I will fall asleep for 4 to 5 hours and wake up with so much mucus in my bronchial tubes that I got to get out of bed sit up drink fluids for 3 to 4 hours before I can even use an inhaler. i’m presently on Medicare and CIGNA is our supplemental insurance company. just wondering if they cover oxygen I can use so I can sleep at night because as soon as I lay down for so many hours my bronchial tubes just fill up with mucus.
I’m OK if I’m up and drinking fluids, but it still takes hours just to clear out all the gunk in my lungs. Any help or info would be much appreciate it.. it gets pretty brutal when you also suffer from panic attacks and hyperventilation.

I believe you can adjust your oxygen flow with the use of a pulse oxymeter to monitor and determine whether you achieve a suitable level of oxygen saturation. HOWEVER, you will need to talk to your doctor to determine how much oxygen is safe for your body as too much or too little oxygen can be harmful (to your heart function and breathing).

I just got out of the hospital treated for what the hospital called Covid Pneumonia also they did an x-ray and discovered A bloodclotting on my lung they prescribed blood thinners for this. I tried to wait it out but I have other lung issues such as Asthma, COPD, and Emphysema. When my O2 saturation dropped to 67% I knew it was time to go to the ER I have an Oxygen concentrator as I am on 3 liters of oxygen per hour daily I run my Oxygen concentrator 24 hours a day I have one of those Oxygen finger devices to tell what my O2 saturation is constantly monitor myself as you never know maybe the device doesn't put out the oxygen it should My supplier tells me my machine produces 90% oxygen.Do yourself a favor go to the hospital they had me on Intravenous antibiotics for my pneumonia they work better than taking pills they had me on these for 5 days I was also started wearing a full face mask at 15 liters of Oxygen their oxygen is purer than what you get from a home oxygen concentrator mine only puts out 5 liters when it's working properly it doesn't best I can get from my machine is 3 and 1/2 liters they had me on 15 liters for a day and a half then they took the face mask and put a canula back on me as set my oxygen at 10 liters by the end of the week they had dropped me down to 3 liters they made me walk around the hospital a couple times the RN wanted to keep a couple more days but I wasn't having it the in house Dr and my Pulmonologist said if I could get down to 3 liters and my O2 sat remained high it was now at 95 I could go home and I did after arguing with the RN about my having Emphysema and COPD I explained even if I spent another week there I still would have this disease it's not curable I went home he called in 3 or 4 prescription for Prednisone , azithromycin, And one other, after another week these prescriptions ran out I was much better.
