    They lay their eggs inside and then close them up for protection until next spring.

      I had bought my mom an insect hotel and I noticed the holes were clogged. I wondered what it was. Thanks for explaining!

    Do people collect the honey or it is just for fan hobby? How do you do that, if so?

      Solitaries bees/wasps don't produce honey :)
      They lay eggs in the holes and add honey/insects (some does produce honey, but in minimum amount to feed the future larva) and than they close the entrance until the newborn will open it from the inside and the cycle restart :)
      But, even if they're mot mass production of honey, they still impollinate very well :)

      It’s to help endangered species through lack of habitat. They are not honey bees, but good pollinators 👍🏻

      If you have an orchard their pollination services are worth quite a bit...
