Honestly, 'Crown Jewel' would work just fine for the name of a PLE that has the KOTR and QOTR tournaments. Why not just bring that event up to the first half of the year and then give the second Saudi PLE of the year a different name? Maybe 'Night of Champions' like last year?

The First Queen Of The Ring Tournament was in Saudi Arabia, I think Zelina Vega won that.
I want to see Gunther vs Randy Orton, Tama Tonga winning doesn't do much storywise. Orton vs Gunther is much for appealing.
I can see Orton winning and bloodline coating him against gunther
Tama winning could definitely push the story forward depending on how he does it. If they cheat as a team to win, they could get both Gunther and Randy against them, you could add in a Kaiser and Dragunov into that mix to even the odds as it gives a reason for Jacob Fatu to join. It also furthers the story of who even gets to wear the crown. Is it Tama cause he was the one in the tournament? Is it Solo because he’s the current leader? Does no one wear it and they hold onto it until the Rock comes back, boom The Rock now has the crown and he can connect that to the throne (triple H and Cody) or even connect it to Stone Cold who is the most famous and iconic King of the ring.
If I had to bet money I see Gunther winning straight up and just using the crown like another midcard title though.

Gunther vs. Orton was the finals I wanted to see from the start of the tournament, Tonka Trucks doesn't need this lol. Judging by that pre-match segment he had on SmackDown last week, he could use a promo class, instead.
This year marks the 35 Anniversary of Tito Santana winning the King of the Ring and the 30th Anniversary of Owen Hart winning it.

Iyo should have won, it was a perfect fit. She had the little crown finger gesture, her “bow down to the queen” sounded so evil. She could have milked this for a year while they figure out the Raw women’s title.
She got mad n was grumbling in japanese ab the ref it was kinda funny she’ll be ight tho she slowly growing on me

If it wasn't Iyo I was expecting TIFFY TIME to win. Now i worry it will be the return of Mabel with Queen Nia Snax or Super Cena Blair winning.

It was Gables Story in the first place. They slapped Sami in to steal the entire program after he just decided to ignore that drew hospitalized him for months.
I don’t dislike Sami, but for some reason everyone feels the need to “give Sami his moment”. He won the NXT championship back when NXT was red hot, he got to wrestle Cena in his hometown and be introduced by Bret fucking Hart, he was a key part in the biggest, hottest angle in the company with The Bloodline, he got to wrestle Roman one on one, he main evented night one of Wrestlemania 39 with his best friend and they won the belts…I like the guy well enough but how many fucking storybook moments is this guy owed?

Gunther needed to drop the belt and move on to other things.
Gable needed to turn heel and the belt.
The IC needed a transitional babyface champion that won’t be hurt by dropping the belt right away.
@@humbleguy1533 A lot of the ppl frothing mad over Sami beating Gunther all fail to understand these fairly simple points. I would've loved to see Gable win the title at WM, but the right guy faced Gunther and won.
Lyra vs Iyo was the high point of last Monday's show. The fans seemed to be really into the match. I think it'll be Lyra vs Nia Jax in the final. Bianca doesn't need to win this tournament.
Agreed, I hope they give Sky-Valkyria a fair watch, because it was a good match. I haven't seen a lot of Lyra, but I like her work from what I have seen.
There's no way Corny watches that match. It has a Japanese wrestler and they're both "tiny."
Lyra vs Zoey was the highest viewed segment last week on Raw as well
I worry Nia winning the Queen of the Ring will be the second coming of Mabel. I do agree Super Cena Blair doesn't need the win, but she and Jade are all over the promo art. If they weren't going to push IYO or Tiffy TIME, Lyra seems the right choice.

From ring general to king general, Gunther for the win
Gunther will win kotr, as the German ple this summer will be built around him and there's been plans since late 2022 to eventually transition Gunther to the world title picture.
Which is one of the reasons they had to get the IC belt off him at WM.
A meaningless "world title" that has no prestige, no legitimacy, no history. That isn't needed and shouldn't have been created in the first place.
Which logically is less prestigious than the WWE Intercontinental heavyweight championship he just lost. Only the WWE championship that Cody Rhodes holds is a legitimate bigger championship.
@@anonymousbo0318 Yep and it being introduced as participant trophy was more worst. But I think if it's built around guys like Punk, Drew and Gunther it will gain back it's prestige and elevate it.
Roman Reigns made the Blueberry Title meant something to fight for and elevate it. So I believe it can still get back in track.
WWE eventually realised they made a error at WM38 by unifying the belts and they backed themselves into a corner.
In all fairness.the Seth/Drew feud gave the new title some credibility, if Drew wins it back at the castle ple, the Drew and CM Punk feud should add to that.
He would beat Cody there in a perfect world.

