Enjoyed the tour. Very similar to parts of my collection with 70's fusion, CTI, 60's Blue Notes, etc. Left them all behind when I moved to Australia except 75 of my favorites which I carried on the plane with me Watching you sit in front of them, pulling them out one by one made me a bit nostalgic for those days. Something hi-rez downloads can't duplicate.
Greetings Ron. Nick here. I'm new to the vinyl community. Just watched this video of yours from over 2 years ago. Good jazz fusion collection. I actually have plenty of the LPs you featured here. I shall backtrack and watch more of your videos (I see you have tons!). I hope to post my very first video soon. I know I have plenty of good stuff to share. In the meantime, I will continue to watch and enjoy more videos from other VC members as well. Keep it up.
+99khan57 hey nick my channel is a little different than your typical VC channel it has evolved to record reviews where i compare the quality of the recordings of one pressing to another of the same record to report which one sounds best. I don't go to garage sales and report back every week what i purchased in the dollar bins that is your standard vc channel video. some of my more recent videos are better than the earlier videos where i talk about records in my collection thanks for watching glad you are enjoying the videos
Definitely a different jazz collection than lots of people in the VC - most (like me) tend to focus on hard bop, while others love that ECM kinda jazz - not a lot of people really focus on that mid 70s period.
well don't forget in the 70's we had disco and the radio was sick with it. So that 70's Jazz is what got me through that period. until the stones released Some Girls, Release date June 9, 1978 and the BIG record producers realized Rock N Roll was what the folks wanted and Everything changed because by then we hit the 80's lol and new wave happened
I did some research, and it is said that the Japanese remastered the music and took some bass and added more highs because of noise pollution in the small confined living. Everything is so close and right next to each other they wanted to keep the music from being to deep in base. Well cool videos, keep em coming.
You have a much different jazz collection than I do. Many similar titles, but much more heavy on that sort of 70's electric jazz that was funky and then moved into smooth. Myself I am more into the Blue Note era.
Hi Ron, I would like to know where you got your LP storage units and what the prices are. From what I can see on your video, they look fantastic and sturdy as well. Is this a stand alone unit or a series of stackable bins? If stackable, do they come assembled, or did you have to assemble them yourself?
+Ron Beaudry (Rockinroni) seeing the good taste in selections you have here, you won't be disappointed with some Jaco added into the mix. He's not considered the Jimi Hendrix of bass guitar for nothing, as you'll see when you hear him.
Ron Really enjoyed your video,Billy Cobham and Stanley Clarke have been two of my favorite Artists since I was back in High School.Bob James was my neighbor for a while back in the nineties.Herbie Hancock Headhunters was my first Herbie album, and boy what an Album that is.You got my as a sub in the first couple seconds of this video.Where are you from I llived in Philly from 1979 to 2001. Then I moved back to Michigan. Just wondering how you wound up liking the very same Artist's I do. I find that so cool but that has never happened to my before.I just ordered a Copy of Spectrum from Disccogs I believe the site is.
Vinyl Therapy & Audio Hey Brother glad to meet you! I My first Herbie record was Sextant the record just befor Headhunters I was born in Minnesota and I lived in Winnipeg Canada from 1970 to 1992. If you did not hear Spectrum befor you are in for a treat. Let me know how you like it. thanks so much for taking the time to make a great comment. glad you like the video.
glad to see you have some Buddy Rich...would recommend Canada's very own Maynard Ferguson's band and in particular the albums MF Horn 1, 2, and 3 series
+Ron Beaudry (Rockinroni) Best regards, my introduction to Jazz music was in a reverse order.I started with Jazz. Rock Fusion and ended up in so far in Lennie Tristano

glad you like the video.
Herbie Hancock's The River (Joni Mitchell covers) is also fantastic. I think it won the Grammy for album of the year.
glad to see you have some Buddy Rich...would recommend Canada's very own Maynard Ferguson's band and in particular the albums MF Horn 1, 2, and 3 series
why you don't sort them by artist?
You know I don't have a whole bunch so it's kind of like hard bop and then fusion
Amazing you know Eumir Deodato...
