- The plaintiff hired the defendant to make a cake for her bachelorette party. However, the plaintiff alleges the cake appeared wet when it was delivered, and it had cream filling, which she did not request, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant insists the plaintiff chose a cake from her website, and she made exactly that, so the defendant denies owing anything.

I agree. Sometimes his "judgement" doesn't make sense, but the chick should have conveyed better to him. Yes, I was scammed because she wanted a discount, which I would not give, so she made up a fake scenario in order to get the cake for free. And YES, plaintiff does appear to be the messy type.

The plaintiff did try to scam the defendant. They actually ate a regular cake before she called her. She used the Dick cake for display only with the intention of returning it. It's like women who buy a dress, leave the tags on, then return it after wearing it to an event. You wear the dress for free. Similarly the plaintiff was able to show off a sexy cake and didn't have to pay for it. Judge Mathis got played on this one.

JM didn’t listen agin. The defendant said she felt the lady ordered the cake just for display. Meaning she was scamming her out of her service while her sole intent was to complain about the cake for a refund after the party.

The Plaintiff is an A** Complaining over some butter creme. She did try and use the Defendant. She hassled her on price. Only used her cake for show (ordered two cakes, ate the other one). Then went on to bash her business. Online as well (Yelp). The Butter Creme might have been a bit extra. But you don't do that to your Sister. I really appreciate The Defendant for maintaining her composure, with that mean spirited female.

As I've said before on various JM videos, this is a good example for those who desire to be business owners and entrepreneurs, but doubt their abilities. If these people can do it, YOU definitely can.

Judge Mathis isn't a good judge. When she said scam she meant she never planned on paying for the cake. She wanted a free cake. She also said her budget for a cake was 100 but then had another cake at the party. She her saying her budget was 100 was just a scam to get a free cake to display.

The defendant did not prepare. She should not have lost the case. The plaintiff is a user and never intended to pay. She initially said the cake was wet and switched to the cream being the issue.
I disagree with the judgment. The plaintiff was very specific but not specific enough. And a call after midnight?! To say she wanted the cake just as the others she saw on the site other than the hue of the 'skin's. She got what she asked for. The wow factor on the table while they ate the other cake. Cakes are not returnable!
Having studied defamation in a law class, I'm actually surprised JM sided with the plaintiff. The defendant honestly believed the plaintiff was attempting to scam her. Therefore, in her mind what she said was true. In order to prove defamation, you have to prove the person defaming you knew what he or she said was a lie. What the defendant said was her opinion and therefore, not the same as a life. Yes, I know JM is a judge but in this case, he was wrong. Wish the case had been heard by Judge Milian. She would have been a better choice and I believe would NOT have sided with the plaintiff.
I totally disagree with the judge. It's her opinion in the reasoning how she believed she was being scammed. From the time the customer tried to change the price to the complaint about the cake.
