- G'day guys, today we are reacting to Three Dog Night with Joy To The World. I didn't know this song was theirs. I didn't know this song was even called this. It was great to see them sing this.

I love this song. They are so underrated. I got to watch this again.
Don't know if anybody mentioned it on the other video, but Mama Told Me Not To Come was written by Randy Newman who wrote the music for the Toy Story movies. You've Got A Friend In Me is a Randy Newman song.
Three Dog Night had a ton of hits, all written by different song writers, which is why they sound so different.
Lots of hits from this group! I love seeing another generation fall in love with “my” music.
Eli's Coming, Pieces of April, and Out in the Country. Classic TDN. You won't be sorry, mate.
Yes they have 3 excellent singers.
All three sang lead I loved them when I was a kid one of my favorites 6th grade memories.
Never Been To Spain is a must do. Classic song.
Three Dog Night did a LOT of great songs! Check out “Black and White”, “One” and “Celebrate “. I think you will like all of these!
I loved Three Dog Night when I was young. Saw them in concert several times. I had all their albums!
I was 11......We knew (and still do) know every word!!!!!!!!!! Our parents had to have been real sick of us singing it......after all, it was about a bullfrog and fishes! You're not confused. The original "Joy to the World" is a classical Christmas Song.
Right, two different songs called Joy to the world. Just like there is a Def Leppard song called Rock of Ages, there is also a hymn called Rock of Ages too.
@@matthewdrake4385 True that! I know both!
Good lord, Pat! You just made me feel old as hell LOL. Remember when this one came out very well. I remember when all their music back then came out, my sister purchased their first 2 or 3 albums & played them a lot. Thanks sweetie! 💜💜
Three Dog Night has more hit songs than most realize. Try " Shambala " it's a groovy , uplifting song .. get a live version ... Thanks , enjoy your reactions .. especially the Bob Seger ..
Shambhala is my favorite and so underrated
Never Been to Spain or Black and white
My best friend from childhood and I still sing this when we get together and we are 60 yrs old. Good stuff.
This is going to be stuck in my head again lol, and I just got it out after it being stuck for a week lol
Great music from my generation!! They had many great hits as noted by other subs here! I won’t repeat them since they’ve all been mentioned. Loved your reaction!
People had imagination And knew how to have a good time and they expressed it in their music. They worked at their craft and perfection was what they were looking for and three dog night is a legendary band!
I was young when this was popular. I can remember going to my older cousins house and hearing them play it on a record! And yes, many times now when people mention it they'll call it "Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog". (We mentioned it at work not long ago!) I had actually forgotten it is really "Joy to the World"!
Two of my favorites are One and never been to Spain
They had 21 top 40 hits in 7 years. Nearly every one is happy.
Hoyt Axton wrote and recorded this originally along with Never Been To Spain which is a great song also to make a vid with....The most popular vid of Never Been Spain is the best one ..
I remember being in third or fourth grade in the early seventies and our music/chorus teacher teaching us to sing this song and Cat Stevens' "Another Saturday Night". Pretty bold thing for her to do in that day and age where I grew up. I'm pretty sure my parents got tired of hearing those songs (waaaaay off key). On the other hand, we had Three Dog Night's double live album "Around the World with Three Dog Night", so maybe it wasn't so bad. I still have it and put it on every once in a while. Anyway, I would suggest their version of "Liar", preferably live, as a song that shows that Three Dog Night could rock it out too.
I just saw them in concert last September. Still amazing at their craft! Most of their hits were before I was born or while I was rather young.
What I first noticed several years back was that I had not realized so many songs I loved were by the same group. Once I put it together, I was hooked. You may be familiar with other songs, such as Out In The Country, Shambala, Black And White, or Celebrate.
But then there are other great tunes like An Old Fashioned Love Song, Pieces of April, or Sure As I'm Sitting Here.
But I'd LOVE 💘 to see a reaction to The Show Must Go On.
They had a bunch of hits from the late 60's to the mid-70's and 11 top ten hits during that time in the U.S. They also had 3 songs hit #1. Each of the lead singers sang a #1 hit. This song hit #1 sung by Chuck Negron and his moustache. "Mama Told Me Not To Come" was a #1 sung by the late Cory Wells (on the left). And Danny Hutton on the right (with the long dark hair) sang the #1 hit "Black and White."
