I'll 3rd that, being a person who has been to every state outside of Alaska and Hawaii. Also traveled to 30 different countries so far...
People have a choice, you can allow the hate to control you, or you can choose to ignore it a thrive to be happy... There is far more happy out there than hate. Leave the echo chambers that promote and bombard you with hate. The one thing i figured out a couple years ago is when it come to politics, and lets face it that's where the hate thrives, there is only one day a year to let it into my life, and that's election day for about an hour when im voting. After that there isn't anything i can or want do about it.

To Denz: I was about your age when my family visited New York (I’m from Georgia). The younger of my two older sisters and I went up the stairs to the top of the Statue of Liberty. It was even more bare and open then (1986).
I was TERRIFIED and had to hold back from crying but the spiral staircase, once you’re on it, no way to go back down. So….knowing I HAD to commit and was stuck til the end was awful for me. I totally get it, lil bro.
I’m so proud of you that you did! SO proud!
You and I both got to be in the crown of Lady Liberty, despite our fears!

This was a blast to watch! I lived in NY all my life, and worked in NYC for over 26 years. All these things I'd pass by without batting an eye. But seeing it through your family's eyes reminds me of seeing all of it for the 1st time myself!! Glad you guys had a wonderful time!

Turnaround is the game. The "take the long route" is a myth. What gets a driver the money is fast turnaround get butts into and out of those seats as fast as possible. Drivers money comes from the drop; how many times the meter starts.

I’ve been there but just for an hour. Not downtown though. I’ve always wanted to visit, but my husband is against it saying there is nothing to do there. I tried to tell him all the things to do and he said, “boring”. We just can’t agree on a place for a vacation.

I had to turn my head when they were on top of the empire state building. I have a fear of heights. Including when they film it.

I am the same way, and I am 47 years old,. I can't watch when they are up there or when they film looking up at the tall building I get a very uneasy feeling. but I am happy that they got to experince it for the first time for themselves.
I am afraid of heights, I face my fear by hiking in the mountains or riding a high waterslide I just can't get near the edge, I get this weird sensation in my pelvis, a feeling of being pushed, cannot explain it
How did this fear of heights develop? Was it because of 9/11?
6:30. Cold Brew & Iced Coffee are actually 2 different things. Iced Coffee is when you add ice to hot coffee. "Cold Brew" is actually made by putting coffee grinds in Cold Water and let it brew/steep for 12-24 hours.
And Cold brew is generally concentrated, so unless it's watered down you can actually put all that ice in there and as it melts it dilutes to "regular" strength.
I live in America, and I have yet to visit New York City. Amongst other places. America is very big. I'm glad you all enjoyed your visit. Much love from Ohio!

I am 63 years old and have never been in the Empire State Building or in the Statue of Liberty or on Times Square and I'm only 90 Mi away😂
Then I feel less bad. I'm in Ohio but have only seen the NYC LaGuardia Airport!

Fun fact, cold brew is coffee that is brewed cold, usually overnight. It's milder and less acidic. Iced coffee is just regular brewed coffee that's been put in the fridge.
Milder/less acidic.... but STRONGER
So true...I think the Mom was referring to how Americans love iced cold drinks. So true...cold brew coffee is much better than regular iced coffee...so much acid in the regular iced coffee.
In New Zealand iced coffee is usually coffee with ice cream. It’s the most amazing thing. I’m in New Zealand as I type, visiting family. NZ iced coffee and Whittaker’s chocolate are required within a day of arrival

Christmas in NYC is so much fun! We do a girls trip every other year in
my family where we fly there after work on Wed or Thurs night and come back on Sunday, one weekend in December. We have such a great time! This year, we are bringing our husbands, because they think they have been missing out! Well, yes, they have!

I am an American and you’ve already been to more places in the US than I have, and I’m LOVING it! I love seeing people who love the USA viewing our country for the first time. I smiled the whole time. The crown of Lady Liberty was closed when I visited. They were doing renovations. It made me proud to know that was the sight that greeted my grandmother when she came from France in 1911 when she was a young girl.
I really hope the RV trip works out! I can’t wait to see more of your experiences. It will be nice to show you the hospitality and quaintness of our small towns as well as the excitement of the metro areas.

I work in construction in nyc and have lived here my entire life. I’m regularly at the top of some of the best and tallest buildings in the world. It can and does get lost on me at times how unique of an opportunity I have and how lucky I am to experience this every day. It’s videos like these that help me stop and take time to embrace it. Thank you NZ family. Please come back and check out our beaches, the Yanks and Knicks, Queens food, and Brooklyn nightlife. You can skip Staten Island though 😂😂😂
So fun fact, cold brew and iced coffee are actually two different beverages. Iced coffee is often just standard brewed coffee poured over ice. Cold Brew is typically made by lining a pan with a towel, then coffee grounds, then pouring water into the pan and letting it steep in the fridge overnight. It completely changes the taste of the coffee when it's brewed hot or cold. :)
You know it's cool watching people appreciate stuff so many of us take for granted. I live a few hours away from NYC and don't think anything of it, but watching you guys enjoy it so much really makes me think how we take stuff for granted. Good video!
That's just how the human brain works. It will always adjust to your situation and that becomes the new normal. New York is only crazy to them because they come from a small town in a small country. If they lived in New York for 6 months they would become accustomed to it and "take it for granted" as well. Its nothing to feel bad about. There's literally no way you couldn't take it for granted.
I love Denz getting excited for the squirrels. It will make me appreciate waking up to the squirrels in my yard. Growing up my grandma always fed the squirrels and they would get really fat.

