Excellent video. I just fixed mine following these steps. The only issue I am now left with is that the WLAN cable that goes through the hinges was also broken so the wifi isnt working well. Any ideas on how to fix that? Any videos showing the fix?

Do you have maybe issue with loud fans? I have loud fans all the time for some reason even when laptop is idle.
I have cleaned it, changed thermal paste and I still get fans spinning loud. When I checked temperature of cpu I was it constantly going up and down 10C. Have you encountered similar issues?

Hi, thanks for your comment first. I love to read comments and love sharing knowledge and learn each other. However, I did not have any fan issues. Would you please let me know your laptop comes with which processor? And how old is this? If it's older than 2 years I would suggest you try to change both of the fans which would not cost you that much if you are in the UK.

I have this model. I recall having the noisy fan issue as well. The solution to the problem for me is to go into the advanced power options and modify Processor power management > Minimum power state, I set it to 1-2% for the battery and plugged in settings. Also my System cooling in the same interface is set to 'active' on battery, and 'passive' for plugged in. The fans themselves will be loud when they get engaged, but they at least don't run ALL THE TIME anymore. Furthermore when taking this laptop apart like in the video, I cleaned the fans a little in ways I can't do from the outside.

Hi, thanks for asking. I bought it from eBay UK site, so I am not sure if the product is continued any more.
I followed the steps and when the laptop booted back up, the mouse cursor didn't show up on the screen. Any ideas on what would be causing that?@@thepcphone

after 1 year the hinges will again break the plastic... a total fool designed the housing, this hinges are very strong, this delicate plastic cover will never hold

To be honest, in this case, you need to replace the entire Wi-Fi antenna cable. Or for shortcut you may use external USB mini Wi-Fi port. Thanks
