Bach , in the Baroque era, made use of complicated harmony and counterpoint techniques, and this young boy achieved to sing his part so perfect!

@@chriswood3146 because that's how it's sung... else the R gets lost and you lose the meaning of the text. It's not a pb for German but it IS a problem when you sing in French, because we don't roll our Rs so it's a tough balance between understanding the text and sounding natural.

It would be great to hear your interpretation of Das Himmlische Leben of Mahler's Fourth Symphony. Helmut Wittek (with Leonard Bernstein) left us a masterpiece, but I think you have the qualities to do even better ...

Well now between us don't you find that the Debussy Opera is at least one hour too long ? 😃

Thank you! This was on Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt (Counterpoint), a quiz show on Swedish tv about classical music and arts. They were trying to guess the composer and the name of the aria.

It was a quiz about classical music, literature and arts. They were not judges, but contestants. Both teams guessed Bach, and one team guessed the right cantata. Well done to them!
Yes, to guess the composer is relatively easy, but the name of the aria a bit more tricky. And if one knew the cantata it came from it should earn extra bonus points!

The aria "Mein gläubiges Herz" is a particular favorite of mine. I think that Johann Sebastian Bach has invested here lots of his compositorial skills.

The voice is still wonderful to hear and is excellent in Bach, but using a piano takes away from piece terribly. It becomes so clunky!

Zwar bemerkenswert, dass so ein junger Bub das überhaupt singen kann. Aber jede letzte Silbe ist abgezwickt, insgesamt ist das Tempo viel zu schnell, sodass die Frasierungen nicht klar interpretiert werden können. Die Cellistin dürfte wenig Erfahrung mit Barockmusik haben, die kleinen Notenwerke derart stakkato zu spielen ist ein Unding.
Du hast vergessen zu schreiben, dass du keine musikalische Ausbildung hast und dass du nicht zwischen C und A unterscheiden kannst.
