I don't no who's more excited You or Me?. Well, that was a nerve racking few months, but it's been an incredible journey thank you for letting me tag along. Cheers Bloke 🍻👍.
A double drop(or, double ribbed), Carnage and Scotty’s Garage. Yeah, I’m not getting any work done this morning. The downside of working from home 😂
Nothing like that first start elation when you've built it yourself well done mate
Double ribbed 😂😂
Congratulations Scotty, big moment right there. Looking forward to more episodes with this beast.
like a kid on Christmas morning my 1st thought when i woke up was " It's today! it's today!"
Good on ya Scotty what an achievement definitely spoilt us with all this content mate! Lovin it!!!
Congrats Scotty, another big win for you!
Good on ya Scotty!
I literally had a big smile on my face and felt the anticipation as the engine cranks over and finally fired.
I know first hand how exciting the moments of first start up are. So I can totally relate.
It’s a significant milestone in a build and really gives the boost of often needed motivation to trooper on with the rest!
Fricken Epic! Sounds awesome!
Well done mate All that work has paid off.
music to my ears scotty. congrats
Good work Scotty, ya bloody legend!
All the hard work paid off 🤟🏼
You are a bloody champion love ya work mate
Nice work Scotty.
Good stuff Scotty. Can't wait to see it hit the road.
You owe us a good amount Hassan Chops Scotty!
Great Video Scotty, well worth the wait!
Mate, I was clenching everything while you were trying that start omg haha. Super glad for you Scotty! Great work as always mate!
Interesting way of priming the oil. I have a little 12v pump that screws into the turbo feed or oil filter sandwich plate and watch throw the oil filler to make sure it got up to the head. Etc. Because the sensor is obviously lower than the head.
Congratulations on a successful first startup Scotty! I like the oil prime hack! Good shit mate! 😎🍻
great work scotty cant wait to see this at the track gona be a weapon
Totally cool Scotty,, getting there mate 👊😎
You rippa, I have pre oiled engines this way for over 30 years. The secret is out. Well done
Great work Scotty, getting closer each time mate 👍 👌
Let’s go Scotty !!! 😜👍🇦🇺
Nice one Scotty
I was nervous for you mate 😂 Stoked for you that its running 👍
Great job Scotty, hell of a project 👍
Well done in
getting the Beast running 😊💪
Monday morning and Scotty's here. I'm glad I'm retired and can watch it all in one hit. Drag Challenge ute is running, yippee. ❤
Yeeooowww...!!!! Bring on Drag Challenge 2024 !!!!
So happy for you Scotty, well done….
Damn it sounds tough💪
IT’S ALIVE!!!!!!!
I swear you just saw the 9 second time at the 1/4 mile in your future!!
Congratulations
Sounds like a beast can't wait to see it rip down the track!
Congrats Scotty
Been hanging to knock off work to watch this and was not disappointed 🤙
Well Scotty, "Double Ribbed for your Pleasure". The size of that clamp... hahaha, you must be more lucky than me!!! Cheers mate
Had a feeling the battery was going to be flat. (again) hahahahaha. Well done mate. can't wait to see it on the dyno.
Oooooh it sounds HEAVY. This is ace.
It's alive! Awesome achievement, Scotty. Next should be Turbo Taxi
Congratulations mate. Feels fkn great when you get to this point doesn't it 🎉
Yes it does!
Yeeeeeagh!!! LFG! This thing is gonna be sick!
13:01 ' Thats what she said' 😆🍺
Good to see a proper first start, long crank, cold n grumpy engine being woken for the first time :-)
Seen way too many "First Starts" where they tickle the key and it fires n purrs lol
Haha, yep they never start perfect first time.
Yeeeeew it is aliiive
You can pump scavenge back where ever you please aslong as its above the oil level! Have previously modified an oil cap to pump the scavenge into in a pinch and it stayed like that for years!
It lives!