Instant good mood. Get in the car on a nice day, roll the windows down, and go somewheres singing it at the top of your lungs.
Ironically, when Chuck brought the song to the band, they thought it was too "goody goody" and not rock and roll enough!
Welcome! I’m glad You’re smitten, bro. This is my song to everybody if I’d written it. Three Dog Night. Yess I did once quoted that line. “Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog” and Yess I too forgot the title! That’s the first line in the song though and I just needed it’s pick me up that day. Currently we have a bullfrog invasion and they do tell the public to contact local conservation authorities if we hear bullfrogs in our neighbourhoods. I feel sorry for the little fellas because it’s not their fault they were introduced to North America in the first place. They do eat our smaller frogs though and they’ve effectively eradicated them and n some areas and that can cause environmental disasters of not corrected. Not sure about the deeper meaning behind the bullfrog being a friend of his. I guess because he won’t kill him maybe? I dunno 🤷♀️
First concert I ever went to.
What a real feel good song
THE #1 song of the 70s decade! Can't get more spiritual!!
The original lyric was written "Jeremiah was a prophet", however Hoyt Axton's publishing company told him to change it because it might offend some people. It pissed him off so he just turned prophet into 'bullfrog'.
Never realized what great vocals this band had, I know they were so much fun.
The writer was Hoyt Axton. He wrote and song a whole lot of great songs. Check him out.
The guy also wrote Never Been To Spain which Elvis also did.
Hoyt Axton wrote it...he was the father in Gemlins too
Check out I Must Let The Show Go On. They had alot of hits in the late 60's and early 70's.🎼🎸
The guy that wrote Never Been To Spain and this his mother wrote Heartbreak Hotel. Only Mother Son combo to write different songs sang by ELVIS.
Three Dog Night, own Record according to Corey Wells. Hold the Record for 21 straight charting hits. Joy to the World was number one for 6 weeks. West Salem USA
Yeah, lots of hits. The most hits of any other band in the seventies. Do 'One' and 'Eli's Coming' and 'Easy to be Hard'
The guy who wrote this played the father in Gremlins
I believe that Hoyt Axton wrote the song.
Christmas music anyone? Check out Jennifer Nettles singing OH Holy Night and or Silent Night it's beautiful.
Hoyt Axton is the song writer, you might know him as a actor in movies Like Gremlins.you could do three dog knights I've never been to Spain Hoyt wrote that one too.
"Liar" is a great song of theirs.
Do more 3 dog night lol they are so awesome lol I've seen clips of them back in the day on u tube at the playboy mansion singing at a party ! Its so funny to watch that clip ! Wild clothes and wild dancing !! I think there are 2 clips on u tube at the mansion ! Enjoy 😂😂
You must bow down to such a mustache, lol.
Joy to the world is also a church hymn ..

They had 18 connective top 20 his
Up the volume just a bit please , love youre stuff .
Shambala , Never Been to Spain , Just an Old Fashion Love Song , start with these.
Please check out their song....Eli's Coming. Keep doing these videos....thanks.
There it's another Joy To The World...it is religious & is sung at Christmas
I'd never heard this original before - but I do know Home Free's version. They never officially recorded it, but here's a live version, if you want something to make you smile - czcams.com/video/vA7NpufchYA/video.html It was the encore on their Christmas tour.
And yes, there is also a Christmas/gospel song with the same title, just to confuse everybody. 🤣 Pentatonix did a version of it - czcams.com/video/-Xo64Q2ucQ8/video.html
There is a song titled "Joy To The World" that IS a very religious church song. This awesome song has the same title but slightly different words 😀 I would love it if Isaac Watts had written "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" instead of "Joy to world the LORD is come; Let Earth receive her King."
In short, every song I know called "Joy To The World" is an awesome song. They batting 1,000 on the title. Also in keeping with the religious theme, Chuck Negron's mustache could slay 1,000 Philistines. It is known. Great reaction.
You should check out other Hoyt Axton songs and have some fun: Speed Trap, Boney Fingers, Della and the Dealer.
The original Joy to the World is a Christmas song, obviously different from Hoyt Axton's song.
its the porn stache!
Theres a very Low voice in the background, id like to know who's do,n that
Check out Liar
There is a Texas/Red Dirt Artist I think you'll like called "Reckless Kelly"....(named after the Australian Reckless Kelly) I recommend "A Guy like Me"
