even when they win, the jays bullpen insist on giving everybody a heart attack. nine baserunners in the last three innings, runners on 2nd and 3rd with just one out in both of the last two innings, no runs score, bases left loaded every time. credit where credit is due i guess. also massive kudos to nate pearson for inheriting two runners with no outs and emerging unscathed. one day i will have a heart attack watching this team, but today i lived. hooray.

Man what a great game for both teams! Had Raley's hit not one-hopped the wall in the 9th the M's would have pulled off a victory. It was a great game to go to!!
Blowing leads, striking out more than they should, and stranding too many runners...not exactly what I call a "great game" where the Seattle frauds are concerned.
Yes if the ball had not hopped so high I think 2 runs would've scored. Horrible luck
@@AngusArtEntertainment May have been an okay game in ways, but it really felt like the disaster you described. Infuriating we couldn't get someone across home plate with the bases loaded up so many times

The offense was there today to get the W just couldn’t get anyone past third in the last 3 innings. Pretty crazy that they had the bases loaded multiple innings with no runners scoring. That double by Raley almost ended the game. Either way 3 straight home series loses and most of those not due to the pitching.
As a west coast jays fan who also loves the M's this was a weird one for me this year. Let's face it...Jays aren't making the playoffs this year baring a miracle comeback. Part of me was pulling for the M's to win these games just
because they need the wins more. I'd really love to see the M's finally get that first WS. It's been too long. Hopefully they can either find their offense or get a couple of bats in a trade. The pitching is obviously there. I think that series against the O's was more telling than this one against the Jays. Jays players were fired up because of the crowd. That O's series showed what the M's will be up against if they make the playoffs. Pitching and hitting working at the same time. M's need to get to that, and they can I think.
Call me crazy, but this felt like a potential season-changing win!! At any rate, it was huge!! With how much our offence has struggled, coming back after the M's went up 4-1 was crazy, and the Jays wrung every ounce of drama out of this one to win! Hopefully the good times continue in San Fran. Additionally, that ground rule double was a huge break for us in the 9th, and congratulations to Jimenez on his first two career hits!! That second one proved to be extremely important!!
Can we just take a moment to think about how sad it would be to never be in a world series 😭

Blue jays have two home ball parks.

And Minnesota. And Cleveland (sometimes). You'll even hear "Let's Go Blue Jays" chants at Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium. Blue Jays fans travel well and cheer loudly. Also, there are a lot of Canadians living and working in the USA, so that helps, too.

Yeah the strikeouts are getting out of hand. You let go the 3 biggest strikeout leaders on the team last year and still lead the league in strikeouts. Hitting .217 as a team is absolutely disgusting. Every other game I hear that the mariners opposing pitcher has a career high in strikeouts.

Frustrating series, especially this game, with missed opportunities for virtually everyone in the lineup. Something like 15 LOB for the game? We make "the 2nd worst bullpen in baseball" look pretty good. And wasted another great Kirby start.
Mariners just are not good enough. They should have made some trades to get some superstars to compete for the World Series this year. But instead they are always satisfied with the status quo which means even though they should make the playoffs thats where it will end.

yeah really chill out. I'm a Jays fan but the M's are my 2nd favorite, and trust me, better to be the M's than the Jays right now. Part of me was actually pulling for the M's to take these games just because they need the wins more, but still, they're in great shape for the rest of the season. And don't underestimate the effect of Jays fans on the effort level of the Jays players. If that series were played against any other team the Jays probably lose those games....lol. M's pitching looks amazing. Maybe they need a couple of bats, but they can win the west. It's LOOONG season....lots of ups and downs.

I know....as a west coast jays fan who has the M's as my number 2, I was a little torn this series. The Ws are kind of more important for the M's right now and I really want to see them win a world series. But, you gotta get the job done and they didn't. Fun series overall.

Mariner management is the worst in baseball history. Out of touch with their own players. And when those players speak up about a need for a bat they get traded or quieted. When a superstar struggles they demote rather than support him. When a rookie is just feeling the confidence necessary to be great in those leagues, Service pulls him from the lineup for a batter hitting a buck and change. Ugh!

Agree. I'm a Jays fan but I want tech calling balls and strikes, not umps. I wince every time an ump misses a call, even if it's in the Jays' favor, because I feel for the hitter / pitcher who got ripped off. With tech, both pitchers and hitters get the same strike zone every game. No sense arguing balls and strikes because there's video evidence. Fair for everyone.
Seattle and the bases loaded is what's called bush league.
You can't blame service for his hitters not hitting but dipoto should get the chop for sitting on his thumb. The only thing he's done in the last year is trade our lights out reliever for people who aren't helping drive in runs.

M's offensive ineptitude continues. Garver & Robles had good days but nobody else really pulled their weight. Again, I will ask why Polanco is still on the team - waste of a roster spot. Julio needs to be able to control his own strike zone before barking about other players'. M's nevertheless hang onto first for another day. Go M's!

I am going to call it that Richard's is gambling on the side or in some kind of financial trouble with gambling and he throws games because what he pitches looks like he is selling games there is no other way he should be investigated because I saw him throw about 4 games this season Richard's should be at the top of the list for trades ASAP he isn't worth keeping around he isn't good enough for major league teams

He can miss routine pop ups at 1st or 3rd.
Dumb move. Guerrero has a great glove and 1B. Leave him there. He's not a utility infielder. For that matter, pick a position for Schneider and let him get good at it, provided you don't want to sit him because he's ice cold at the plate - then again, Jays aren't making the playoffs this season, so you might as well get the players you plan on keeping next year some ABs.

Vlads playing 3rd?!?! I really dont think the Jays will sell... (heard they just renovated their stadium in a huge way and now must sell tickets) if The Jay do sell Vlad, the fact that he can play 3rd "good enough," the Ms need to pull the trigger! Locklear, a top pitching prospect who will be MLB ready next year like Mike Morales AND make them take Polonco could slam the WS window wide open this year. Vlad Jr. at 3rd or 1st, Rojas at 2nd (D-Mo platoons if necessary) Or D-Mo the everyday 2nd baseman and the black hole Polonco off the team would give the Ms exactly what they need to fix the lineup and compliment the best starting 5 in baseball. The Ms SP 2-5 have to be the best value in the entire MLB. They have to pay for offense with that saved money, just like NFL teams and star QBs years 1-5. THE WRITING IS IN THE, Ms OWNER SHIP NEED TO OPEN THEIR EYES AND ADD REAL OFFENSIVE DIFFERENCE MAKERS. The money earned from getting to a WS or 3 over the the next 5-10 year, selling out T-Mobile park with 40K+ tickets each and every game for the next 5-10 years would cover the $250 million for 8+ years for Vlad Jr., the $350 million combined for Kirby and Gilbert for them to stay until early-mid 30s and the $120 million for the Raliegh extension to mids his 30s. If the time to do all of that isn't now, there will never be a time. None of this 54% winning percentage BS... go for 60% winning percentage and get that WS WIN or 3. Ms fans are loyal,almost to a fault. If the Ms front office jumps in both feet first the fans will go full belly flop and love every second of it!!!! JUST DO IT Ms!!! NOW IS THE TIME!!!! GoMs!!!!
