  • Today we've got a no commentary video on a flight done in MSFS for the Air Hauler 2 program. In this flight I'm going from Sparrevohn airfield which was used to support a long range radar site up in Alaska to Kenai Municipal Airport up in Alaska. Now I'm not hauling any cargo on this particular flight but I'm repositioning the plane to Kenai to pick up some goods which I'll then bring north to our base at Anchorage. I was especially keen on trying this flight out as it was the first done on my new gaming PC which has the RTX 4090 graphics card, Intel 14900KF CPU, 128gb DDR5 6400mhz RAM, on a PCIE 4.0 nvme drive. This was quite the leg up from my older system sporting the 10700KF and 3080!
I left out vocal commentary so you could just sit back and enjoy the sounds of the DC-3 and the amazing sights from the beautiful Alaskan scenery. If you'd like to join us in Air Hauler 2 we have a virtual airline called Down to Freight, just search for us and apply!

Same here and I really like in msfs how they do wind turbulence. It’s something I wish DCS really had. It would make flying feel more alive.

Great landing! Every time I try to land this plane (stock), the plane zig zags all over the place!

Thank you! Yeah it’s tricky! I almost always can never anticipate how much differential braking or rudder is needed lol

Subbed for the cold war documentaries but pleasantly delighted for MSFS cargo runs too

That's awesome man! I need to mix it up for myself so I'm glad to hear it is still enjoyable for others who've come for specific content. I'm getting back into DCS, been doing some offline Hip flights to get re acclimated. I really love the new sounds that they've been adding in over the past few months I was away from it.

oh that is very cool, I have yet to dabble in VR....I might give it a go on this more powerful system. Seems like there are a lot of cool games out there for it. I like playing ARMA3, City Skylines (waiting for 2 to get more performance before I buy it), and naval warfare type games like War on the Sea. I generally cycle in waves through my games and sims. I'm looking forward to the Phantom and Chinook in DCS this year as well as the naval warbirds (the Hellcat is one of my favorite planes ever) that'll draw me back I'm sure. I'm also looking forward to MS2024 because it will have multicrew and tasks to do with friends like aerial firefighting which I was wayyyyy into with FSX lol.@@Sandboxcode

Awesome to see you doing MSFS content again! How are you finding Air Hauler 2? It looked a bit spreadsheety for me at first glance, but maybe I've been unfair?

I do enjoy Air Hauler 2 and I think it’s fair that the UI is a bit leaning heavy on tables. I think I’m able to look past that because I’ve used the program ever since AH 1 in FSX long ago.
That said Air Hauler has amazing moments like when I randomly picked a cargo job to drop stuff off at Sparrevohn. I didn’t think much of it until I started looking at approach charts and read stuff like it has a 5 degree upslope on a mountainside and successful go arounds not likely lol flying into this place the first time was an amazing experience and I really wouldn’t have flown here if it wasn’t for air hauler so I think it’s great in that regard. Honestly I bought it this time around for MSFS because my buddy and I picked up almost all the Alaskan payware during the winter sale and wanted to form a VA together so our flying on and offline went towards a unified effort with a goal. That’s been really fun.

Do it without GPS, dead reckoning only.
