well i own a 1.5 skoda slavia dsg automatic.. my friend bought i verna turbo.. well he gets around 14-15 on highways and i get around 19-20(2 cylinder deavtivation technology).. and i drove his car.. handling is not match against slavia.. gearbox is good.. my friend owns a polo since 10 years.. he doesn't have any issues.. my mamaji has bought 4 VWs till now.. and now he has 2 in his garage.. performance, paint quality, no rusting issues, driving dynamics.. and now manufactred in india.. so service cost is less.. i have done around 8000 kms and its going good..

Hyundai has almost got everything right with the new Verna.. Beating the Germans on the drag strip is something seriously amazing ❤

Verna has ruled this segment, at least in straight line performance, for a while now.........1.6 CRDi was the king earlier, and now this 1.5 Turbo.....

The verna just keeps growing on me.
At 1st i was like wtf, then saw a few on the road and got familar with its face. Then drove one and loved it. Later it got GNCAP 5 star rated and now its beating the germans on their turf.

@@SanthoshSandy1991 not better than the Germans but they are surprisingly close. Its close enough that I'd say that everything else the Verna offers makes it more compelling over all. I also have a distinction to make, the Germans don't handle as good as they used to do. Compared to the vento or polo these "India 2.0" cars are a lot softer. I would definitely say, if the Verna got an N line, It will go above the Germans
@@SanthoshSandy1991 Definitely not as good as the Germans, but that's a fair trade-off. Considering the fact that the Top-line Verna is a solid 2.5L cheaper OTR compared to the VWAG twins, you could spend the extra money to get wider rubber and stiffer suspension and still spare cash for fuel. It is an absolute winner!
So now HYUNDAI is faster, more reliable, and less expensive, with low maintenance and 5-star safety.

Power to weight ratio and troque to weight ratio matters bro. Verna has more power to weight ratio and troque to weight ratio than slavia.
Same case with Kushaq and seltos. Kushaq has less power and weight and seltos has more power and weight and hence power to weight ratio is more in seltos and troque to weight ratio is more in Kushaq so Kushaq won the drag race.
@@rishavsharma6875 Thats due to dct gearbox tuning difference plus here the weight difference is very small compared to Kushaq seltos. 1.5 vs 1.5, this engine is faster overall
Except the fact that body shell of verna is marked as unstable in Global NCAP report despite 5 stars while slavia has stable bodyshell.

That's what we can say a competition.. Hyundai worked hard made new Verna considering Performance,Safety, Features,Turbo engines etc just to defeat the Slavia/Virtus and Vw/Skoda adding new features like Electric seats, Subwoofer,New Variants in 1.5 tsi etc Where Honda is doing competition with their own by not offering turbo engines,No segment first Features,No crash test ratings of Indian variant etc

@@VarunTomee-kr6nf If you watch Autocars numbers from their comparison review..Slavia and virtus have faster kickdown time from 20-80 and 40-100..which is actually more important performance matrix compared to 0-100 as it more useful in day to day overtakes.

the Hyundai DCT is the best automatic transmission you can get in a car under 50 lakhs
well slavia 1.5 tsi engine has 2 cylinder deactivation technology.. so you can get good mileage around 20-25% more in same driving conditions against verna..
@@shobhitsaini86 that has lot of issues with the transmission. On the long run it sucks and cost for repair and maintenance is also high. Indian VW-group cars are not Built to the german standards and also vw producing cross overs and sedans at affordable price is only because of brands like Hyundai. Hyundai has knocked the ball outa the park with this verna, i took a test drive recently and j couldn't have enough of it ended up taking another, the way it handles is a charm, the steering weighs up very well on Speeding and in traffic what a feather, suspension isn't too soft but not as firm as the VW , nonetheless the performance and handling will not make you worry much about it, an N line will fix it :))

so officially verna is the fastest in C-segment🔥🔥🔥.....now Verna is fastest, have 5 star safety, has a reliable engine, has less maintenance compared to virtus/slavia, it is also spacious, good interior, good fit and finish..... clearly no competition to verna under 20Lakhs....

Hyundai's Turbo manual cars are very aggressive and powerful in its class. When it comes to DCT, the models are very shy. It mainly tuned for linear power delivery. This is one of the most awaited video and it's true that the i20 nline Manual is faster than the Polo TSI manual. Hyundai's manual models kick the Europeans...

I have driven both the 1.5 turbo DCT variant of Verna and Seltos. It feels Hyundai has got a more aggressive state of tune compared to the KIA, which feels bit linear in terms of power delivery. The DCT Seltos feels slower than the DSG unit of VW/Skoda, but Verna DCT feels faster.
Cause verna is a sedan and more aerodynamic.
And I think it is lighter than seltos

@@amogus9440DSG and DCT both are same tech with different names, DCT is also prone to failure as much as DSG. If you talk about maintenance then own a Hyundai for real, you will get to know the service charges, they charge 8-9k for my 10 year old i10 when no parts are getting replaced. About features, its a hyundai thing, hyundai gives you more features while VW gives you driving pleasure.

If we ride in actual highway i think slavia can give more confidence with its better handling. few corners and few barricade crossings can let us understand its true potential of both cars. i bet slavia can do better .

Such a small difference hardly matters in real life unless it is race track... other factors are important too like braking, handling, cornering overall riding dynamics...in that Volkswagen/Skoda still rules ... Honda city also drives good (well not as fast as these ones but very reliable and good performance) 😉
It looks like a small difference cause drag is 400 meter race but in real life when you on highway it matters most cause you can easily overtake slower car Hyundai has given softer suspension to target more customer the n-line will definitely come
@@VarunTomee-kr6nf I still don't think that's the case I have seen on highways sub 4 meter SUVs with 1.0 turbo comfortably overtaking ..regarding N line might be slightly better because with Venue and i20 N line isn't that good but better than non N line
What matters in real life is wide reach, after sales service, easy availability of parts, reliability Hyundai is better in all these scenarios which matter in real life that's why they sell 10 times more vehicles than Skoda in India.

Skoda VW should do an interior update and tune their engines for more power. 1.5 Tsi is easily capable of producing 160-170 bhp.
The same engine does produce 158HP in the US spec Jetta. Its not like the engine is incapable. Its just that VWs have given a Lower state of tune for the indian market probably for fuel efficiency I guess. Ours does get wagonr like fuel economy even in the city. Thats Incredible for a heavy sedan.

@@alburaq3290 1.5l. In my driving, if u don’t put your foot down, it can give even 18+ in highways, 10 is easily achieved even in worst traffics. Generally in city we average 14 in not so dense traffic.

@@d_techterminal Two reasons bro, kushaq weighs less and dct in seltos isn't as quick or great to launch either. Still as mentioned in the end of that race the difference is tenth of a second between the two cars. In manual versions probably seltos may win!

45 kgs lighter, 10 bhp and 3 nm torque more than slavia, not surprising. Slavia with the same specs as verna would have done faster than 15 sec.
