Have fun in your gardens!

Had a smaller hotel last year which worked pretty well, but I've just purchased that very same hotel. Yours was probably the clearest explanation of its use. Many thanks :)
Thank you so much for watching and good luck with your hotel!! Happy Sunday 🐝 😎
I like your bee house and your dog!! Thanks for the tip about Gardener Scott. I'm in the U.S., in Northern California, about 20 minutes from San Francisco. ~Christine
Thanks so much for watching and commenting Christine! I have 2 dogs - the other one is asleep 23 hours a day 😁😁 I’ve been watching Gardener Scott for quite a while, he is such a lovely calm man 😁
Hi I’m from Indiana Loved the bees and insects home.
Hello there Sandy and thank you for watching all the way in India. Wishing you a wonderful weekend 🥰
Very very interesting about the life cicle for bees , I can’t believe how she lays the eggs , I’m telling you, the more I get older ,the more I like to watch things like this 😊. Anyways I’m trying to watch all the older videos from you , I don’t know why I didn’t discovered your channel before lol .
Good morning Maximo, it is just so fascinating isn’t it? And another thing I found out since is that at the end of the year the bees choose a new queen, they mate with her, she goes off and gorges on nectar then buries herself underground to hibernate, the old queen, the males and the female worker bees all die off, then the new queen wakes up in spring, lays eggs and it all starts up again. Isn’t nature fabulous? 😍
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener wow ,that’s interesting, you should make an other video ,like second part 😊, after I watched your videos you had me looking up how to make the bee hotels , im going to try to make my own next spring . I have made a birdhouses but never thought bees need a home too . Good morning, your friend, Maximo .
That is such a great idea!!
Love this video. Thank you
Hi there George and thank you 😍
I have one of these and the bees are actually bringing in pollen to it. It almost looks as if they are producing honey
Oh wow that’s amazing! You must be so pleased they love using it. Hope you’re having a great weekend 🥰
the volume is just fine on your video, not sure why the complaints. Also, you have a refreshingly soft speaking voice, no yelling and sharp, aggressive babbling, which I really appreciate. Maybe people are used to someone yelling and over-projecting?
Oh that’s reassuring to hear Greg thank you. The problem is I don’t have a mic, I did buy one but it had a lead and I kept forgetting and every time I moved it yanked out my ears 😆 then I wanted to get a wireless one but goodness me there are so many I always end up getting confused when I look. I must get one though but a good one is not cheap. So I think as long as it’s not too windy on the day it’s not too bad. I have had comments which I think are justified. But so nice of you to say it’s not that bad ♥️ happy Friday 👍😊
so touching for an excellent video
Thank you very much 😊
Wow ,that looks interesting 👍
Thank you #CreativeGardening, I hope the bees 🐝 and bugs🦟 agree with you 😁😁 hope you’re having a great day xx
Just ordered one of these... I really do hope that I'm not too late with this?? After all, we're in the middle of summer already.
I keep getting bumblebees smacking against my window... hopefully they'll find a new home here, and help my flowers to continue to grow.
Hi there Kevin, good luck with yours, I hope you get some action. 😍
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I finally got some action... but not the type of action that I was hoping for! 😁 Any suggestions on how to keep spiders away from the bee tunnels? I really appreciate spiders btw., so I'm not planning to harm them.
Oh that’s interesting! Well, I just googled that and it suggests petroleum jelly and/or sprinkle cinnamon or put a few cinnamon sticks in!! Hope that helps and do let me know 😊
Hello
Do you know i never knew that about bees. That old adage of we learn something new everyday is true. And the bees reuse the same hotel?
Sharon, this is my first ever bee hotel 🐝 and so far I have not seen one single bee or insect using it so that’s disappointing. I researched it so much and I know it’s in the right spot and everything, but I’m still optimistic that something uses it. I’ve seen on Facebook people only just noticing bees starting to use their ones so I think there’s still time 🤞
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener hi, any updates please? I'm really interested. Thank you so much.
Hello there, nothing in mine all year unfortunately. But I will keep hoping. I’ve answered your other message too 😍
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener thank you so much. Much appreciated.
Got that in my garden. Seems to be a spider hotel. But it’s still cute
Hello Earlwood, I put that up maybe 18 months ago and I don’t think I’ve even had a spider 🕷 🤣 let alone a bee 🐝 but yes, it looks pretty 🤣🤣
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener you need to put it somewhere behind bushes or among plants, then you’ll get some action. But yes, they are so cute looking
Aha! Thank you. 😍
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener and so? Did you relocate the “Hotel” and if so, any pollinators settling in a year later?
Good morning Greg! Lovely to hear from you, well I didn’t in the end, we removed it completely with the thought of getting or making a much better one - but of course we haven’t done it yet!! A little future project perhaps? Now that’s a good idea ♥️
Thank you so much for your video. I've just purchased one (each) of these for my children (I home Educate). The Box & instructions don't give great detail. I'm so glad I found your video as I've learnt so much more already. Do you think it will be too late to put them out now (we are in the North East - UK). Can these be used over and over for a few years or will they only last the one time? Also, ours came with paint and the paint has already been put on now (only on the centre part with slot and a hanging “welcome” type deco that came with it). It is children's paint so hopefully won't be an issue. Will the house attract wasps? Thank you so much.
Hello there and thank you so much for watching. I’m so glad to have helped and I’m sure your children are going to have a lot of fun with this. Well, that’s a very good question and I’ve just googled it! Apparantly the bees choose a new queen this time of year and she goes off after she’s mated and she’s gorged herself with nectar to use as fat stores and hibernates underground. The old queen, the male bees and the female worker bees all die off in their annual cycle. When the new queen wakes up in the Spring she goes off to finds a new house and starts laying eggs and off goes the whole process again. I think that is more like honey bees which require a big hive. But Then there are other types of solitary bees which spend the winter as pupae hibernating somewhere. Isn’t nature wonderful? So nothing is going to happen in your new little house this year but hopefully they will find your house in Spring. I don’t suppose the childrens paint you’ve used will hurt them. Good luck 🤞
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener thank you so much for all of your kind help. That was so kind of you to look it all up for me. Very much appreciated. I have subscribed to your channel. I am going to see what other nature videos you have. I totally agree, how nature is so beautiful 😍.
Thank you so much for subscribing. Always lovely to have a new gardening friend 😍
👌👌✨✨
Hello Rose Mary. This video is a real blast from the past 🤣🤣😍
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I was thinking of getting an insect and bee hotel and i wondered if you already had one, is yours still worth having?
I have never had a single bee in my hotel Rose Mary 🤣😫😜
Looks great, audio volume is very low
Hi there and thanks for watching. Yes you are right about the volume, it’s an old video though and hopefully I have managed to improve the sound since. Always good to have feedback though. Have a great day 😊
plz check volume before you start filming
Hello Fleed, you are quite right! This video was a very long time ago and the sound was not good - I was still trying to learn how to do everything 😊 I do need to get myself a mic still. Thank you for your valuable feedback 😊
