Hello! Just came across your tutorial which is very informative. I also fell in love with your bracelet. Did you do a tutorial on it? If not, is it attached to leather and what kind of closure did you do for it?
Thank you 🙏 it’s also attached to leather. And sewed along the edges through the beads and leather, because a bracelet gets much more wear. And I just use snaps for closures, I get them from Micheals and a leather tannery sometimes too.
@@jessicadesmoulin9485 I was wondering the same thing. I just made a seed bead bracelet and was going to put it on a leather strap I was kind of hoping I could glue it on but it looks like I will have to sew it on.
I just finished my very first hatband and i was trying to figure out how to reinforce it can you please tell me how thick the leather is that you are gluing the band to
The leather isn’t too thick. Bc I told it over on the ends to hold down my thread ends. I get my hides from Helford’s in Edmonton Alberta. They have a website if you want to order. www.halfordsmailorder.com/products-search?qs=GARMENT+SPLIT Item #LECOWBLK2GARSPL That’s what I use. Hope that helps 👍👍
Hi Valerie. I had a hard time doing that myself. That’s why I chose to cut and glue my own. But if I had to try. I would see my thread ends into the beadwork and then glue the piece onto the leather. Then I would tack or sew it on so that the piece will stay through wear
hello! i am a beginnger on making hat bands, and was just wondering how do you get it to that length? all the looms i find in stores are way to small for the band to go around my hat and was just wondering how you make it so long, thank you :)
If I may help. I took a regular 10.00 loom you might purchase from Hobby Lobby or Amazon. I used a Dremmel cutting wheel and cut it exactly in half. (You can use good wire cutters also). I then secured it to a 3 foot long board using Gorilla glue. I let it set for 24 hours. It works great.
After the I complete and order I have for something else I was gonna do a video of a bracelet I’m gonna make for my husband. It’s has letters in it. I’ll post that soon. But for now, I literally bead loom a letter to figure out the beads. The colour I want and size I’d like to use. Remember a smaller bead will give you better definition in a medium surface area. The one I’m gonna make is a bracelet, but it’s gonna be wide. So I will bead the first letter on the loom. That will give me and idea of how wide I want the pattern, if I want a design behind the lettering or not, know what I mean? Then I measure what an inch of beads length wise will be. For example, I am gonna be using 15/0 Seed beads Miyuki (round…I order them from www.ibeadcanada.com ) I get 16 rows/inch. So once I know that, I then figure out my word in the StitchSketch app (apple app) once I know how many rows the word is then I figure out how much I need on each end to make the desired length of the beadwork. I also always start in the middle of my design. That way if I need to add or shorten the design to make it fit it’s easier to improvise on the end of a pattern. I really hope this helped. It’s just how I figured things out.
I was actually thinking about trying that myself. I would glue and sew it. The Pieces and sit on the hat aren’t touched or moved as much as a belt or a dog collar would be
Just came across this. Now I had made a hat band and I used e6000 with super glue on my ends for the leather n I kept it clipped over night. And the person that bought said it came apart. Although it was not glued to a leather back it was requested to just have it by the loom n leather ends. Yet I pulled and tugged on the ends it did not move for me. Any suggestions on how to make sure it doesn't happen again?
I would maybe glue it to a small piece of fabric or sew it to that fabric first and then glue the leather on after. That’s what I would try. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
I measure the hat first around where the band will be. Then I minus about 1/2 inch for the room needed for the lacing of the leather, and another inch for the ends of the band inside the leather. And whats left is how long I try to make the band for:) Thanks so much for watching my video:)
I’m sorry. But I have no experience with that so I can’t give you any advice. Sorry about that. But it’s been a while since ya left this comment so I’m hoping you found help 🥰👍🤩
I’m so sorry for my super late reply. I use Aleene's 15594 Leather and Suede Glue, 4-Ounce. You can get it on Amazon or in Michael’s stores. I find it stays more flexible than craft glue
Thanks for the video. This video along with part 2 is very instructive.
Glad it was helpful!

Do you stitch the loom beadwork to the leather around the edges?
No. I just use the glue. I find if on a hat its not being handled a lot. I havent had any issues so far:)
Thanks so much for watching my video:)
what kind of leather did you use? Thank you for this video and mentioning the glue.
I just use hide from a local tannery here.
I am making a head band. Just curious on your thoughts on attaching?
Therese Ziehr there is a good how to video on CZcams that someone is attaching beadwork to a silver cuff band. Maybe that could help

Made a seed bead bracelet and want to put on a pre made leather band with a snap how do you attach the bead work to the leather strap?

I love your cuff bracelet!!!! Do you have a pattern!
Can you show an example of how you did the names on how to calculate the length to make sure it is centered on the hat?

Can you attach bead work to a leather dog collar or belt the same way?

Would this be same steps to put on a baby board bow?

Which glue?
It’s just a leather glue I grab from the glue section at Michaels
What kinda glue is that

Volume is terrible. Please speak up.
I will try to make sure from now on
