@ 0:32:40 -- It's really sad that so often -- and on occasion, _very_ harshly -- Attorney Adeniji suggests (or flat-out says) that Judge Kim is treating him or defendants worse because they are black. As Judge Kim says here, there's _no one_ he'd just be laughing about this with except Attorney Adeniji.
I watched every single court appearance Judge Kim ever streamed to CZcams, and he was _never_ discriminatory on the basis of race. He asked boys of _all_ races what on earth was going on with their hair. He held _all_ parents accountable for what they could control. He went out of his way to start reunification between a black son and his father -- a felon on probation who was doing whatever it took to walk the straight-and-narrow -- including furlowing the son for in-person visits.
(And anyone who's familiar with the rap scene in DFW understands his conversation with the parents of a young rapper, telling them he likely wouldn't be in Kimbo if he was singing in a church choir, instead. Judge Kim was talking about relative _safety,_ not the inherent worth of the people who participate in either.)
I've never seen a judge who better intuits when a parent just needs a hand, or to be reassured this isn't about saying they're a bad parent, or when a parent _does_ need to be shamed for the bad choices that affect their children. Similarly with detainees -- he always knows who needs to hear that this really isn't fair, but it's the best he can do; or that he's proud, or disappointed. I hope he's in this role for the families in his community for a long time.

I started watching Judge Kim around the time COVID was temporarily lifted in the summer of 2021 before he eventually came back to Zoom until the very end in May 2022. I binge watch whatever that I missed. I truly wish I had started watching him from the moment all that stuff with Lil Rodney went viral. I miss Judge Kim wholeheartedly and wish he was still streaming detention hearings to this day.

So sad to see these kids 1 after 1 and No Parent, and we wonder why these kids end up in trouble 😕

Just seeing this one…these are some of the saddest situations I’ve ever seen with kids…and some parents. What’s wrong with these kids? The attitudes are horrible and some are so dangerous…and so few of them can answer a question completely….it’s like a blockage in the brain….some listen but so many have no respect for anyone or anything. I get angry because they act this way and then sad when I listen to some of the parents….then you have the ones who have what seems great parents and their kids just don’t care. It’s heartbreaking.
