The cement company would not hire me because they said I had no OFF ROAD EXPERIENCE even though I have had to on several occasions drive through mud pits to unload tractors,etc. So a few months later they hired a friend of mine that was fresh out of driving school with NO DRIVING EXPERIENCE. In the 8 months he was there he rolled a cement truck, broke his arm. Then later on he stuffed a cement shoot into the cab of a truck that was behind him. Yes I called the company and asked how that worked out for them. They hung up.

If you’ve been turning wrenches that long you’ve probably seen just about everything. I had a driver once pull the air filter cover on a Mack and put a rolled up newspaper in there. He called dispatch and said he couldn’t catch the job because his truck was smoking. When I got to his place it took about ten minutes to fix the problem. I was pissed because it took me over two hours to drive to his place and back to the shop.

@@kennythompson9682 takes a fairly heavy dose of oil in the fuel system to make a noticable change in smell to the exhaust, depending on the machine it could easily be missed.

We just had a couple of units transferred from a different location that needed repair, and they took a starter off that I'd installed a few months before to use on another unit. That cost the company the freight plus another starter and labor to install. They could've had another starter ordered, but let us foot the bill.
One day I was at my work and my buddy looks at me and points across the parking lot and says, "You see that over there, thats an SEP field." I said "What?" He chuckles and says, "Someone Else's Problem, we push this over there and it is no longer our concern." and then we proceeded to push the problem over there and wipe our hands of it.
The SEP field was invented by Douglas Adams it is an energy field that you surround something with that would tell anyone looking in that direction that it was Someone Else's Problem, thereby making the object invisible to the casual observer.

I got off a job site a month ago. They had to schedule the work around planning on a piece of equipment breaking and taking up to a week to get it fixed.

as a shop mechanic who works on united rentals and sunbelt pieces everyday this is an all to familiar diagnosis when brought in. most the time im not even mad about the work but more upset i didnt get to talk to the person and get the story on something i havent seen happen before.

This system has been work great for me for the last 10 years. I know this is something completely different but he tells me all the time about "it wouldn't start" and it has mud in the air box... 😂😂😂

As a Service Technician with United Rentals I can confirm that nonsense happens daily lol. Though there is a slight tweak to this Ill add. I don't called to look at the broken excavator I get called out to look at a forklift with a dead battery when Im done as I pack up my tools then they tell me hey can you look at this excavator it doesnt start.......
Back about 1998 I had a friend who delivers an excavator to a job site out of state. It was on a 3 axle lowboy. So when he got to the job site he unhooked the chains and broke apare the trailer for the operator to unload in the morning. He had pulled over out of the way. Next morning the operator screwed up and Hit the wrong lever. The drivers alarm clock was the excavator bucket knocking the cab of the truck off the frame with the driver inside.
I applied to a rental company got a call back. Asked the hiring manager how he was doing and he said "well working in this field is like trying to make chicken scratch out of chicken shit." I did not go to that interview.

Drove concrete for 2 years and at no time were they concerned about off road experience as turnover rate is extremely high