Can't wait to see what the ute will do, I think it will be a monster
You must fill the transmission beforehand. The pump will run with the converter methinks🤔
There's some fluid in it but I didn't run it long enough to hurt it
Scotty mate have you checked the brake switch behind the pedal to make sure its working etc. Its ok if the brake light work ,but once the car is running there's a chance it might not work, especially when you have the park lights or headlights on at the same time. just saying. Keep up the great work mate. 👌👍🦘✌
And the baby breaths 🤙🇦🇺🤙
Do you guys ever get sick of all the bot comments? 😂 great video BTW, this thing is gonna rip at the strip.
Haha, they're getting better. It's quite entertaining
This is going to sound mental when she's all tuned up!!
It makes noises🎉👍
It starts, that's a start 🤣🤣🤣
Well done Scotty as the saying goes good things come to those who wait 😊 can't wait for first rips . Do you think that pressurised oil fill work on holden v8s ? You would no how notoriously bad they are at building oil pressure on initial run in .I've had trouble before even using the fill the oil pump with Vaseline trick . I dont have a haltech to see if it builds pressure but i am running a extension so i can run the standard oil pressure switch to the idiot light on the dash and a sass oil pressure gauge for accurate oil pressure on my budget 355 build .
Let’s goooooo!!!!!
F*ck Yes!!!!!!!! Nice one Scotty👍🍻
Yeah
I'm gonna say it again.. how damn good are those Haltech units?! It just makes it so "plug and play"...
YOU BEAUTY 😄👌
YEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
"Theres certainly plenty of length there", , , , thats what she said 😅😅
Sounded great! Hope you filled the power steering if it has it?
It didn't run very long
Great work and not a shifter in sight...lol. It's a great inspiration to see this car come together, bit for those who want to build a similar drag and drive car is there any chance you can add up the costs?
I think the costs are too scary 😀
My guestimation is just south of $100k if that's where your at, it's not that bad for a low 7 high 6 sec car.
@@hammeredhemi1223 in terms of retail costs, it'll be under $100k but hard to work out exactly
@@hammeredhemi1223 No one is building a low 7, high 6 second car for $100k
All these performance parts place must be making a fortune of LS and Barra parts!?! $$$
Scotty, you don't have flat battery problems when you use Super Capacitors (With Battery).
👍👍👍
is the ute getting a dashmat?
Haha
It wouldn't be right without a dash mat assaulting Scotty every pass
😊😊😊😊
do you thing your surge tank is big enough? there only 2lt but with 3 pumps taking up space drops that down which at 1000hp thats fine but when your making 1500-1700hp maybe an issue as tank pump won't keep up keeping it supplied, when you go over 1000hp which I would expect have other unknown issues as not many cars can go that hp i would think your Ute should do easily if you got the injectors and pump 2000hp isn't out of the question and the move to methanol will be the juice of choice, busting to see it on the dyno
mine is pretty much same as yours except I'm running a huge single turbo but when I did the headers I made 2 right hand side 1 for single and another for going twin turbo, I'm running a 10lt surge so I have the option to run methanol for the strip and back to e85 for drag and drive, I've got bigger injectors and a Aeromotive single pump and Areomotive reg its all good for 2500hp not that I'm going to go that high till the cars sorted
I guess we'll find out if the surge pot is big enough
Carnage on a Monday 😩
Well, we could have made you wait the whole week
😃🤘
"The LS being a modern engine". Pushrod valve actuation circa late 1800s ;-)
Haha, it's all relative
Its modern, the pushrod configuration is a feature chosen purposely. Makes the engine really compact.
I don't think you want the scavenge pump sucking directly from the turbos. The turbos should drain into a "sump" that is ventilated to the air and the pump scavenge from the sump. Have a friend that destroyed many seals in his turbos without that. Its also how OEMs did it when it was needed.
Comin along well Scotty , learning by wire😁
The ute is missing the dash matt
"Wrong pedal to start with"
Just dont do that on the strip Scotty 😂
So stoked to hear her fire up 😃
Maybe if you were so daring the next build could use turbos and a supercharger together. I think it would be sweet.
Stay tuned for that
are you having the rest of the week off ??or are you going to live in the carnage workshop until its finished ?
Friday's video is already uploaded and scheduled
Still isn’t Scotty garage😢
LOL, but have you watched today's episode of SG?
Ribbed for driving pleasure and 100% guaranteed to grip your pipe like no other can....
