    Nice video, but I meant to say that IB can play both frontier, elite and Boss killer when you use two-handed hammer plus trollhammer torpedo. I must admit that IB doesn't have high dps like shade, but you can play very flexible and switch your duty in the team at any time.
    You can stop the horde and stagger the elites with two-handed hammer, make space for your teammates to kill, and use your trollhammer torpedo when the elites are close together. You can make great damage and stagger the boss at the same time with trollhammer torpedo, which stagger the boss can also create time for your teammates to deliver damage, and many times you can push the boss down the cliff by using trollhammer torpedo plus F. When your teammates are in danger, you can use F to attract enemies' attention.
    The most important thing is that...it is easier to win by using IB when you play with strangers, you have no idea whether your teammates are well skilled or not, it is best to take control of all of the dangers by yourself.
    p.s: I'm a 16xx + hours player, and this is my own opinion. I am not a native speaker, so my English may be a bit hard to read, sor.

      IB is the most self sufficient class in the game. He doesn't need a team. Bring the masterwork pistol, a war- or cog hammer, gromril curse, rolling mountain and drengbarazi oath. The pistol melts monsters, , the hammer chews through hordes an elites alike and specials are not a danger either. Gromril curse takes care of disablers.

    Both “tanks”(Ironbreaker/foot knight) have a lot of utility in them that is not always displayed on the scoreboard but is always felt.
    Foot knight gives some team buffs for survivability, has the best stagger and is an absolute beast at keeping monsters or huge chunks of enemies at bay whilst others do damage. He is also on par with the handmaiden in helping downed players up and into the fray again, and he makes life for the player easier as the enemies surrounding him are already flat on their asses. He can also do a lot of special sniping if the situation forces him to do so. And he is the best at giving beastmen banners a middle finger)
    Ironbreaker with the trollhammer torpedo is extremely versatile and survivable in any situation. He may not be the best at killing monsters, but he can do so fairly safely for himself, delete patrols whole and should the situation call just flat out abuse monks.
    Yes, damage dealers are of course “best” as it is necessary to kill rats rather then outlive them, however on cata it only takes a few hits to go down, and a team with less than 4 players will struggle heavily to complete a map. Tanks give a lot of breathing room and may cause situations like these to not happen in the first place. Also, it is not like they cant do a lot of damage should the situation call for it, they still have a pointy stick and a gun)
    A perfect comp also differs heavily, whether it is regular play, Fortunes of War or Chaos Wastes map. On FoW you are almost forced to take a ranger veteran to have a more or less comfortable playthrough, as a steady supply of potions, bombs and temp hp makes it soooooo much easier to live through the absurd amount of rats and cultists the game throws at you.

    I adore videos such as these. It's true, by definition even the Witch Hunter Captain is a support class:
    Buff your teammates by tagging specials so that they deal 20% more damage thanks to Witch Hunt as well as the class skill Animosity giving 25% more crit chance for 6 seconds depending on the talent taken.
    Yet the WHC is also a massive damage dealer because of his passive ability to "Slay man-sized enemies with critical headshots. Even in cataclysm it's an awe inspiring sight to see bestigors, stormvermin and such instantly drop with a well placed headshot.

    i kinda have to disagree on tanks being non beneficial or even harmful for experienced players. i like to see them as an resource preserver. them being able to take more hits, absorb more dmg leads to them downing less often (on average ofc) and therefore saving healing items and leaving some more room for mistake for your teammates. in a perfect world your mates wont take dmg but this isnt realistic as we know, especially in a game like vermintide which can be quite unpredictable at times. lets take an patrol for example (stormvermin). if u need to take them out because dodging is not an option u need 2-3 bombs, maybe even a potion, depending on the sceneario. having a footknight or ironbreaker can save you bombs or potions. 1 firebomb, footknight stun or ironbraker taunt to keep them in the fire and they will die quite easily, saving your team precious resources. i have to agree on too many tanks being harmful. the lack of monster dps and horde clear will most likely result in death. also the traditional role of a tank cant be applied to vermintide as you mentionend.
    good video tho, really like watching your content

    • @JPG.01
      @JPG.01 Před 3 lety +1

      Monster damage is not a problem if your IB brings the masterwork pistol and drengbarazi oath. The foot knight can run a two handed weapon and deal damage not that bad as well. I can think of 2 bosses that a team of tanks will have problems with. Halescourge and Nurgloth. Because the time window to deal damage in is rather short.

    • @benmoore3816
      @benmoore3816 Před 3 lety +1

      @@JPG.01 The Trollhammer is pretty good too. Run shrapnel and drengbarazi oath, and you can get 2 shots off that deal +20% and then +40% damage. Agree on Halescourge and Nurgloth though. It's not just that they have huge health pools, but they're also incredibly resistant to stagger (immune in Nurgloth's case) so you can't even benefit from your level 15 talents unless you're running Smiter (IB only).

