- Restoration - Very Rusty Toy Tonka Kenworth Car Carrier. The Tonka Kenworth model was made around 1983s. Unfortunately, it was not treated well. It stood outside for a long time.
I bought the Tonka Kenworth Car Carrier toy on Ebay for € 5. The Tonka toy was the perfect restoration project.

UPDATED!!!! I know everyone makes mistakes.. (And NO ONE is perfect.) The upside down exhaust stacks was sort of a rookie move. No worries though. I used to have this model WAY WAY back when I was a kid. It ALSO used to have a rear gate/ramp for loading of cars. It sadly must have been lost to time. I'm impartial to the new color scheme you gave it. I guess it kinda gives it an updated look. = o)

Awesome job restoring that Tonks Kenworth W900 truck. But, at 10:12 the exhaust stacks are installed upside down. Use your before and after comparisons at 13:09 and 13:11 as reference. Plus, I work for Kenworth Sales of Utah. 😁

Tonka was one of my child hood toys
This Tonka was made in Mexico. I remember there were differents levels of "quality". One of my cousins had one of these, which I remember because of those "boring" wheels and a smaller size. I had a Corvette carrier truck which had very nice white wheels on the tires, and I recall my cousin stating that "your Tonka seems way better than mine".
Another Tonka rescued! Yep, rethink the stacks ;-) as stated earlier they are upside down, easy fix. Got a fire truck to restore and these vids help a lot!
I got a old firetruck to restore too.
The smoke stacks are upsidedown.... but other than that I love it, it looks great. Keep up the good work! :)

Don't you know in the winter you run the exhaust into the cab to keep warm? I thought everbody knew that. My buddy Ronny used to tell me that all the time, and if he was still alive he'd say it was so.

No concuerdo contigo la pintura del camion quedo mal y encima mala eleccion de colores negro? , el parabrisas quedo amarillo, lo unico que quedo bien restaurado son las llantas, pero lei comentarios que las llantas son nueva, en el video nose ve nada de como las restauraste, en fin si te gusto es cada punto de vista

Looks great! I had one of those when I was a kid. It came with a couple of late 70s camaros. The trailer had a ramp too but not one that swung down, one end had tabs that rested into slots on the trailer.

You almost had it!! Everyone else pointed it out already the exhaust is upside down also the plastic window would look alot better if you sprayed it with some clear and maybe some decals

Esta tecnica de poner nueva las ruedas es facil lo lijas y luego pules, tambien e visto que usan encendedor, es video no me gusto el parabrisas del camión quedo amarillo
