- No video for this song has surfaced yet, so being one of my favorite songs ever, I did it as a tribute. I use footage previously uploaded to you tube in which Gene is singing "dance in the street". The clapping is so similar that I couldn't resist to make this video!

Thi guy was so underrated and over shadowed but not forgotten. Began listening to vintage music after American pop culture turned toxic in the mid '90s... I heard ALL kinds of music BUT nowadays it shouldn't be called music ...
This is the best type of music that never dies. Long live Rockabilly and Rock N Roll 🎸
I saw gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, and Gerry Keller at the hippodrome Brighton in the 60s they were great.
I was so fan about this rock a billy… i ´m nostaligic off this Time … but now it’s to late

@E. Blaze 60 not 59
its impossible you saw Cochran in the 60s. only in 1960 is possible
DAMN, SAM..."YOU GOTTA BE OLDER THAN DIRT" 🥰
You are so right young person.I was there and it was great to be alive. The time will never come again, but thank the Lord, the music is saved.
This is what the radio needs now
And this my friend is why we need a time machine.

1957 and this was the beginning.. what a true artist Gene Vincent was ...
Gene passed in my home town of Newhall CA. and rests here.
I love how the backup clappers stand right in front of the band.
One of originals!❤️🎶
He and his Bluecaps, send Rock and Roll into orbit. No doubts.
Good ,rock and Roll is here❤️🌹🖤,gêne ,Eddy Cochran, buddy Holly ,🖤

