- Step by step guide on how to use an Oxygen Concentrator at home.

First, fill the humidifier bottle. Open the humidifier bottle carefully
Always use filter water for filling the bottle.
Half the bottle should be filled on every use.
Tighten the bottle cap carefully
Mount the filled bottle with the help of velcro straps.
Place the bottle inside the Velcro Straps
Tighten the Velcro Straps around the bottle firmly
Open the filter door on the back of the device.
Remove it Carefully and close the filter door carefully.
Connect the connector tube to the Top of the bottle.
Tight it firmly.
Connect the other end to the oxygen outlet Port.
Connect the cannula to the humidifier bottle. Tighten it firmly.
Keep the device 15-30 cms.away from the walls furniture & curt
Now plugin the switch carefully.
Press the Power button on.
Adjust the flow meter by turning the knob.
Once you adjust the flow meter its ready for the breathing
Be sure oxygen is flowing through the cannula.
We recommend you to wear a cannula in this manner.

please advise people oxygen machine can produce nose and throat dryness because air flows in/out all the time. After use a couple of days, patient will ask for water especially during sleep.

Adding a few important facts.
1. All O2 concentrators take 15 to 30 minutes to really start making enriched O2 .
2. Higher the air flow rate, lower the O2 .
3. Only some machines provide a nebuliser unit. If yours doesn't, buy a unit (no compressor needed) and connect to output tubing.
4. Good machines also have sensors to read O2 percentage at the outflow . And some even have pulse oximeter attached.
5. It's wise to keep a ,10 or 15 liter 02 cartridge,, for use during transport to hospital or waiting for the concentrator to be fully functioning.
5. A O2 cylinder as standby is ideal for serious conditions. needing pure O2
6. Be alert for hypocapnia apnoea in drowsy or coma patients
Important advice: Not just the filtered water, we have to use DISTILLED water. This advice is provided by our Oxygen concentrator tech who came to do the set up and guide me on how to use it, how much the water level should be and at what point of time we have to refill the bottle. Just today I came to know the cause of Rohit Sardana the well-known TV news anchor's death occurred after his recovery from CORONA. It was the "BLACK FUNGUS" which is the culprit causing Oxygen Concentrator user. It is said that the Hospital staff were using normal tap water and the bacteria of the water can attack this low immunity patient. Please be aware of this tiny but very important fact to care for your loved ones.

Pharmacies sell bottles of sterile water or you can make your own boiling the distilled water 5 minutes then letting it cool. That's what I had to use after surgery. I guess it depends on the immune strength of the patient.
@@josephcarroll3806 Yes. This one takes the oxygen from the air and removes the other gases to produce nearly pure oxygen. There are some that use canisters of oxygen but you will need to refill those once empty. The ones like in this video provide unlimited oxygen.

No sir. This machine generates oxygen from room air. There is no need for refilling.
When do I need to change the water ?
Preferably every day. Using distilled water is recommended but RO filtered water will do the job.
