Burglar Alarm System for a Secure Home Alarm

Watch how a burglar alarm system detected a kitchen fire.
It was 1 a.m. on November 23, when a fire broke out in the kitchen of the Burns family. During this time the Burns family was asleep and unaware of the fire. The glass panel shattered and activated the glass-break sensor feature from the burglar alarm system. Which alerted ADT dispatcher Allison at the Rochester Call center, who called the Burns family to alert them of the burglar alarm. Mrs. Burns informed Allison that there was a kitchen fire and to send over first responders. The ADT dispatcher notified the FT. Worth Fire Department of the situation.
Mr. Burns was able to put out most of the smoke with the fire extinguisher. The Fire Department inspected the stove and walls to make sure everything was safe.
The damages were minimal and the Burns’ family are very appreciative that the burglar alarm sound awakened them. Apparently the Burns' family could not hear the non-monitored smoke detectors downstairs. The Burns’ family believe that without their ADT home alarm they might have slept through the fire.