    • @jtcLIVE
      @jtcLIVE  Před 3 lety +7

      A tank could help in that situation, but with all of the crazy stuff in the game already (Strength bombs, Famished flame battle wiz, Invis backstab shade, RV with pistol, huntsman to name a few) patrols are super easy to quickly DPS down before they become an issue. I would agree that tanks are more useful against chaos patrols since they have more armor and more health and can't be killed as quickly as the other patrol types, but resources are so plentiful even in cata that saving resources isn't really necessary (not to mention bomb and potion dupe exists, plus RV potion and bomb drop too). Plus you want to kill patrols as quickly as possible to prevent spawns from stacking on top of each other which is best done with bombs and potions.

    There are no pure tanks in Vermintide 2. Both FK and IB have access to handgun with achievable breakpoints to one bodyshot instakill every special except the Wargor, even on vanilla cata. This makes them both an excellent special killer assuming they can aim. And the melee options available to FK and IB, while not DPS level, are more than adequate. FK with sword and mace has proper damage even for DWONS while IB can pick dual hammers or cog hammer for fast ult recharge. Your statement that they do not have enough damage or utility is therefore false and is sending the wrong message to new players.

  • @ChaosLemonVIII
    @ChaosLemonVIII Před 3 lety +3

    I love playing shade just for how much raw damage I can provide to high value targets. Any specials or elites? Sniped before they even get close with a repeater crossbow volley. Chaos warriors and Stormvermin never stand a chance when they get one shot. Bosses and monsters usually die within seconds after using infiltration (especially with a purple potion or gk on the team).
    Shade is still adept at horde clearing, however should let another class do more horde clearing as soon as her niche becomes needed.

    Funny, I like to think team comp in V2 might be the least important factor to succeed. Though I assume having this or that career might help a bit more sometimes, but it depends on situation or talent's placement in the scale of "From zero to OP".

      @inasapostle13thapostleofthe12 Před 3 lety +6

      Honestly it can matter a lot
      For example consider a team that has no one who can really deal with specials. It makes a run SO much harder.
      Or no one to deal with bosses. It drags out boss fights so much that hordes and specials can be tricky to deal with when they normally wouldnt be.
      Though of course it depends on difficulty and player skill.
      Good enough players can make nearly everything work.

    Iron breaker with shield weapon and drake gun, sister of thorn with staff and spear or glaive, battle wizard with flail or fire sword and any flame staff, and either grail knight or warrior priest as the last in my opinion would be the best squad(any elf career is good honestly). Iron breaker on a good player is unkillable and controls any fight.

    in my opinion battle wizard and handmaiden are a given if we were to look for THE optimal team.
    after that id probably add a grail knight due to the value they bring to the whole team and freeing up the other two to focus on their respective strengths. Given a high player skill id fill the last spot with a bounty hunter to trivialize boss and monster battles.
    tbh the kerillian pick basically decides the rest of the team setup for me. all 4 of her careers are excellent. but handmaiden fills such a unique spot and has the potential to singlehandedly decide games even when things go way south.

    Well. I do respect your opinion, but I do disagree. I just have 800 hours in the game but I rarely ever see Sienna in cata. While I don't want to say that she's weak, other classes can do what she does better. RV for example with the cog hammer and masterwork pistol can do it all. Pick off specials, shred hordes and delete armored units as well as completely delete bosses, on top of that he gets a panic button that allows him to get out of sticky situations not many other classes could as easily. I think a RV is one of the best classes in the game. As for utility classes I think that Warrior Priest has the best ult in the game. Healing the damage of the past 3 seconds and granting invincibility for 5 seconds can save the game. His weapons are quite great as well, he is pretty damn tanky with his health and his perks for the whole team. I think the video came out before him, right? He might lack damage, but with the holy great hammer he can deal with hordes and armored units alike with relative ease - in clutch moments the flail and shield saves his life and hp too. Tanks are in Vermintide to sustain the team and save up on resources. Do you need them? No. Of course not, if you play with pre mates. If not? Tanks are great to keep the team sturdy when there's a lack of communication. The extra health allows the team to take an extra hit too.
    My opinion is, any team works as long as the experience and communication is well enough. I don't think Sienna is anywhere near game changing enough to be the deciding factor of the entire team comp. I think the team might be better off with something else that grants the team some passive ability - like sott with extra temp health generation, GK with his quests, FK with either damage reduction or WHC with the extra damage against tagged enemies. What does Sienna bring to the table for the team? Pretty much just being specialized on one or two things, while not affecting the team. Except maybe for UC whose ult gives a little bit of thp to the team. I don't want to hate on Sienna, I just don't see her as important or useful as the others, which is a big shame because she has such an unique way to play.

    • @veleho6454
      @veleho6454 Před rokem

      BW is usually played with Corus, Bolt or Beam. Which you pick depends on the comp.
      If you are running corus, your special sniping is indeed limited. You do however destroy everything that isn't super armour.
      With bolt you destroy all specials and elites with ease. Sit in the backline and keep high overcharge for faster bolt charging. You actually still destroy hordes because of fire sword+ult. So you indeed can do both. Even in modded you can kill specials fast enough so I guess that counts as quicksniping?
      That leaves beam. Beam has the highest monster dmg out of all 3. Has good horde dps with the shotgun blast and not good but manageble special sniping.
      So in conclusion BW is probably the most op career in the game and is borderline mandatory in modded if you wanna have an easy time. Hopefully this essey gave some clarity :)
