I didn't realize BG3 dragonborn can have tails. I feel like some people never liked that. Some players I knew were stubborn about what a dragonborn could or couldn't be. I'm pretty sure in Forgotten Realms Canon, they don't usually have tails, but rarely, they could have them, though it was seen as a deformity. When you play home games, you can use or modify settings however you want. Dragonborn may have tails, or not even exist. Maybe having a tail is standard and the deformity is not having one. But generally, if a character wants to make small cosmetic or mechanical choices that affect the world, I would let them. Maybe I planned on using standard forgotten realms, but a dragonborn player wants a tail with limited prehensile abilities, then I would probably let them.
@@Grim_Bud i once had scratch die in camp in one game. Forgot about it and then when i loaded it up and tried to throw the ball. Astarions line broke my heart, it was something along the lines of "why isnt the stupid dog here to fetch the stupid ball?" and he sounded so upset
Showing the true reason why we have 2 hands: To pet 2 good bois at the same time I like calling the owlbear Munch, cause he likes to bite. Munch and Scratch
@@baz1388 I really want to, but I’m not sure if the main game will align with the types of games I like to play. Another, slightly smaller reason, is that while I want to romance characters, I don’t want to… for lack of a better way to put it, have sex with them. I’m not adverse to innuendos or themes involving abuse, but I don’t always feel comfortable with intimate scenes.
First time i came past this scene, and i got angry for a second because i thought the owlbear ate scratch, but it was a glitch that caused his head to not render.
I kind of wish these 2 stuck together in the epilogue. Iirc, it seems like Scratch loves in the city with some people, and the Owlbear Cub (who isn't so little anymore) is happy to go with Halsin or Shadowheart.
I think I've seen Shadowheart talk about them both being with her in some epilogue vids, so maybe it depends on some hidden approval rating? I wouldn't put it past them, she has more approval versions than any other companion. Standard, parents, night song ect....
You can find them in the cave. It's under the blighted village. There are a trio of people, one of which the momma owlbear got. It's near there, over a river you can walk thru (a coffin, mergrass and leather boots in the water near there) If you go inside, you can fight momma, or speech check your way out. If you don't fight and come back after a couple long rests, the goblins will have taken momma out, but the cub won't be around. You can find him then at the goblin camp, replacing the chickens in chicken chase (he just ate the last chicken, lol) Can talk to him with 'speak with animals' when you play chicken chase, and tell him to run betweenthe sticks at that end, where it's safe. Then he can turn up at your camp after, but you have to feed him when eh first arrives iirc
"speak with animals" is a must-have
As a Druid, I wholeheartedly agree
Bards learn the spell early on in the game too! Definitely worth playing as a bard because they have a lot of useful skills!
It is my most important spell of the game. Even if I don’t play a class with the spell I get the ritual caster for my first feature

Agreed
It's that nonchalant way he said it that kills me.
Yup, these things happen.
Well you can't take life too seriously.
It's a mom eat son world out there.
This is why if you aggro Scratch absolutely everyone in camp turns on you - as they rightfully should.
Even Minthara, her dialogue if scratch dies is heartbreaking.

Munch and Scratch
I named my owlbear Itch because where there is an itch, there is a scratch

The fact that you get an achievement for petting both of them at the same time is the best thing ever.
My game bugged right after this dialogue by never showing me the owlbear cub ever again in my camp 😢

Best achievement in the game 🥰
Yes it is.
_I want an owlbear._
Me too!
You emphatically do not. At least grizzly bears will eat stuff aside from meat some of the time.
@@empiriscissors You don't know what I want.
Dude they said emphatically. That is not a word said lightly!
Stuffed owlbear toy.
All the cute, none of the terror of it eating your next door neighbour's cat, dog or kids.
And no stepping in poop piles, ether.
When I discovered that interaction, I was first surprised and then I laughed. 🤣
I don't care what fate awaits me, these two are not allowed to die.
You had a big brother?
Owl bear: used too....mother ate him

Cutscenes like this make me REALLY want to play this game
You can play a half dozen times and still find brand new things. It's so fun. Look up the djinni jungle sequence!
Seriously play it you won't be disappointed
