I think we are all waiting for the laws to catch up on electric scooters. In many states like ours, it's left up to local city ordinances. When cities lag behind, it leaves a bit of ambiguity. This isn't fair to riders, or officers, nobody should have to guess about what the laws are.
I've traveled to several cities this year that have dedicated bike lanes. Clearly that is the way to go, and soon we won't be in the road with cars, but in our own private lanes. Micromobility is here to stay, the question is how will individual cities respond to this technological revolution.

We know the rider isn’t wrong, but going bad and forth with him is what made the entire thing even longer. A lot of times just let cops talk, they’ll get out what they need to say and then you’re on your way lol, they only can really talk more and more if you keep giving them something to respond to 😂

Rule makers don't ride scooters. They don't know nor understand the facts that scooter rider (or two wheeler) experiments. No one can convince me that going slower than 4 wheelers is safer than going at the same speed or a little bit higher. The moment when I switched to a power scooter and get ridden of the dumb 25 km/h limit of my previous scooter that was my best experience. I think that the raison why governments punish e-scooters is that they fear about loosing tax revenues they obtain from car drivers.

A safe speed is subjective. A Porsche 911 can do everything at high speeds on certain road conditions safer than most other vehicles. On the other hand, a Toyota Tacoma can drive safer at higher speeds on some road conditions that would be more dangerous than the 911.

Wow this would ruin my day. And I am exactly like you. I do ride fast to keep from 1000000 cars passing me. When I go 40mph, cars are still faster than me. I never ride my bicycle on non-shoulder roads because most cars are no patient and honking horns I don’t condone. Cops should be stopping criminals and not harassing scooter riders

Cop: these vehicles don't have seat belts, airbags, they have no protection ... but neither do bicycles, motorbikes, wheelchairs, skateboards, kids tricycles. All these are legally allowed on the street. The 2 things they can get you on are speeding and dangerous operation - never admit to either - stay cool and scooters will rule.
You can't judge from what cops is saying about the speed limit on the road. If you don't ride an e-scooter over the speed limit on the road like other cars and motorcycles, then the cops will leave you.

It depends on if the police department is underfunded or not. They also need the man power to be able to do it. A non fatal or severe injury car accident does not take priority when an active threat or house is burning down.

Whats crazy you guys live in a small city and I live in Phoenix and the police over here don't even care about those scooters they are everywhere. Electric bike scooters motorized bike etc. Basically if you you brave enough to ride those in the streets with the crazy drivers over here then good luck.

It’s legal most places to ride electric scooters even with traffic as long as there no reckless riding. So cops stopping so many is just them harassing riders. Definitely know your rights because I wouldn’t stop knowing when I have every right and following traffic rules. Let’s see an officer take a 1mph ticket to court. I was pulled over in Story City Iowa for doing 72mph passed a state trooper going 70mph in the left lane. He pulled me over and wrote me a ticket but failed to show up to court. Got the ticket dismissed.

Got a running a red light ticket (pre-emptive over the line before green like 99% cyclist do including myself) on a bloody Segway G65 Max on the way to work at 20mph by an unmarked cop SUV. Got over it and bought a Nami Klima so no longer running red lights since I get to the set of lights before cars and always make the orange lights. Burn E 2 Max next step in my learning process, Inmotion RS/Wolf GTR ect... 🤔

I saw it when it was a prototype last year and the lumilor paint is gamechanging. Plus Dale built from the ground up with the best specs, PMT, Magura brakes, removable battery. I'm torn between that and the RS for my personal scooter this year.

I also ride a scooter for leisure purposes not for commuting despite the fact that I'm good at maneuvering but standing while riding over 30km/hour on the street in those tiny thing is vulnerable than you sit on motorbike. I'm really good enough at this thing but still feel and sense the danger so I know the reason why the officer really cares for you. You must take it with humility, probably God uses him to warn you to keep you from something bad that could happen in the future.
I ride the single motor Vsett V10, you HAVE to be fast on these scooters, I wait at a red light and some guy in a civic just takes off next to me, like only 4 inches between us, I almost hit the curb.

I live in Australia and the speed limit is just 25 km/h, and I find it's too slow. I already removed the speed limiter on e-scooter and now I'm riding at 65 to 75 km/h!
I haven't been stop by cops yet, so I'm lucky. But I don't do this often, because I'm scare of the cops!

Yes and no. It's complicated. You most likely need to upgrade controllers, battery pack and motors all together unless one of those components is naturally way more powerful than the others

Dude you know that Mukuta goes 48 mph even in cold weather. I have one and drive in the Buffalo winter. But I agree with you there alot of bad drivers out there. I too was pulled over by police cause I was speeding.
The dash isnt quite accurate until you lower the wheel diameter to 9.7 inches in the P settings. It can only hit 45 on a full charge in good conditions if you check it with GPS. Same as most 10 inch scooters the motors are limited by RPM to about 45 mph under load. If you are super light weight, like 100 lbs, you could potentially hit 45-48 but you are the exception not the norm. Most people wont' break 45 ever.
Going up hill on that scooter is impossible and I had the Vsett and up hill I wish I could do 38. It's a bias, even if your pacing a scooter, the way a cars speedometer is wired doesn't align with bikes and scooters, GPS will agree with that.
