This was around the time when Mayor Giuliani (1994-2002) was beginning to safeguard/clean up NYC, which had been crime/grime ridden through the '80s into the '90s. By 2000, the city had vastly improved. Times Square was an immaculate theme park by then compared to what it had been a decade earlier, with pimps, prostitutes, sex shops, drug dealers, gangs, etc. Sadly, the Democrats these days seem hellbent on deteriorating the city again in the name of 'equality.' A race to the bottom. smh
