using these? Wear issues with those rims?

    • @trailkings
      @trailkings  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Been using them on those wheels since 2018 when the machine was bought new. I haven’t noticed any wear issues but our wheels tend to get stretched up from the rock trails.
      When our turbo S was new & before the rocks scratched the wheels... I never saw any damage to the wheels that I can remember but I can see how it could happen if not installed correctly or if sandy dirt was left on the wheel when strapped down which would cause the strap to act as sand paper.
      Overall it’s still the only way we strap our machines down. Hope this helps.

      Yes sir. With connecting to each tire directly to the side of our trailer, 8ft is long enough for us. Most times we have slack in them we loop up after we tighten them.

      It’s not for everyone but it’s been the best way we have found to strap our machines with no issue.
      We’ve been doing it for five years now and no finish have been worn off on our wheels. I’m not saying it can’t happen, just providing feedback from our experiences.

      @ChaseLandMgmt Pƙed 2 lety

      When I’ve used them, I secure the lasso around the tire and not the wheel itself. Same method most roll back wrecker operators use. It has worked well for me and keeps the finish on the wheels unblemished and keeps the strap from wearing on the wheel.
