Der Text ist eigentlich ziemlich aus der Zeit gefallen, aber die Vertonung durch Hugo Wolff „malt“ das Bild wunderschön . Mein Lieblingslied vom Wolff ist „Anakreons Grab“ , die Vertonung eines Gedichtes von Goethe. Sicher kennt der junge Man das auch und interpretiert es ebenso klug.❤

It makes my heart soar when I hear this . I hadn’t heard it fior about fifty years . I learned to sing this at school and thought ..” I know this!” ,so started to sing along . I had tears in my eyes at the sheer beauty of the music and Axel’s purity of voice perfection of cadence and tone and his vocal agility. However the tears of remembrance changed to those of laughter at my poor performance - like a set of bagpipes falling down the stairs!🙈🙈
