1987 NHRA Chief Auto Parts Winternationals

Tradition continues with the 27th annual running of the 1987 NHRA Chief Auto Parts Winternationals from Pomona on NBC's Sports World. Season openers are not without surprises as owners and drivers are anxious to test their new innovative engine and body designs developed over the winter, and breakages were no exception at this event. Video and audio was upscaled from Standard Def to High Def and I left in a few commercials (just never the same one twice).

One thing that annoyed me about some of these broadcasts is the fake cheering and clapping. I noticed it on a 1983 broadcast with the Blue Max winning a round. Right into the early 90s broadcasts.
