    Aurora, thank you for always providing very detailed videos. I'm not currently in the market for this device, but I watched the video because it's always a pleasure to see you and your brother making quality content.

    Aurora Tech reviews are so well done that they are an instant-watch for me even if I'm not in the market for the device being reviewed.

    Very interesting and informative, seems like a reasonable machine for minor aluminum metal work, I could really use one. Thanks for your fine videos! Aurora, you are the best and coolest 3D print and home CNC expert, also on YT :)

    Aurora, this is amazing. You could really stir things up with a desktop cnc mill!
    I love the content! Thank you so much for the great review! This is my first time watching a review for a CNC machine. (aka my first time looking into cncs as well)

    The quality of your reviews is insane! I have a fiber laser, I'm not planning to buy any other machine any time soon, but I'm keeping watching every single one of your satisfying reviews :) Can I ask a personal question? I'm really really curious how old are you? ;)
    Best reviews on YT, keep it up!

    Metallurgical teaching moment: brass might technically be harder than aluminum, but brass is the gold standard for machinability among metals while aluminum can sometimes be gummy depending on the specific alloy. You'll see a similar phenomenon with, say, resulfurized 400-series stainless steel and 300-series stainless steel, where the 400-series stainless is likely going to be harder but chips break more easily thanks to the sulfur.
    Love the video as always!

      If brass is the gold standard, is gold the brass standard?

    • @justinchamberlin4195
      @justinchamberlin4195 Před 2 měsíci

      @@frankhovisHonestly? Yeah...gold's peerless ductility makes for poor machinability. A little spelunking on the Internet suggests that some people actually do machine gold alloys (along with silver and platinum alloys) but special tools and techniques are necessary to make it even reasonably doable.

    Never worked in Fusion - do you guys send gcode directly to the router? I have vold vision 2448 router and in Vectric Aspire I just push start on both application and router which is convinient. I like Aspire which has nice a interface. I can work with both: 3D model and vectors imported from dxf/dwg.

    In what scenarios would you need to decrease/increase spindle speed? Wouldn't you just keep it max? Also, can you "anneal" (not in the purely technical sense) the acrylic to further smooth it out? (Obviously I don't use these type of machines yet.)

      Sure. They are different for sure. I should have phrased better. How do they compare for the hobbiest occasional aluminum cnc job?
