We had a family gathering in Rockport, and Friday (after Thanksgiving) my brother and I fished the north Packery jetty. We were blessed and fortunate with our spot, because the pompano were right in front of us. They would bite on live shrimp, dead shrimp, fish bites, and Wacky Jig. We took 10 pomps from the water, and left them biting. My dad Loves pompano, so I'm always grateful to be able to take him some.
Was out there too and it was hard going. Saw some old fogey waders limited out on slot specks in Rockport. It's heartening in this day and age that with age can still come knowledge!
We just left the area ourselves, was a difficult weekend for fishing.
Managed to grab some keepers, but it was a damn GRIND!
Keep at it my man, it will turnaround!

At least you tried! When I was down there, the fishing was really bad. I am surprised that I even caught a nice flounder and a few other goodies. But other than that it was really bad. Thanks for filming and editing! And for putting out the reports on Facebook.đ

Slim pickings, north of fish pass got a 23'' red in the surf with fish bites and nothing else!!

I love the whiting for lunch sandwich with two easy fried fillets.
I am a fish whore. We only caught 22 hardheads the other day at beach after dusk. I decided to keep 12 since all we were catching. They are good fried.
Often catch a lot of trout at Cole Park Pier but even a bad day there occasionally.
