- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are going to listen to the comments.... again..... We got so many messages saying we did everything wrong in the last episode and the encryptors actually do work so we've decided to head back to the warehouse and try connecting all sorts of different items to the encryptor to see what happens! @darealkosmo

Well actually kaN, you need to create a logic loop with timers inbetween them set at exactly 177ms and have them each trigger separate mounted spudguns while the spud container has exactly 12 spuds left at 13:37 on the local map time while doing a 360 crouch hammer hit onto both encryptors simultaneously.
That triggers the super secret mission in the logbook that, if and only if you make it no more and no less than 3 chunks away by 13:42, you will be allowed to hook the encryptors into eachother.
This in turns unlocks the ability to take a second pair of encryptors out of a warehouse without using explosives (the walls will be open.) and create an encryptor loop with the first pair. (Make sure to go orange into blue into orange into blue, in a counter-clockwise fashion).
BUT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE CHUNK in which you connected the first two encryptors.
If you do all this, you get kicked out of you map, the save gets deleted and you get banned off of scrap mechanic for exactly 69420 seconds.
Once your ban elapses, you'll be able to remove any item from any warehouse, so long as you are online on your steam community.
LMAO
Exactly!
Ha
You win comment of the day.
I tried it and i can verify it works !
The worst thing would be if you accidentally welded one encryptor into the other. Remember, you can't remove it, and it would make it unweldable into anything.
but what if thats the answer
@@potatoinga5629 That would be the ultimate troll, from the devs. I mean, you could backup the/a save, before trying it, to make sure you can have them back separated.

This series went from multi player survival to a mythbusters series, and you know what. I'm kinda okay with that. XD
the only thing that would obviously work is to bring ALL the encrypters from ALL the warehouses together, weld them together and push them outside the map.
Good plan
Just outta curiosity I kinda wanna see it happen now
But that will take 100000000000000000000000000000 years to do that
try it you're self then you share what happens😂
The real way to unlock the warehouse(it’s true, but you can’t test it): wait until the devs make a Warehouse encryption Update
Edit 8 Months later: This was meant to be a joke
I don't think they will ever do: the amount of materials you would get out of a single storehouse would make survival pointless...
@@Beregorn88 but it would take commitment.

@@Beregorn88 Devs already announced they are overhauling the entire warehouse system.
Overhaul in dev terms basically means re-do/remake from the ground up. In other terms, rather than fix a broke system, they scrap (pun unintended/accident) the aspects that are bad is just do it again from scratch, but do it better with the new knowlage they learned.
In this aspect, they could very well update the warehouses to be destroyable but not overly useful with what they give (like removing some of the concrete and level 3 metal and instead make it about the warehouse-exclusive cosmetic parts like ramps, tables, filing cabinets, ect).

I picture the people complaining about the encryptors are wearing tin foil hats and cursing at the sky.
Yea like conspiracy theorists 👌

Like Kan said, it's people who are guessing how the game SHOULD behave, rather than knowing anything via testing it themselves. And they're good guesses, it just comes off as arrogant and annoying.