Because Orton has been a star in WWE for two decades and has every other accomplishment. He'll be at the same level win or lose. Harley won it to establish him after arriving to the company and was also given the King gimmick which Randy is not going to be using.
It would definitely help elevate kotr for what it means and the value having a legend like orton winning. But I think with gunther it helps gunther and the status of kotr

A minor correction needs to be made to what Brian said at 3:25; it would actually be his SECOND ever televised loss. His first came at the hands of none other than Bron Breakker in NXT(which was also Gunther's final match on that brand). Decent match too. Bron beat him clean as a sheet.
To answer brians first question yes it would benefit gunther winning the kotr after loosing the ic title, the kotr was made a ppv tournament as an apology to bret hart as he wasn't supposed to loose the wwf title at wm9 and it worked out for him why not gunther.
That joke at the end was atrocious hahahahaha
King and Queen of The Ring is not a good name for a show. They should just rename the PLE while keeping both tournaments

Of all the people who need it most, Nia Jax needs to become Queen of the Ring. It gives her a new gimmick that she can play off, and sets her up for a push.
But knowing the WWE, they’re just going to give it to Bianca, even though she doesn’t even remotely need it. They’re just determined to push this woman as the greatest superstar of all time, and I really don’t know why.
More WWE discussion and less AEW please. Mr Cornette can speak s out whatever he wants obv, but Corny and Brian do more to put AEW over and make it interesting than AEW does.

9:20 Im kinda really surprised by this. Logan Paul had some close calls with Ricochet in that table spot. Then with Rey Mysterio. Cody Rhodes is a pretty safe worker so should be fine but still seems like Paul is kinda reckless

Gunther vs Orton is the second most interesting thing going on post-WM right behind Punk/Drew. I cannot wait for this lull to move on, there isn't anything else going on that isn't god awful.

@@BUPMY1 It absolutely has. I get we're in the typical lull after WM but in years past, this is when those smaller mid-card feuds would turn up a little more to fill in until the main event scene was refueled.

I think Orton is going to win cause you can always give Gunther the MTIB. If Orton wins he'll get a title match at SummerSlam vs Cody/ They can tell a good summer story with the former Legacy mates. For the woman looks like Bianca will win then go on to beat Bayley. This would set up a female Mega Powers storyline where the tag champs will start to feud for the WWE women's title at Mania a la Hogan and Macho Man. Just my predictions. I really don't like Gunther losing again but the other way makes for more intriguing story.

I honestly think Logan will win the title since Summer Slam is in his home town of Cleveland and he's on the poster. Cody will win back the title from hin at SS.
You can do a Queen of the Ring, but the name “King and Queen of the Ring” is way too clunky to repeatedly be said out loud. Just have the men call it King of the Ring and the women call it Queen of the Ring.
Either call it King of the Ring or retire the name entirely. Adding the Queen part feels like their just stapling it for inclusions sake.

You are right, the special matches like royal rumble/elimination chamber/tlc and such should just be done for women only now to keep special matches truly special, there's no reason to do both, men's wrestling will be fine without them

Don't get me wrong, I know Homeless Sami Lame will sadly and unfortunately retain. However, by all means, he should lose it. He was the worst choice to dethrone Gunther and he's pretty much modern Mick Foley, minus everything that made Foley likeable and worthy of a Title. Bronson Feed shouldn't win it either. Chad Gable deserves it (so does Sheamus but he's not in the match, so that's an irrelevant point).
@TheAnonymousIndividual I agree SZ was the wrong choice. They must have known before hand Ilja and Breaker were going to be drafted to RAW. It should have been one of them to dethrone GUNTHER if it wasn't Gable or Shaemus last year.

As much as I'd want to see Gunther win, and rightfully so... I'm a little tempted to consider having Randy win simply to have him claim one of the only remaining accolades that there really is left to win in the WWE.
