The thing is with Sans's story the story might actually have some truth.
Genocide you CAN actually spare him, but doing it normally would end in him dunking you like in og undertale, if you continue the fight purposelly missing every attack (so FIGHT but wait until you miss the attack) the fight will continue and you'll be able to act 'back down' and spare him..very weird way to spare Sans it's quite secretive.
Anyways to my point, he drops his 'multi-watchers' comic and you'll be able to read it, but inside is just a physics book and it's a fake. Sans really likes messing with us huh? Guess we deserve it.

Thing is, he also makes up another story if you lose to him again after he reveals that the whole universe jumping story was fake.
The new story he makes up is DEFINITELY more ridiculous, with it just being Sans coming from an entire race of Sans that ends up being studied by a bunch of people in suits, but funnily enough it also kinda makes fun of comments like this. Where the whole message of the story is “People take the things that I say and do so seriously, without realizing that they’re kinda missing the actual point.” Which is obviously referring to people over analyzing the lore of his character.
Now I’m not saying nothing in his original story can be true because of this, but there’s definitely an indication that it doesn’t actually mean anything, and Sans was just making up crap the whole time.

Honestly the thought that from the main cast the only one who is dead dead is Asgore is kinda scary to think. Papyrus and Sans both survived the Starlight Isles, Mettacrit is a ghost and only now we go into Alphys' territory(Undyne, Ser Snatchalot and Toriel await their turns). And if Starlight Isles gave you a toned down megalovania imagine what the genocide route will be like from this point onwards.

In a surprising bit of reflection/transparency the Devs not only realized their
issues in developing this section, but they told the public about it too.
(Ignoring the obvious, "it's a free fan-game made as a hobby" type stuff.)
So they didn't set the scope for this area early on and became over-ambitious.
They also didn't have a solid plan for the progression of the area and things changed constantly.
That and a few other things they mentioned should be better managed from this point on though.

There's actually an extra route to this game. If you start genocide but then abort it, you get an entirely different neutral route. The way to do this that gives you the most unique content is by sparing Asgore after killing eveyone in ruined home.
You also get a unique act if you intentionally misss every attack in the genocide crossbones fight.

The Harry and Larry fight is seriously so messed up.
They were trying to run away from you, completely scared of you and you still follow them until they are backed into a corner. The whole time you have the opportunity to Back Off numerous times but you still choose to follow them to kill them.
Then they slowly realize that there is no way out other than fighting you.
Then there’s the fight itself.
The whole fight they are spareable so you can end it whenever you want.
They keep healing each other when they get to low HP, desperately trying to keep each other alive (Yes, Larry would have been healed by Harry, so you Merg did have to push him to win the fight), and at one point Harry runs out of healing items for Larry, and he resorts to feeding him pocket lint (“Harry desperately feeds Larry some pocket lint!”) just to stay alive.
They are fighting for their LIVES.
Finally, you push Larry off the mountain when he’s at low HP. Harry tries to reach for him, but it’s too late and he had to watch his best friend falling off and dying in a very gruesome way.
He kneels, shaking in complete despair.
You can no longer spare him, so you need to kill him too to finish the fight. Also you one shot him, because of his despair after losing his best friend.
Yeah. Very messed up.

There is also an evacuation route where in Snowden you just spare everyone and let them escape (there’s a different boss)
my thoughts when seeing the notif at a glance: "hey... this isn't the geno- actually it's called Ruthless by the devs- route!"
immediately after seeing the full title (when I *tapped* on the notif to watch): "OHHHHHH, IT *IS* GENO- I MEAN RUTHLESS ROUTE!"
there’s so much in this game that I never even knew there was there yet, the sleeping cutscene, the hammering one, and so much other small stuff that add so much. Not only that, but the game makes it feel like the underground is in a catastrophic event and literally tries to fight back against you with sans not holding back from fighting you at all and the navy showing their true strength. I can’t wait for the next demo and watching you react to it, thank you for showing this game to so much people.
I remember the other day I got absolutetly Jebaited by youtube reccomendation as it reccomended me "TERRARIA IS BACK! Calamity Mod Expert" with the terraria calamity logo and for a good 5 seconds I got excited and thought Finally merg is uploading that sereis only to see I had been reccomended the series uploaded 5 years ago....

Honestly when it comes to undertale fangames no mercy or neutral routes will always be more fun for me and this game REALLY sent it home, hell theres even a route specifically if you abort genocide which is awesome

Cool take on this route by the TS team! I gotta say though, Larry's death was brutal. The Sans fight was also really cool, and the cutout switcharoo was an awesome fakeout. Guess he's presumed dead now just for him to destroy Chara later...?

You can't kill Boogiemen any other way. One would think they can't heal forever. They can.
I do agree that the pacifist run had a lot of filler and was pretty slow paced, but I do think that’s kinda what it’s made for. The whole idea about the genocide route in the first place is about turning a game into a chore (grinding and stuff) and while this didn’t seem to have very much grinding but skipping all of the fun dialogue and stuff fits into that idea of making a game a chore. So in a way having a longer pacifist with more filler really helps make the genocide route seem different

In case you don't know, there's a new route in this game, called Evacuation Route. The earliest point it can begin is if you do genocide in Ruined Home but hug Asgore instead of dealing finishing blow.

The genocide route in this game is actually kind of creepy you can tell it’s heavily inspired by the snow grave route from Deltarune Especially when you can see all the monsters running away from you in ruin home or the monsters start to get scared of you in the forest and the fight with Harry and Larry. It’s all fantastically executed not to mention it has a good difficulty balance and the bosses don’t get awful hard like undertale yellow if this game actually finishes its development and comes out it’s probably going to be one of the best in the community one of the only in the community because not that many get passed the ruins so let’s hope this game actually comes out. It’s already huge already because with both routes combined, this game is already longer than Undertale and Deltarune

I love how in the Crossbones fight he explicitly references the stuff people theorise about, like Sans jumping between different universes, and being related to Gaster, and all that stuff. Then reveals it's just his superhero persona's origin story.
In my opinion when fan games go all out on that stuff a lot of the time it usually gets kind of... dumb. So it had me a little worried at first, but I like how they dealt with it.

Hey merg, there is one more route, if you kill everyone in ruined home, but spare everyone in the starlight isles, you can get something called the “evacuation route” where you even get a special fight with sans
I don't know anything about this AU, but it would be cool if Sans actually survived. Would be a good plot twist for Papyrus at the end.

What I found amazing about genocide muffet fight is that there's a different way to defeat her which is to do a combination of talk and scare. It is a bit harder since it has more attacks and different attack patterns than just normal genocide. But it is definitely interesting that it is there.

Merg, just saying, after y9u do the ruthless/genocide route, you can do genocide on the ruined home (a.k.a first area) and then after Asgore's final attack, go to Act, and the use the Hug option, it'll put you on a different route called Evacuation Neutral. (Technically you can do this by aborting genocide whenever but it's better to do it from early on but before going to Starlight Isles so yoj witness all changes.