50s music was great. Love it. Much better than today.
GENE VINCENT deine Musik wird immer lebendig sein ! 🎸🎸🎸 Ein grosser Fan aus Eschborn....
Господи! Ну почему я снова и снова смотрю и слушаю это?
I'm just 13 years old and I love this music. It holds a special place in my heart and one of my biggest wishes would be to live, even for a day in that era. It's sad when your idols are all dead. When you crack a smile when you listen to dead people sing. One day I hope the world at large holds a mirror to itself and realizes how far we have departed from good old values like those in the 50s. For all those who listen to this music and are around my age you have my utmost respect for helping to carry on the most amazing time in American History (I'm from Canada so us too).
That's Cool! Keep Rockin :)
For many at the time, Rock'n'Roll didn't sit easily with "50's values"
Keep it alive, 13 yrs old. Are you really 13. You write like a 15 yrs old.
We lived this and miss all of the greats. It won't be long and we will be joining them. We will always have those great memories.
Surf band from Hamilton, ON. I hope you have a Canadian sense of humour: czcams.com/video/QkViqP5iHoA/video.html
Legendary stuff Vincent and Cochran set the bar...!!
So True.
What a great time to grow up in😊 so many great groups and songs 🎼🎶🎶🎶🇬🇧
Oww... Gene was a real macho and great artist. And i say a more - i love to look at him on stage.
Pure gem from an incredible period of music.
The best of gean vincent
An all-time favourite
Lotta music, Lotta loving. Lotta honesty. Grand, very grand. TX Gene. Old Hippie, Cape Town.
Your playlist is priceless. Thank you for sharing
Gene vincent is and all ways be the king of Rockabilly
Totally agree fabulous music
I wasn’t even born until 1963 but I learned to love Gene Vincent thanks to my parents playing his records on Sunday mornings. He was such a great singer/songwriter and very handsome too. Life is cruel. Rock in peace mr. Vincent.
julie j ai eu la chance de voir gégéne 2 fois en 1963
I was 13 when this came out and it is impossible to say how mind blowing it was.You would have to have been a kid yourself brought up on inane dross to appreciate it. Even with Buddy, Elvis, Eddie, Little Richard and Jerry Lee knocking out great rock n roll this was in a class of its own.
I will be in heaven Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran 👍
I was driving on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood when I first heard this song. Since I didn't hear who the artist was, I called the radio station the next day to find out. Been a Gene Vincent fan ever since.
I only wanna Rock with Gene and Eddie!
Gene the Caps and The Clapper Boys just pure Rock n Roll.
A sensitive artist, touched by grace; one of the few stars that illuminated the 60s ...
... and 50's too !
50s.
First time I heard this song was in the old British Legion in Dowlais Merthyr Tydfil on the juke box to the left of the bar, it totally blew me away I was with my girlfriend at the time who loved all things 50's. The guitar riff and gene Vincents' voice was something else, it was the 87 and a good place to be. wish I'd been there in the 50's when the teenagers had the best times and music along with the fashion and styles
Queste canzoni fanno parte della mia vita
vous avez raison ces chansons c est tout nôtre vie merci a gêne Vincent pour cette musique de rock an Roll grand artiste
Gene Vincent, a guy by todays standards isn't very well known, but he sure was so well respected by every other artists and isn't that what really counts ?
O
@@ume01111 ...and he probably would be if it weren't for the fact that he hasn't been played in fifty years, nobody under forty has ever heard of him except, the few that know a little music history.
1980 this, punk and rest of it. Still i like that all
Like NRBQ
Proper Rock N Roll .... Awesome
He is rock and roll
A great song by one of the best!
He was the coolest rock n roller 50s around with the legendary rest 😎🎙🎸🎵
Great!!! Gene Vincent, such a great artist
Back in the days when rock and roll stars where wild. Gene and Blue Caps music was wild and spontaneous. How friggin cool do this lot look.
the birth of it all... that guitar sound... it all came from this
I think the lead guitarist is Cliff Gallup.Way ahead of his time.
@@John-ob7dh oh yeah! Glorious Cliff Gallup!
Im only 16 but i really like this music i wish i have born in that time
Me too! :)
This is the music I grew up with and it was great. You're lucky you can find it all on youtube or Sirius radio.
Ron Regan thank you , I’m really glad i can listen to this masterpiece
Happy Heavenly 89th Birthday Gene Vincent February 11 1935 - October 12 1971
The Most popular of his songs!!Its too bad he didn't have more songs like this to sing!!!Talented singer,I have some of his 45 RPM in my Record Collection. Thanks for Posting!!! Mar.1,2017 Wednesday.
I was just about to comment that Gene looked like he was pretty bad at lip-syncing, then I read the Description. Funny! It's amazing how well some of the claps and dance moves sync with the audio.
One of the best songs ever and the video with the backup guys is wonderful
THE BEST ROCKABILLY MUSIC EVER LOVE IT😘😘
first time seeing this so thank you love the song and your tribute
Thanks for your comments!
I FIGURE THIS CLIPPING WAS LIFTED from "THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT" ...THE FILM LAUNCHING of JAYNE MANSFIELD!!!
Sweet Gene *** Simply The Very Best *** Have loved him forever *** To The Moon And Back *** Took my breath away ! RIP
Greatsong greatgroupgreat musiclong live rock and roll
One of his best. Blue caps adding the bop. Cliff the sassy guitar. Winning combo. Gene never did a bad record.
Humity Dumpity
Great rockabilly song! Gene was great on his own after Eddie Cochran died. Rock and roll forever!
Ну, почему я не родился раньше своих родителей? Какая же была музыка!
What a very nice voice he had!
I remember reading somewhere decades ago that his crystal clear voice was the result of having a very high top of his mouth
The Clapper Boys were a nice touch .
I have always loved the opening guitar lick by Johnny Meeks on this recording. I met him in California a few years ago at a Gene Vincent Tribute Show in Van Nuys, CA. RIP Johnny, you were a great guitar player !
It sounds like Cliff Gallup on his Duo-Jet. He was much better than Johnny Meeks!
Another lead man for Gene was Jerry Merritt. He was our Music Director for my band, the Velvet Illusions, in 1966-67. We recorded 2 of his songs, which are on our 50 year anniversary respective CD and LP. Jerry was amazing.
@@SquireRic According to Kenny Vaughan it's actually Buck Owens on that rhythm riff and Johnny Meeks on lead.
Awesome 👌
36yrs of a legend...gene the djinn of magic!
He was so good, underrated artist.
not by us
Not by moi. Or the psychobillly artists of the late 70s and 80s.
La plus belle voie du monde !!
Great song, great singer. His music sounds as fresh today as it did back in the 1950s
Im guessing that's because todays music is crap
@@old65rocker Guessing wrong as always. Shitting on other people's music does not make yours better.
Great days music you cant beat
Hello Heather, How are you doing?

