    And one more thing, my country, Poland, was the first to help them. They received from Poland over 400 tanks, several dozen planes and many other equipment, ammunition supplies, small arms, vests, helmets and food rations. And from day one, Poland accepted Ukrainian civilians fleeing from Ukraine, all over 8 million women, children and elderly people.Poles, civilians from the first day, from the heart, drove their own cars, went to the border and took Ukrainians to their own homes.Thousands of Poles used their own money to buy food, personal items, clothes, toys for children, literally everything, everything new, of course, and took it to the border crossing with Ukraine for those Ukrainians who were fleeing the war.On the border, Polish civilians themselves organized aid stations with hot meals and gifts.And as I wrote, Poles, civilians, not the state but ordinary civilians, took them to their homes, to their families, and not to immigrant camps as other countries do.And these were millions of Ukrainian women, children and elderly people. The world has never seen anything like this, anywhere.And today Ukrainians say that Americans and British were the first to help them?Have they already forgotten about this help?For me it is incomprehensible and even disgusting.

    • @DonVito591
      @DonVito591 Před 5 měsíci

      Ok, so one Ukrainian soldier at the end said America and Britain were the first. That does not mean all Ukrainians think that way, and I don't think he purposefully forgot about all the wonderful things Poles have done either. To assume he had some malicious intent is wrong, and I'm confident if you asked him directly about his thoughts on what Poland has done from the beginning, he will have nothing but good things to say.
      I am Polish as well (I live in the states). I agree that Poland has gone to extraordinary lengths to help Ukraine. That should never be forgotten. I would be wary of anyone pushing the narrative or "news" online that Ukrainians have forgotten. There is propaganda meant to break alliances and weaken relationships. Russia is very interested in wearing us all down and finding any weakness -- and then exploiting it.

      While I understand and agree with you, I also understand he probably said it that way because he knew he was speaking to an American audience and was trying to make strong impression of their gratefulness. Also understand that I'm sure there is a lot from the interview that was not aired because of time constraints. 60 Minutes also knows it is for an American audience so they will edit accordingly. So even if he did say "thank you to Poland our #1 supporter" that may've not made the cut for this broadcast.

    • @josephlee6159
      @josephlee6159 Před 5 měsíci +12

      Well this is American TV mostly broadcasted to English speakers, so naturally the person was thinking of saying thanks to the Americans (also British by association). I'm sure if the person is being interviewed by Polish TV instead, he will be thanking Poland. Furthermore, the USA and Britian provided arms to Ukraine *before* the war had even started - anti-tank missiles like nlaw and Javelin were provided by Britian and the US weeks and months before Putin invaded. Reuters reported on 25 January 2022 (before the war!) that "UNITED STATES has provided over $2.5 billion in military aid since 2014" and "BRITAIN last week supplied a reported 2,000 short-range anti-tank missiles and sent British specialists to deliver training"

      @@likemostthings We gave them almost 50% of our weapons, which was risky in a situation where Poland also borders with Russia. And the most important thing is that Poland did it immediately at a time when Ukraine needed help the most at the beginning of the war, after Ukraine had lost most of its equipment and was in a critical situation.We gave them Russian equipment modernized by Poland, because they knew this equipment and could use it immediately.If we gave them our F-16s, what could they do with them if they didn't know this equipment?They would put these F-16s at the airport and the sight of them would deter the Russians? Because they wouldn't be able to fly them without several months of training.Moreover, Poland could not give such equipment to Ukraine without the consent of those who sold it to Poland, such are the international agreements.And it was the US that did not agree to hand over the F-16 at that time..Poland transferred new and modern Polish howitzers with tracks and armored vehicles to Ukraine because they were of Polish design. And Poland did not have to ask for the consent of the manufacturer of this equipment.The Americans and the West waited too long to give the equipment to Ukraine and, in addition, Ukraine needed a few more months to train its soldiers on this equipment. Do you think the Russians would have waited these few months??????So think about what nonsense you are writing.And Poland wanted to buy the F-16, giving the Migi without waiting in a situation when the Polish armed forces were very weakened in this situation.Polish Mig pilots were already trained on F-16s, so they could use them immediately.So please don't write nonsense if you lack knowledge.

