The album "Get Hurt" got me through a very hard time in my life, and I am forever grateful to that album.

Very underrated. Even Brian Fallon said he didn’t like it. I like it better than hand written

Me too man. Came out when I was going through my lowest time and I related to it so much - especially the narrative of each song, it was like he was speaking to me or for me. I absolutely adore every song, mot even one thats mediocre. One of my all time favourite albums.
Couldn't thank Brian for helping me through all my hard times more, because his music kept me going when i truly was ready to give up. I'm so grateful.

Joseph... Thank you for this. To be honest,I have never really listened to a whole podcast, not one that's over an hour, but I’m a Brian Fallon fan and you're interview style brought me in. I'm 67 years old and I’m working on a new career for myself and listening to this has really inspired me. Again, thank you...

Hope everything worked out, my friend. If not, stay up. Everything is a lesson and everything has reason to it.

I echo so many sentiments of the comments here already within the first five minutes. A friend heard him answering your question on 21 days and taking it beyond addiction and putting personal misery into something constructive and then said, "Who is that? He is saying some real shit right now!"
Can't wait to finish viewing and that moment was one I didn't want to forget to share.

Man oh man I'm a huge huge huge Brian Fallon fan I have followed him closely the last 13 years. When he speaks the way he thinks, the stuff he says, the music and bands he loves I think he's my twin but in a Male version it's like he's speaking vicariously through me no wonder I love him so much. He's good people 🙌🙌

Brian's "21 days" could easily be a theme song for many of these National Awareness organizations. For me my eating disorders keep trying to kill me- the song came out the day before the NEDA walk and it's all I could think about. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!

First time I laid eyes on Brian was watching the New Hyde concert. Brian looked so proud. Salt of the earth, truthful, amazingly talented. I've seen Brian in concert more than my forever love Bruce.

I couldn’t love this enough! Always wanted to hear Brian tell the story of how TGA started , never heard it before , and hearing he was 25 is awesome because you do feel old if you haven’t been signed yet as most bands were in there late teens. I’m 30 and in the process of a big music project , EP and music videos . Hope to write a song with Brian one day 😊♥️

Thank you for that conversation on gaslighting. It was SO eye opening. I looked it up and started googling examples and I just realized for the first time in my life that my ex of 3 years had done that to me and I thought I was maybe in the wrong this whole time. THANK YOU!!! Never heard of it before

Just a little heads up for New Yorkers interested in early NYC Bob Dylan. His very first performance in NYC was in the afternoon at a folk club on the northeast corner of Macdougal and Bleecker. It's now an Irish pub. It wasn't at the Gaslight or the Cafe Wha. His second performance was on the same day at night, at the Cafe Wha.
He would have had to make a bit of a name for himself in order to play The Gaslight. You didn't just stroll in and play that club. It was a small but pretty prestigious joint. And it still exists. It's a dark intimate lounge now but no live music.

Great interview, good questions, listened to entire podcast with full attention. Been a hard core Fallon fan since 2014 and just became a Joseph Arthur fan as well. Guys voice and vibe is soothing and seems like a genuine good dude. Keep up the good work !

When Brian references Stephen King and Time Out of Mind I feel like the two mouses on American Tail looking at the same moon.

1:40:20 I think Captain Beefheart had the most to do with Waits’ directional shift. Catherine Brennan has co-written with him since Swirdfishtrombones though. She’s definitely important, but the musical/rhythmic shift is definitely Beefheart

Do y'all realize how Awake Brian is? That's why he's talking so much about consciousness. I mean spiritually awake, not the stupid woke shit that so many claim to be.