I just wanna Rock with Gene & Eddie!
My mum met Gene Vincent when he sang at USAAF base in Mildenhall Suffolk in 1961. He went back to my grandmas with my mum and some of their friends. He wanted my mum to be his gf and return to the USA with him. Mum and my grandma always blamed Gene for mum smoking lol
BEAUTIFUL
I love this song too and play it loud any video is good too me so ROCK ON GENE .
Gene Vincent king of rockabilly😎
Gene Vincent super. благодарю канал за трансляцию.
Gene you so rock mate 🎸😘
I am old enough to remember the advent of those first rockers. Gene Vincent was amongst that august body. It was a night in I would think, 1960/1. Gene had had his accident (the day Eddie Cochran died), and he was playing at Peterborough Corn Exchange. Gene walked close by me, going to the bar. I shall always remember with affection those days & nights of my youth.
Still great after all this time. Thanks.
great style this, so together - and wonderful guitar.
GENE IS YOUNG HERE BUT STILL LOOKS OLDER THAN HE IS .TAKE A LOOK AT PHOTOS OF HIM IN THE LATE 60'S AND 70/71 and you would think he is 60 instead of 36 at the time of his death. RIP GENE VINCENT CRADDOCK.
Mighty ,knew what he was doing.hugely under-rated
Mi tono de llamada en el móvil es esta canción y la gente flipa cuando lo oyen.😜🎶🎸🤘🏻
that baseline blew me away, i was eight , an' it still rocks my soul, i'm 47.
Gene Vincent, my hero since the very first time I heard him when I was eleven!
Great performer. Underrated . First saw him in The Girl Can't Help It , a 1956 movie that also had Eddie Cochran, Little Richard and The Platters in it. Probably the first Rock and Roll movie made. Gene was the real King of Rockabilly. Brian Setzer loved Gene and Eddie. He patterned the Stray Cats after their music. He also did a song called We're Going To Rock With Gene And Eddie.Brian also played Eddie Cochran in La Bamba.
Under rated? This is Gene Vincent, not Doug Poindexter!!
Underrated? 😂
@@murphy1951 Gene wasn't underrated by his fans, but the powers that ran the music industry. Dick Clark played Be Boppa Lula but nothing else. Alan Freed rarely played any of Gene's records. The same with other DJs. Gene had a unique voice and performed live on a lot of shows with Eddie Cochran , Buddy and even Elvis on the Louisiana Hayride. He was never on Bandstand. He never was on Sullivan..No Gene had a certain type of talent that was ignored in his lifetime. Only in the tour with Eddie Cochran did the English fans take to Eddie. The US had forgotten about him. Gene died trying to make a comeback and only now in the U Tube age can we appreciate his talent. Underrated ? Yes he was at the time but I have every record I could find. Your definition of underrated is different from mine. I'm 77 and I saw him in The Girl Can't Help It with Eddie Cochran in 1956. I listened for songs the radio never played. Be Boppa Lula was the only one played at all. Dick Clark hated Gene for some reason. And Gene kept recording but got little airplay. Gene's last song was recorded in England. It's called Temptation Baby. Look it up on U Tube. You guys are new to the oldies. I was there when they came out.
I saw gene Vincent in the sixties he ran and slid across the grand piano great stuff.
Absolute rock and roll
Amazing fit!
glad you made the video makes good use of the movie footage.
I bought the record of this song in 1957 in Brooklyn New York, new, on a 78 RPM.
I like this type of song as I Stuart going to dance parties since I was high school.
This clip is from the movie "Hot Rod Gang" at Gene's TV afternoon rehearsal. He is singing a different song as well. There is a dance number and John Ashley sings as well. Fender guitar and amp lovers there is a lot of vintage gear.
terrance Fields Je crois que dans Hot Rock Gang , il chante Baby Blue . Merci pour les précisions .
Happy birthday to Gene Vincent his birthday verse is Psalm 2:11 his Birth Card ♦️ is Ace of Spades! Rest in Peace ☮️🕊️ Blessings and Hugs 💖🤗🙏🤗🙏🤗🙏!
God bless you gene Vincent and your friend Eddie Cochran thankyou for your great music 🎵
