Fun fact: first sound recorders were invented *before* electricity. But the quality wasn't good enough to actually hear words 😆

Phonographs/gramophones etc work fine without electricity and they are pretty clear, I think it would be possible for an alien race to invent something similar maybe a bit earlier than we did.
I'm also inclined to think that a blind humanoid race would still invent its own version of braille. Why? Even if being blind is not a disability for them, they can probably have other disabilities like being born deaf (or turning deaf later in life) or mute. Such individuals would still need a way to communicate and learn. Unless these senses work differently for them - would they perhaps use telepathy?

The cold/hot shower mod by Kabuto was honestly a lifesaver for me. I have a love hate relationship with snow, it's nice watching the snow come down, I live in the countryside so it remains pretty undisturbed - but my bones hurt and it's a pain to shovel.

Oh wow, I would hate snow if I had to shovel 😫

I grew up somewhere with harsh winters and it could look so magical and cozy. But when we would get blizzards in April I was done lol. I like snow but I don't want to have to go out in it, because snow always comes with snow removal and trudging to work in the freezing cold and its worse when it's dark. If I didn't have to go out like for work I would enjoy it very much! Now where I live, we barely get snow and I do miss it.

Balance is key ✊ I never realized how privileged I am that I don't have to shovel snow because I live in an apartment 🤔

24:17 The one thing that comes to my mind is singing "Ready for it" just in timing that "are You Ready for it?" comes right before death XD

I only like pictures of the kind of snow you're talking about. I don't enjoy temperature below 15 degrees celsius; makes my bones ache. I'm a Canadian. Spent most of my childhood in a small town in northern part of province of Ontario - we had so much snow each winter. As a kid I loved it but not so much as an adult in my mid 50's, lol.
Regarding the reading/writing thing, if Planet Alades is so many kinds of sims/aliens/foreigners populating it, then surely to share each others stories, culture, history etc there'd be more than spoken word and maybe sighted simizens would invent a tactile writing similar to braille in order to share their knowledge with sightless folks. If your sightless race is keen on knowledge I'd expect them to be eager to learn anything new and especially if it helps them know and understand their fellow neighbours better. Definitely couples counseling should be on their learning list because it's also a social and peace keeping matter.

I love snow. It just looks so much brighter outside and snow is a must at least in December! I'm not a driver so I fully appreciate it lol

I live in Los Angeles so there is sadly no snow here. Ever. 😭

i've grown fond of snow especially compared to when i was younger! it makes the scenery much brighter and makes up for the darkness of winter here (especially here in denmark)

I miss snow so much! It makes everything so pretty and quiet. I used to live in the north and we'd get multiple inches, if not feet, every year. Down here in the south, we're lucky if it sticks for a day or two. It's more likely we get ice, which is just annoying at best.

I'm a Canadian, so I grew up in snow and loving the winter and snow. Unfortunately I grew up in a city where the snow was always brown and muddy and gross. Though visiting my grandmother in her small town was always beautiful in winter.

Maybe they wouldn't know how to write, but in my opinion, they should have some way of transferring knowledge other than verbally. Electricity would somehow be needed to, for example, record what they would normally write down? Otherwise how can we be sure that certain things would not be lost. How would they transmit knowledge to each other from the other side of the planet. Without electricity of some kind they would have made their way to another planet.

Doesn't a ceiling fan help keep sims cool? At least it seemed so to me. The game also has a heating battery, which seems to increase the temperature. But maybe I've already forgotten something

I love snow too! we don't get it anymore where I live cos of the ol' global warming 😞
also with the race of Oakums (apologies if I spelled that wrong) I would hope that if they lived in a society like on Planet Alades that has people with sight, that the seeing people would be inclusive enough to offer books with braille even if the Oakums didn't have a need for it & a similar thing for the electricity, cos the people with sight on Planet Alades would still need light when it gets dark
also with the written word being made after university I think it should be before since poorly sighted people (not 100% blind) exist on Planet Alades (I assume) because there is a possibility for people who aren't the Oakums to have glasses? I may be getting too literal with my answer lol