I have a feeling it just send out a basic 1 signal until the developers do something with them, like wirelessly send signals.
Ya since they can be hooked up to with a connect tool the game needs to know what to do with them. So a simple 1 or 0 signal would do the trick until they could get the actual stuff up and running.
The part where the signal changes to zero might be a test of some kind as well.
Encryptors in Warehouses may be able to be deactivated at some point in the future.
Encryptors may also be available for use by players. Their item descriptions indicate that they will require power in the form of a connected Battery Container, but this feature is currently unavailable.
This encryptor stuff reminds me of all the Mount Chiliad theories in GTA
Can you stop the train in scrap mechanic
Oh the good old days
Can we go back in time, to the good ‘ol daaaays
Except the mountain theory actually was implimented. It was for the UFO thing, but people took it way too far and thought there was something after that.
This on the other hand is just the result of releasing a game unfinished and implementing aspects before even the aspects *themselves* are finished >_>
(Yes, I am still salty that the roof entrance basically just eats warehouse keys and does nothing if you didn't unlock the ground level elevator. There is no reason it should be able to do that in any build. >.>)
Admittedly i loved those old theories
Cant wait for this to turn into a 100 episode series just proving everyone wrong lol
for encryptors to work you need to modify a game file, a normal game won't let you do anything with them. For example, if you enable the game file and weld encryptor to the building it will become indestructible and you will see an animation except for explosives. if you do not enable the game file, then it will do nothing when you weld creation.
The description of the Encryptor is the following: “Hides the connections on your creations from other mechanics. Connect it to a Battery container.” Ive done this to see what it would do. But the description doesn’t say anything about how to remove it from the warehouse, so I’m guessing that at this point in the game the only use for the encryptor is supplying power to the machines in the mechanic station like as if you were using a master battery. But remember that until the dev comes out with a way to decrypt the encryptor without commands, you wont be able to see how the machines in the mechanic station are connected to the master battery. See? Its just like the description says. Its hiding connections that would normally show up with the connection tool. As for the encryptor, there are still so many questions that still remain. But the question I want answered most at the moment is who wanted to keep us from seeing the connections. It might just be a part of the game, or a part of that game that hasn’t been released yet. It may not be the connections they were trying to hide, there also might not even be anyone or anything thats hiding something. Could just be nothing. I feel like I’m be looking way too far into this, so ill stop at least until the next couple updates come out. I have stuff to package, raids to defend against, and a really long message to send. Bye!
I wasn't expecting you to make another video on it
You're supposed to attach them to your vehicle and then a logic gate so that you can tell when you've loaded in a warehouse. Alternatively, they would make for decent vehicle armor.
"I'm gonna be disappointed in about 30 sec" Quote from Kan's last date :p Cool video, Really! Interesting to see these tested.
Please keep doing these videos they cheer me up immensely
Kan your doing it wrong again! You have to connect a sensor to the encryptor, crouch and stand multiple times over the sensor, then jump left to right 2.5 times and press alt+f4 at the end.. Hope you see this so you can try again

Attach them to a vehicle and drive to the warehouse, I wonder if they turn back on if you are in range of the warehouse
He will not do that
Hmm, let me look at the code... Nope, that won't do anything.
Obviously they need to connect them to a logic gate but the encryptors have to be underwater

