I'd love to see strategy breakdowns by Dave. Not even just from masters. Just anytime you have a game you think is interesting

Firstly, I just want to thank you for the shout out and I remember you Stephen but not because I had a curry with you. 😅
Secondly, the event name was sort of an accident. I wanted a name that I could easily shorten and that it would fit with the theme. So either Olympics or Games. Clearly I went with the Games side of things and Middle-earth Games was born. It was after that it dawned on me that there was an amazing Shark film and then I had to add The at the start. So there you have it. The history of The Middle-earth Games which goes back hundreds of days. 😁

No hard feelings, love a good constructive critic!
This was actually my first time running AoL since the nerf last year so definitely still learning to build it the most optimally.
Would love to have one of you guys guest on our podcast in the future! Perhaps to review some lists from a big GBHL event.

My weekly dose of unrelatable results and statistics for those of us upside down! But give me the data! Seriously Enjoy the content. Keep it flowing
Question for a friend, what do you think the four best profile special rules are in the game?

for avenger thrower you want as wide a deployment as you can with good los. set your battle line at an angle near one, so the other can fire in efilade at the enemy and kill all the supports/flankers. if they send models to deal with the lone avenger, shoot them with the one near your troops. means you almost always have shots with at least one, even after combat starts. puts you defensive, but double throwers can usually force an enemy advance. blinding light stops your killing power, but then they are forced to stay in their bubble and 100 points isn't too heavy an investment into ranged if this happens. i dont rate taking many extra archers with throwers (beyond some citadel for objectives) i think they work best by allowing you to focus on gondors heavy infantry. more bows just increases your vulnerability to blinding light. and weakens your infantry defence. and have all the limitations of good shooting.

Do you know how the Rivendell knights were able to win the 1st and last scenario?

Hey it was me that was playing them. So the first game was recon and I drew I to a reasonably lucky match up against Army of the dead. My opponent was quite new to the game and so didn't play the scenario particularly well. First turn, one of his warbands failed to come on the board but his second didn't and he walked the first warband up the board anyway 1 turn ahead of his other warband. This gave me the time to wipe that warband out in 1 turn before the 2nd warband had the time to react. In the end I tabled him and sent 3 models off.
As for the last game, this came down to some funky seize the prize stuff. So in normal seize, the game doesn't end till both forces are quartered or the prize leaves the board. In this custom scenario this is still the case, only there are 5 prizes. This fact was key. It meant that as long as I could keep 1 or 2 prizes on the board then the game couldn't end and I would have the time to kill my opponents army. I ended up playing quite passive for the first couple turns while I got in position to lock down 2 objectives and then I focused on killing his army. By the time I tabled him he had gotten 2 prizes off the board but since the game wasn't over I was able to take the other 3 uncontested.
Hope this helped, sorry for the novel 😊

Battle Companies question. Your leader and sergeants are able to purchase any war gear that any model in your company list can have even if that model is not currently an active member. In the Isengard army can your leaders then purchase the Berserker blade and have access to a hand-and-a-half sword and just not have the special rule since they aren’t themselves berserkers?

Why is one guard of the fountain court separated from the others? I was moving models between warbands at the last minute in the program and didn’t notice it.😂 I wasn’t taking max bows as the list needs bodies to fight in the battle line also. The shooting is good enough with the two bolt throwers adding more bows is somewhat of just a win more addition. If in a shooting war I think I’m winning anyway.

I think Minas Tirith allied with The Dead Men with Elessar as the Leader specially at higher point levels is good you get two strong heroes in King Elessar and the King of the Dead with a Dead Herald and like 12 dead men that are hard to kill but can kill easily with 5 guards of the Fountain Court to bring fight 4 in the army at 650 so not many armies are going to charging you with both your terror and 12" Harbinger of Evil from the King of the Dead you could add more Fountain Court or Dead men at 700 points and even add so more Gondor heroes or Dead Heralds at 800+ points their kind of like the Last Alliance but with a bit lower fight and terror or at less that the comparison I found for this green alliance or you can do a Denethor and Gandolf The White army, or Elessar and Gandolf at higher points, heck you could even do Gandolf and Bororim or Elessar and Bororim again at higher points at a 1000 points you can take the three of them and a good number of troops with them, I also think Dol-Amroth is a good Ally for Minas Tirith Imrahil and Denethor can go good together at lower points Angbor can help with terror armies, or terror heroes you could also go with the brothers of Gondor (Bororim and Fararim) to hoard out a bit there is also Ingold to help you keep objective or just stop armies from flanking you Hurin is good for Leader VP and has decent killing power so there are a great many aways to make Minas Tirith good or even great in my opinion but that just what I thing great video again guys keep up the good work

I'm not even american, but I have to push back against the notion that because someone goes over and wins, the entire region is in general better. Didn't an Australian person go to Britain and won everything? Does that mean the austalians in general are better at MESBG?
