I brought a Silver Clipper from Eagle Music Huddersfield England and met with Jens. What an amazing gentleman he is like his music wonderful and warm. I started to play Banjo at 73 years young with a Deering and they are all phenomenal able to suit all abilities and styles. However buying an expensive banjo does not make you a better player. Thank you to the Kruger Bros and Joel for bringing music into my life. Kind regards Tim

The banjo sounds remarkable and Jens playing is off the charts! And his explanation of the attack, sustain, timbre etc, is so thorough.

I've purchased what probably amounts to over $20K in Deering banjos over the past decades but none, and I mean NONE, of my Deering banjos have the notes that Jens is coaxing out of that Silver Clipper. That man is phenomenal... and that banjo ain't too shabby either! :o)

My first time hearing Jens play and I am blown away. Such a virtuoso! The banjos are works of art as well, thanks for the videos.

Incredible playing, but then Jens could play a spring from a screen door and make it sound great.

It also has a thinner armrest which is very comfortable and looks cool.

Jens has a decent banjo collection, including his signature model. :-)

I wonder -- how does this banjo sound so vastly different than my Sierra? Examining the specs, the only real difference I note is the tapered side walls. But then, this is a feature the Silver Clipper shares in common with a number of the other high-end models. So what makes it sound so much richer, so full of overtones -- as if a mixture stop on an organ has been added?

The Sierra is a an amazing banjo and you are in good company by playing one. Kind regards Tim

Deering, do you know what song he is playing in the beginning?

I have a a silver Clipper. It sounds ok. The neck is too beefy. I’m thinking digging into it with a rip saw to thin it down some. Anyone else feel the same?

The Silver Clipper does not have the focus and purity of tone the Jen’s banjo has. I have a Silver Clipper that I’ll be replacing the tone ring with the Jen’s ring. Should make a marked improvement in tone.

Some people can, some people can't, others simply work towards it. We offer the very affordable, and excellent quality Goodtime range to cater to all players.