"you can argue it's a waste of paint" don't a lot of folks say that to you for painting bearings? :p just kiddin great vid yet again!
if you fly upper the warehouse you can go last floor in 1 elevator :D
Sugestion: person one looking at the logic gate. person two going to the wearhouse and loading the chunk. Look if it turns back on when you load it.
The " cash register " from the scrap fruit stalls. That's what has to be hooked up.
It a single block piston aswell for free 😁
It's almost like no one reads the Dev blog:
Encrypt Your Connections
While you’re exploring buildings in Survival Mode, the temptation will definitely be there for you to whip out your connect tool and examine where all the interactive parts are located so you can get your scavenge on. One upcoming spanner in those particular works is gonna be the encryptor.
This device will hide all of the connection wires until it’s removed from the structure on which it’s placed. Mechanics will of course be able to place and hide this device on their creations so that you can make life harder for any mischievous Mechanics, protecting yourself from those who are out to fiddle with your connections and snaffle your stuff.
The main thing that I can think of as the use for them is for a warehouse detecting system, maybe whether or not they are on depends on how far away they are from a warehouse, and can therefore help you find new ones.
You need to place a wheel on the bearing lol 😆
I love your approach to the comments. XD This was a very entertaining video.
It actually gave me an idea of something to try in my own world. Mostly just because I’m curious now. XD I wonder if the encryptors being turned off at the end was due to it not being in the same tile of the map, or because they are no longer within a radius of the warehouse. If it’s not due to them being in a different tile, then maybe that’s the trick to it. Once I eventually try it, I’ll repost.
notice one has a padlock with a key/lockpick in it symbol and radio plates or something on the corners, and the other has a lock and weird battery things on the corners. maybe that could mean something? maybe male and female encryptor connections idk
and they make little encryptors when hooked together
You just need to install a matched pair of encryptors to allow factory dismantle. Remove the orange from the building and bring a blue from another factory, (you can do it with 2 oranges, but Blue looks better), Leave one in each of the rooms you collect the encryptors from. Careful when you start dismantling after that that the encryptors do not fall from their rooms else you will no longer be able to disable... profit
To me it looks like a warehouse sensor lmao. Another wild theory = maybe bringing those 2 into a new warehouse makes a interference with the ones that are natively in the new warehouse and thus making it able to delete blocks? Idk. Just a thought.
No, what you need to do is mod the game to allow you to get stuff out of warehouses, because SHEESH, you've earned it!
8:24 You can add loose blocks though with the lift.
i am glad that they tested everything with these encryptors.
And i also cant wait to see them test it again after EACH NEW F***ING UPDATE :D
Tere's a tonn of code for future stuff in the game left in the files but encryptors are the ONLY thing that has no associated files what so ever other than the fact that blocks exist and have connection point that's acting like always active switch and people are most obsessed about what we have least tech. info about! )
Btw things like controllers and cannons need an update (turn switch off-on) but since enryptors always active they cannot fire, horns are (all) old blocks so they don't need signal update
Sorry for my english
You guys have need to blow up part of the Square Mesh Block in the warehouse so you can use it for its low friction and make like a land boat with thrusters.
Huh. I remember the part in the unlimited inventory telling me to hook up a battery box. Sad to see it doesn't work. But I've seen posts on reddit that there are functional encryptors in some test version. Nothing to test for you yet
This is the equivalent to flat earthers telling scientist why the earth is flat and what they should do to see it.
So. You now have chunk based switches. Awesome.
You should sometimes makehe draw distance low like it’s a foggy morning or something like that
You can find the encryptors in the debug inventory, part of the description talks about connecting it to a battery container. Obviously it hasn't been finished yet.
I can't breathe because the spiny chair is so funny
Plug a battery container into it with the connect tool and the blue one will protect your vehicles from destruction
The orange one prevents people from seeing your connections on the vehicle its placed on
These backseat gamers are getting out of hand.
This wild goose chase has costed us 2 episodes that would have been enough to build a farm and have a few hordes of footage.
If this doesn’t entertain you, why are you here watching this?

