In this woodworking project, I take on the challenge of building a custom bathroom vanity from scratch, using a single sheet of cherry plywood. The assembly is quick with pocket hole screws, and I add unique touches by making doors that tie the cabinet into the overall bathroom design.

I love your design aesthetic. I appreciate seeing design as part of woodworking process (even using power tools, pocket holes, and robots 🙀) more than I appeciate someone who proudly only uses only handtool skills but makes boring looking furniture. Great job.
David began the year with a banger and is ending 23’ with another.
David had a “Pro-Bowl” woodworking year.
I'll take that! THANKS!
Pls film everything! The bath reno, living rm, kitchen bedrooms and all the furniture, cabinets, etc. etc. etc. I’m thoroughly enjoying these and it gives great ideas too. I hope you film building a true wood shop with mitre stations, wood storage, cabinets floor to ceiling in mid century modern vibes
One of a kind that place will be very nice when you are done just hope you get good renters who take care of it.
It sounds so silly but "Sand in the place where you live" is always my favourite running thing in your videos
This bit never gets old!
Order a couple replacement shower curtains now because those doors are awesome.
Bravo on the longer-than-usual “Sand in the place…”
Love it dude, looks badass
You mentioning how long you've been sponsored by SS made me realize I've been watching for almost a decade. Time flies.
Back in the drunken woodworker days
I believe I'd order about 10 more of those shower curtains! Looks great!
That was my thought too. Then when one wears out you still have matching ones. You could even have 2 or 3 in rotation so that one can be cleaned while another is in use (assuming they are just cloth decorative ones and there is a vinyl waterproof one inside the shower).
Classic Picciuto!
I approve of this message.
definitely buying that vanity when I stay at the house
🤣
Wow. Great way to customise a cabinet. 👏🏼🌟
STUNNING
Really nice. Good luck on this new adventure.
That vanity is highly aesthetically pleasing! Love the doors' design and I think it would still look great even if the shower curtain changes.
How come I can only give one thumbs up? This one deserves at least 5 thumbs up. Love what you do Dave!
Thumbs up for the wiggle saw.
I love that design of the vanity, whether it came from a shower curtain or not.
You forgot to start the drill with the screw before you put it in the wood. Rookie.
I know, I know!!!
IMMEDIATELY go buy a 10 pack of those shower curtains! Cause they look so nice together.....
Been loving this series. Would be awesome to see some dressers, console tables, etc… inspired by some for the band saw boxes in your book, especially the Milan box on the cover.
Looks great. The rental is moving along faster than I had expected. Good to have "a guy"...
Love the matching designs. This entire house aesthetic is definitely a favorite style for me!
Don't let them see that flex pipe going into the p trap.
Was thinking the exact same thing when I saw it. I was like "Noooo."
Basing the doors off a shower curtain may be unconventional, but it turned out amazing, great job!
"That shower curtain really tied the room together."
I love the design on the door matching the curtain but those knobs not being level is also driving me crazy. Great video!
I think the uneven door knobs are what I like about the cabinet the most. 😀
That was a really good idea extending the shower curtain design to the door fronts. Looks great, Dave~!
LOVE this Series, can't wait for more.
I realy like thats its matching
That's dope! Came out great!
You mentioned the shower curtain in the podcast last week, but I was not expecting this. Love how you duplicated the design on the cabinet doors. Looks really cool. Thanks for sharing!
Love the design. I think it would be cheaper to have some second team shower curtains on hand, though.
A faucet for $30? I'd be scared. We love Dan.
Love that design!
I’m not gonna lie. I did not like the design of the doors until you explained how you got the idea and now I love that it ties in with that shower curtain.
Another great build in the series dig the look of the doors for sure. Great job. Can’t wait to see what you do next
ORAMASK is a product that might work for your cabinet door design. Use a sharp cutter and smooth surface for the ORAMASK to get an excellent adherence. The front design reminds me of the 1920s 🙂
Oramask for sure. You can rout through it and leave it in place for pouring or brushing finish into the rout.
Love the music
Its an intetesting design kept elegantly simple, love it!
Love the design on the cabinet doors! Even cooler that it matches the shower curtain!
The cabinet looks great. Love the work, keep it coming.
Super nice David!
I like to put a speed square against the work to guide the jig saw.
Awesome work on that cabinet David! Looking forward to the series and watching you build, screw up along the way, and build some more good stuff! 👍👍😉😉🔨🔨
Very nicely done cabinet. Stay well and safe in 2024.
Awesome design. I'm currently mulling over an entertainment cabinet design for under the TV so this is inspiring. Thanks
Nice work! Cool design ..👍👍💪💪😎😎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Super cool!
O boy, He's a resin channel now. Haha. Love the work.
Just wait until you see the next video. 😁
Amazing work, Dave! It really looks fantastic! 😃
I hope you had a great Christmas! And happy new year!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
love it man!!!!
Awesome.
Looks great man! Merry Christmas
Very nice!
Awesome!! Been waiting on a new video!! Happy new years!