Such as the $50+ billion Ukraine aid the EU wanted to approve yesterday. NATO has also been supporting Ukraine as much as possible. The U.S. however has the most resources abd financial strength, so it's understandable why we end up sending the most. The Bradleys were built in the 1980s. The 20 ATACMS were all built before 1997. The accountants don't give a depreciated value because there's no Blue Book. But the Bradleys and M1s were in long term storage, the ATACMS were taken off the active list and were about to be dismantled. We don't have to dismantle them now, it actually saves us money. Finally, those weapons were designed and built specitifcally to FIGHT THE SOVIETS/RUSSIANS. Now that conflict is here and some people don't want to use them for that specific purpose? It's so dumb. This report should be about the US Govt regime change / coup in 2014, speaking constantly with a "forked tongue" and preventing the Ukraine Govt from signing the peace agreement in March 2022. The aggressor is the US Govt. Russia is defending itself and its ethnic Russian brothers and sisters. Ukraine would be intact -- except for Crimea for obvious watch-out-for-the-US Govt reasons. The US Govt put these people -- all Ukrainians in Ukraine -- in harms way. Russia intervened on their behalf and as the US Govt and its NATO puppets got involved, Russia responded. While the story you are telling may be accurate the language you are using to tell it alters the context away from truth to propaganda. WTF

      Make sure you let everyone know that. Because the GOP blames the cost and how it would be better to spend it on Americans....So, you let them know that the billions promised to Ukrainians DID go to Americans. Since the U.S. makes the weapons the U.S. Govt is taking U.S. tax dollars and purchasing U.S. weapons made by U.S. Cilivilans in 12 states.
      "According to the map, obtained by POLITICO, Pennsylvania has received $2.364 billion in investments to build munitions and tactical vehicles for Ukraine, the most of any state. Meanwhile, Arizona is a close second with $2.259 billion. Texas and Arkansas received $1.449 billion and $1.478 billion, respectively, while Florida got $1.011 billion."

    I understand that Americans question where their tax dollars are going. I, as a Swede, also question my politicians why we give away so much money to immigrants and their families here in Sweden and to other countries.
    But something that you don't notice, since you are more or less on a large island, an aggressive enemy at the border. As many of the European countries do with Russia. And it is noticeable that Americans do not understand that Russians are not like Westerners, they do not work in the same way as us in the West. The Russian only understands one thing, who is the strongest, who has "the power". if you want to stop the Russian, then you have to knock him to the ground, and when he stands up you must knock him to the ground at least one more time. Because the Russians do not give up. they are persistent, brutal and hard. not at all like us measly Westerners. If the US leaves Ukraine in the lurch now, then all the billions of dollars you invested in Ukraine will be blown away. You don't leave a house to decay and let the investment disappear while the house rots away, do you?
    That's what it will do if you stop helping Ukraine. and it ends up that we in Europe will be at war with Russia. This means that Article 5 of the NATO agreement becomes active. Then the US must send soldiers to fight.
    It is "its a fool's cheapness" to withdraw aid to Ukraine. The US will have to pay in even more dollars, but also with American lives when Article 5 is activated by the NATO countries in Europe.

      In this comprehensive analysis, the unfolding events in Ukraine post-2014 shed light on Russia's blatant disregard for international norms and laws. Ever since Putin ascended to power, a resurgence of imperialist geopolitical motives became evident, reshaping Russia's view of Ukraine as a mere extension of its sphere of influence. Despite Ukraine's sovereign status following the Soviet Union's collapse, Russian elites persisted in considering it an inevitable part of Russia's realm.
      Putin's response to Ukraine's pro-Western leanings, notably during the 2004 Orange Revolution and later the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, exemplifies Russia's intolerance of Ukrainian independence. Exploiting post-revolutionary chaos, Russia annexed Crimea through a dubious referendum conducted under the guise of legitimacy but backed by a visible presence of Russian troops.
      Subsequently, Russia aimed to destabilize Eastern Ukraine, fomenting separatist sentiments in regions like Donbas. Through support of local oligarchies and manipulation of pro-Russian sentiment, Russia orchestrated the emergence of political entities aligned with its interests. Orchestrated incidents, including the takeover of administrative buildings by pro-Russian groups and the subsequent military intervention, underscored external interference and orchestrated upheaval in the region.
      Russia's direct involvement escalated with the covert deployment of troops, arming of separatists, and orchestrating armed conflicts in Donbas, all while denying its role. Evidence of Russian troops' involvement, leaked phone conversations, and the downing of a civilian aircraft affirmed Russia's active military participation, leading to international outcry and accusations of violating sovereignty and international law.
      Moreover, Russia's continuous denial of involvement and manipulation of peace negotiations, despite signed agreements like the Minsk Protocols, further exemplified a lack of adherence to diplomatic solutions and disregard for international accords. The collapse of ceasefires and continued military actions exposed Russia's insincerity and non-compliance with international resolutions.
      In summary, Russia's actions in Ukraine, from annexation to covert military interventions, have systematically violated Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The orchestrated chaos, armed interventions, and denial of involvement in the face of evidence underscore Russia's blatant disregard for international laws and norms, perpetuating conflict and instability in the region. czcams.com/video/dLQsi-0abp0/video.html