Made it early, love the videos my guy. Keep up the great work
next, you have to stand with the encryptors at your base hooked up to logic while another is in the warehouse and on the second floor.
The only reason that you can take those devices out of the warehouse is so you can protect your base from people trying to destroy it or the Bots trying to destroy it
You should try your hand at automated farm defense.
Also- on an unrelated note, do you know if a water canon can connect to a chemical container and shoot chemicals? and if so, does it do anything?
Jokes, trolls and memes aside, the only way to do it would be to edit the Encryptor script file to give it an input and uncomment the function calls that respond to the state change of the input signal, then edit the blueprint of the encryptor room to add a switch. (Possibly more code changes than these are needed)
Once they are outside and away from the warehouse, they are technically no longer part of the warehouse, but still have the restrictions applied (hence why you can't pick them up).
That or there just isn't a pickup action set for them.
And since the function to toggle the encryptionState never gets called, the warehouse never becomes decrypted.
Hey Khan, at the moment if you want to salvage a warehouse you have to input the console command /Decrypt
You should recreate your lumber mill and the stone crusher you had in your singleplayer world, just so you won't waste time hammering trees and loose rocks while getting resources.
Thank you for doing all of this testing for us so that we don't have to.
So it’s just a fancy sensor, nice
Interesting judging by the signal that’s transmitted, It seems their functionality is half implemented, the part that checks if it’s still on the warehouse tile is implemented
Do *NOT* Weld the encrypters together.
lol if the encrytors give a signal of one near any ware house and your render distance waas like 0.1 you could make an warehouse detector XD
You forgot to connect a seashell, and the totbot heads. I'm sure something will happen eventually, with enough testing.
the dancin grannies 0:02
You can probably make a warehouse detector with those decrypters, you have 2 of them, prob can use one of them ?
On the scrap mechanic wiki it ses that the encrypters in Wearhouses are somthing there going to add. "Upcoming
Warehouses will have new story elements and quests associated with them. Also, the Encryptors inside will be able to be disabled and/or removed. Trash Bots will be added to the roofs of Warehouses"
You need to use the encryptor with tote bots heads, now you might understand their "language" and reprogram farmbots to their original programing and never have to farm yourself.
Of course with all of this is that it's not easy to figure out their "language" and to reprogram a farmbot is no easy task.
I enjoy your videos and im happy when you upload a new video
18:37 the elevator looks cool when it spins like that try to make is a feature
No, you can actually remove any warehouse or even the whole Scrap City, but first you need to delete your save files or the game itself for even better result. BAM you remove anything you thought cant be removed and no need to thank me
The encryptors probably give out a signal of 1, with connectionType.power, instead of connectionType.logic, which would explain why the logic gates turn on, because they take in both power and logic.
You should take the ramps and other stuff from the top of the Wearhouse
Hey kan have you tried with the encryptor holders from the starting farm place with the wheelbarrow I think they should work since they are called “encryptor holders”they look like a pipe and then they widen out at the end
You should bring the encryptors around the world to see if there is a different input i have not t tried .
lol, that intro!
in creative survival i did find that if you put the incriper block i believe it was on your wall it makes the whole wall invincible idk if it works the same when you steel one and attach it but i spawned one and it worked for me
I do not think anything would happen if you do, but here are some things you did not try:
- Hooking up a toadblock
- Hooking up an engine
- Hooking the encrypters into each other
Anyway I would like to find out what the output of the encrypters means
It's just a binary 0x01 signal. It has no meaning other than that
@@gaalidas4836 as seen in the Video it turned off once the encrypters were at the base
You need to use a piston engine to phase it through a wall 😂
I wonder what the encriptor is outputting though, It whould be fun if it outputed if there was bots near by of something, or they could possibly stop bots attacking an attached creation. But they probly don't and it's just some debuging value.
The In-game descriptions of the "Encryptor" and the "Protector":
Protector: Anti-Destruction
Description: Helps protecting your creation from damage. Connect it to a Battery Container.
Encrypter: Anti-Connection
Description: Hides the connections on your creations from other mechanics. Connect it to a Battery Container.
Nice display capture lol
Well, Kan you were supposed to play J.S. Bach - Chaconne in D on totebot heads, but it's easy to fix in the next episode.
Ah ya another episode of kAN Busters, breaking all the Scrap Mechanic myths.
Gutted. You didn’t hook up the one thing that works. The Greenie head! If you hook up a greenie head you can then pick up anything in the warehouse 😂
U should build a car lift where one set of 4 pistons pushes it up and there is another set of 4 that pulles it up and a switch turns one set on and the other off and vise versa, also the encryptor thing may not work until they are completely removed from the warehouse = encryptor on vehicle go bye
One of the numbers!!!
*GASP* HOW DID HE FIND OUT!!😆😂
You can weld incryptors to creation and make indestructible base (but you need much more incryptors)
This could be a movie "kAN and Cosmo and the mystery of the coke breading"
How about bring scrapman in your world and see what he thinks about the encryptors.
Looks like the Encryptor are some kind of Warehouse detectors: when you are in the warehouse the output signal is 1, otherwise is 0
I think that was a test thing, seems like something I would do
I think you must connect encryptors to a button and place the encryptors near the beehive and if you push the button the beehive will regenerate
Every encrypter is hooked up to a logic gate and the logic gate is hooked up to a light. That is why it gives of a signal of one
Now all we need is the dev's to pop in and just go "no". I don't have the game but am interested to see what happens
That's the new theory on how you make them work:
_"Kan, you did it wrong. There's an external component._
_First you gotta have your browser open on your second monitor and have a twitter account._
_After that you then have to tweet at the devs and ask them how they work or if they even work."_
Cosmo is no longer a noob. they grow up so fast
Seriously though, you need to hook up the OR gate in the warehouse.
At one stage in the game (about three months ago) it was either in creative or survival cheats there was a description on the encryptors that said for the protector one (blue) Protect your base from players when connected to batteries. I tried doing this with my friend and when he shot a big piece of normal glass with NO protector it shattered like normal, but when he shot it WITH a protector hooked up to a battery bank the spud did nothing. the encryptor just makes it so when powered with a battery bank it should hide it IDK how exactly this works but that's what the description said
Pls build the 2nd treehouse👍🏼👍🏼