I'm with Denz! When I was 11, my class took a school trip to our state capital building, and we got to go all the way up in the dome. I was terrified of heights and the stairs were open between the treads and had a simple pipe railing. I spent the whole time up against the wall in a panic. My teacher had to hold my hand and basically talk me through each step on the way down. I was sobbing! No shame! The fear was (and is) real!

I'll be 90 years old next year and have never been inside the STATUE of LIBERTY.......I've been on the roof of the TWIN TOWERS ( SOUTH TOWER ) before It's demise and HAWAII , but now I can enjoy you guys doing it........Much affection to you all from NEW ENGLAND.....

I've been waiting for this video, I live in NYC. FAO Schwartz use to be next to where the Apple store is now. That's where it was when BIG was filmed and it was bigger at that location. Glad you had so much fun. As a New Yorker we are so use to all the lights and sounds that we know how to tune it all out. To a tourist I can see how overwhelming it all is.

I remember the first time I went to NYC. It was then I realized what a real city is. It was amazing.
I stayed at a hotel in Times Square back in 2006, mostly a work trip. I had several drinks at an Irish pub/restaurant a few doors down from my hotel, the bartender fed me free shots as long as he was matching them. As I was walking around after I left the pub, full of drink, I inadvertently walked right through a Law and Order: SVU set. Nobody stopped me or said anything, saw Mariska Hargitay down the alley, I just kept walking. One of the funniest moments in my entire life.

Cold brew and Ice Coffee are not the same. Ice Coffee is still hot brewed, then iced down. Cold brew is brewed cold.
I live in Massachusetts so I typically head into Boston for big city fun, but it’s distinctly different in some ways. Every once in awhile, however, we head to New York to catch a show. Dave Matthews Band at Madison Square Garden, Royal Blood at Brooklyn Steel, Ripe with Welshley Arms and Lawrence at…. I don’t remember, but I say that to say this. In following your channel I’m finding myself somewhat envious of how you’re touring the States but I’m also really happy you get to experience how warm and friendly American people can be. We get a bad rap sometimes which I completely get, but it’s nice to see good people come from all over the world expecting certain things and then finding themselves pleasantly surprised.
On that note, I love your channel and I’m really enjoying this journey.

10:00. Here is a cool story! Back in 1981 my mom was a girl scout leader in a town called Kenilworth, New Jersey. She was famous in New Jersey for creating "unique trips" for Girl Scouts, She called WPIX 11 (a TV channel in New York City) and asked if there was anyway that a Girl Scout Troop could bring sleeping bags to the Empire State Building and sleep on the top floor. My mom told them that they would have the girls take pictures of New York City as the sun rose at 6AM and that WPIX could air the New York skyline from the top floor on the Empire State Building from multiple cameras. I am the son of the girl scout leader so I went on the "girl" scout trips. Guess what I did in 1981!! I slept in a sleeping bag on one of the walkways of the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building--hahaha! Somewhere in the ether there is a news segment from WPIX NY Channel 11 of all of the girls (and me) getting on the elevator at midnight (the Observation Deck had to be closed and cleaned by the janitors) to sleep on the top floor. I woke up around 6AM seeing the sun beaming off the Chrysler Building. Just an incredible forever memory.....11:15. I was in New York City when I was 14 years old. I would LOVE to go back. It will be 50 years ago this summer. I have looked at google maps and seen SO MANY things that I would love to see in this town. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

There's a lot of hostels like Yosemite bug rustic mountain resort, one in san luis obispo, etc that are reasonably priced and have rv parking. Also some provide access to tours and public transportation like yarts (Yosemite area regional transportation system) so you can get a break from traffic and driving and Yosemite has an excellent shuttle service, so don't get too locked in to rv and not explore all your options.

The passage way up to the Statue of Liberty's torch was closed off, due to high winds And the fear that the arm would collapse. I'm so happy for you! You are a family that's making your own dreams come true❤ Love from California
Public access to the torch has been closed since 1916!

I remember taking my Miami girlfriend to NY for the first time..she was intimidated...but soon she said WOW amazing. Thank you please come back...Ft Lauderdale is nice too..see you here

@ct6852 I will always consider myself as a New Yorker however now South Florida is my home. Like any place it's got its good and not so good. The land scape is totally different of course. No palm trees in NY...People are people.

DC is one of my favorite places to visit....i love all the museums and monuments. But there is something special about Capitol Hill and the White House.

@@deanrotering879 IKR.....i think that and the American history are my favorites, followed by Natural history and Arlington House. But the Capitol gives me chills everytime im there....especially Statuary Hall and the whisper spot, and the rotonda
