Pierre Poilievre calls for tariffs on Chinese-made EVs, steel - August 9, 2024

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre vows that a Conservative government would protect jobs by matching U.S. tariffs on Chinese-produced electric vehicles (EVs) and EV components, including steel and aluminum. The announcement takes place in Hamilton, Ont., at the city’s Stelco steel plant.
Following the press conference, Poilievre introduces Ned Kuruc and Erika Alexander, two Conservative candidates who will run in Hamilton-area ridings during the next federal election.