Happy new year!!
Loved the video and process you went through for the design. If you haven’t already buy 4-5 of the shower curtains. Should give you a few years before you have to make new doors.
Slick!
Recommend QR codes to the project video for each item as you walk around the rental.
Bonjour, c'est vraiment très beau 👏👏
I always forget to put edge banding on until it's assembled and far more difficult.
Great stuff!! I love the cabinet in that space. I'm working on a design for a couple bathrooms in my house. While the design you chose is perfect for your aesthetic, mine tends a bit more rustic. Your idea of using the material to size the toe kick cutout is awesome! I have the same "wiggle saw" as you. I love that name for it. :)
Bigtime Crige moment when I saw that Slinky drain coupler under the sink. Please swap that piece or garbage out.
Thank you for doing an elongated toilet. - Your friendly neighborhood tall person
Use a framing square as a guide with your jigsaw.
Regarding clamps: 7 years ago I made shutters for my office window and clamped them in place to see how they'd look. Still there. I miss those clamps sometimes.
Cool
Might buy some spares of the shower curtain...
Really enjoyed this video! Thank you for your hard work! Could you please possibly make a video using a material called Corian? I’ve heard you can make a lot from it!
I used it in this video. Cuts like wood. czcams.com/video/ZcXW3A9kuLI/video.htmlsi=JEC_quAOsaib9JT-
Should buy like 3 or 4 of the shower curtain. lol
Really enjoying this series. Thank you. Hinge tutorial would be awesome as I do them often enough to need to be quick but rarely enough that I don't remember how from job to job. Did I hear that you also write the music?
Thank you. Yes, I made all the music in this video.
@MakeSomething sounds good. Worth plugging the podcast again. I really enjoy listening to you all talking. Great company in the shop.
Looks awesome my friend! Try oramask next time, instead of blue tape. Otherwise, turned out terrific.
noted, thanks!!
You might want to buy a handful of those shower curtains before they're discontinued.
I’d Poop There. Probably end up with Bowl Scroll Leg from rewatching your vids.
What is the jet air filter or something at 5:07 ? Haven't seen that before
Cabinet looks great! But please replace the tailpiece on the sink with regular tubular and not that accordion! Especially for a rental it will not be fun having that frequently clog and hold nasty water.
Hope you ordered at least 2 shower curtains! 😄
Now you have to make something that is permanently held together with clamps 🤣🤣
hahaha 😂
@@MakeSomething I wonder if you could come up with a design where the clamps are actually part of the structure and design and are permanently attached to the structure, not just clamped in place. Like using the clamps as table legs for an end table or as stringers underneath a table top. I feel like there is definitely some potential in the idea, and depending on the design it could look really cool.
When will you start uploading the all WEN shop stuff
Got pushed to January. Hold tight!
@@MakeSomething awesome 👍🏽 thanks
Where do you get your plywood from? I know you always mention Kentcraft for your hardwoods. But where do you source your plywood from?
Next door to Kencraft is a place called Toledo Plywood
What movie was playing on the TV?
Hot damn! That $$$ on the cherry sheet wasn’t bad haha just paid a lot lot lot more over here in California haha
3 years ago it was $80
@@MakeSomething I was just quoted in California for a A1 sheet at, sit down for this, $240. Haha my client said she was happy to go with B side/shop ply cherry they had which was still 136!
@@Kmkats I should have mentioned that this was B grade shop cherry. It's very rare I get A grade.
I would've been tempted to figure some way to hide the joints on the toe kick. Veneer it?
they are hidden!
@@MakeSomething I'm talking about where side panels overlap the toe kick. The strip above the doors overlaps the side panels, which I think looks a little better.
How do you not have a Glu-Bot? It makes putting glue on vertically a pice of cake. 😅
Hope you bought like 10 shower curtains 🤭🤭👍👍
Ya
Why doesn't anybody make a track saw with a foot long extended rear handle for us short guys to be able to cross cut a 4x8 sheet in one movement?
Right?!?!
Love your work but- lacquer in a high moisture area? Thats gonna peel off in year.
Thanks, can you tell me where you're getting this information from? From what I understand most factory made vanities use lacquer.
Pocket some holes, pound some knobs.
Pocket some holes, pound some knobs.

1:18 looks like you hate your fingers 😮
don't let camera angles confuse you. 😉
Yeah, looked really close on the video. Nice project btw.
You
Spent 33$ on two hinge sets. Daaaaaaaang!!!! I’m sorry man. Love the videos.
Blum soft close hinges are the best in the business.
Hey, next time it would be nice if you nock before entering. Obviously we were already in here taking care of things.
If we are sharing this bathroom, we need some basic ground rules.
Reminds me of Fast Times at Ridgemont High... "Doesn't anybody knock anymore?"
damn, the CNC was a mood killer :(
Consider me RickRolled...
But it’s ok if they are.
Doors doesn't look even. Looks like a 32 of an inch off.
Adjustable (expensive) Blum hinges to the rescue!
