I was expecting him to transform to a Chiron
The part shifting makes perfect sense as to why the heli mode looks so futuristic. As it chooses function over disguise. It's kind of like the "third modes in beast wars. It doesnt disguise well, but it does function well.

Theory: What if Megatron was still alive after the events of Dark of the moon and never became Galvatron?

Also in AOE Drift threw his second katana at a KSI drone but at the end of AOE we saw he never grabbed it back therefore him losing a rotor blade for the helicopter so he just gave it up. He most likely didn’t grab the katana after the throw because if he still had the 2 katanas, he wouldn’t be as fast.

No. At the end of AOE, he lost a sword in battle , both his swords became helicopter blades, so when he lost a sword, he was unable to become a helicopter.

The helicopter was a CYBERTRONIAN helicopter and he had to give up the helicopter for a new color and new alt mode so thats why he doesn’t have a helicopter mode.
It wasnt cybertronian helicopter, it's a bit futuristic but still scanned from human made helicopter

I can see how you were trying to make sense of this, and it is a pretty good theory, but I still think Drift is a triple regular changer. And could of if he wanted to go from car mode to helicopter mode. And the reason he didn’t is because AOE was lazily made. I think the reason we never saw Drift transform between his two alt modes is the same reason we didn’t have one on screen transformation for Hound and Crosshairs. And another reason why I think Drift is still a triple changer is because his robot parts don’t disappear when he transforms in his Bugatti mode. Why can’t he go from car to chopper? That’s my thoughts.

He probably still had it but Michael bay just was lazy so thats why his helicopter mode wasn't in the movie or it's because drift only has one sword in TLK

Also drift really has no reason to transform into a helicopter in the last knight anyway... I mean he barely had any screen time and when he had screen time he wasn't really doing much. Wasn't Revenge of The Fallen megatron the first triple-changer as he has both a tank mode, and an alien jet mode? And we also saw him freely change between both modes.

It's important to note that in TLK, the Autobots and Cade are wanted fugitives/criminals. Why would Drift want to blow their cover by casually transforming into a helicopter in their junkyard base?
Well he had no purpose to become to transform into one but crosshairs was on that flying mini drone in the junkyard and that could have blown their cover
Trans Theories To be fair, Crosshairs looked like he was just flying a few feet above the ground. A bright red helicoprer would've been suspicous to TRF's eyes in the sky.

who did what ? Barricade got defeated by Optimus Prime at the end of the film after seeing bonecrushers brutal end. Seriously that's what happened barricade was dumb enough to go up against a prime and he came off second best being defeated not killed only defeated.

I guess Drift showed us the first ever parts shifter unlike Shatter and Dropkick as they are triple changers that can transform from a car into a military aircraft then robot mode but what confuses me is how can Shatter and Dropkick become both Aircraft and car modes without part shifting

Trans Theories you had said something about the swords and how one randomly appeared, my thoughts were that they need the "backpack" thing that every transformer has because it turns into a melee weapon. But I forgot that every transformer, (relatively speaking), is different so it would have to do with their vehicle.

i think the best word can be for a multi mode former is triple changer such as Astro Train is the classic and probably best example of being a triple changer from having 3 forms bot, train and shuttle.

You said That to be able to transformer from a helicopter to a car you would need to transform into a robot but in the bumble bee movie dropkick and shatter both transformed from a helicopter to a car without having to transform into a robot.

In the movie 02:19:09 we can see that drift throw his sword to the deceptions and after that 02:35:21 we can see that he already have ah 1 sword so its mean that he lost his 1 sword because he throw it on decepticons and thats why in tf-tlk he cannot transform into helicopter cause he have only 1 sword...its only my theory 😁

Actually, Dropkick had 2 alternate modes in Bumblebee 2018, a classcic car and a helicoptrr
So, I assume Bumblebee's voice is next on the list? Just wondering. Anyway, I feel like the brutal beating Bee got from Nemesis Prime is akin to to smacking a static TV until it works. It wasn't a good method but it still somehow solved the problem.

Drift does have his Helicopter Mode in Transformers The Last Knight because if you watch All Drift Scenes from Transformers The Last Knight were he is doing the second No Fear No Hate No Anger meditation you can see that he is using one of his swords to hold him up and when he spins sideways and puts his arm out you can see Drift having his other sword in his hand.
It takes a ton of focus just to do it because of there three modes. Car helicopter snd robot form takes up a lot of space in a transformers body if they were to get a fourth that transformer would fall apart and die

I don't believe it's because he didn't want to change into a helicopter I just believe that that helicopter mode is only made by some of his robot and car parts and needs the two main swords and two daggers to make the full rotor, so when he loses one of his main swords in this movie and has only one in TLK that disables him to turn into a helicopter because he can't complete the rotor to fly, but that's just what I think

I think in the 5th transformers movie when drift the Mercedes was unable to transform into a chopper concept. When I watched AOE. Drift was a Bugatti and turn into a heli concept
I tink its triple changer. Robot/Car/Heli. Also he has blades on his back and he puts one sword one his back, which(I'm not sure) can split in order to make the helicopter blades when transforming.
Thats what i was thinking to that they could splt to make the dubble bladed look

in a future transformers series i wanna see drift looking like his g1 version, he was originally called deadlock when he was a decepticon, i hope he transforms into a nissan silvia in a future transformers series, and i hope ken watanabe in a future transformers series
A good theory, but its most likely he didnt have enough screentime or the CG artists/writers didnt have any scenes where it could be used. They have the Knights Temenos to fly around along with those fighters. Same thing with Bumblebee getting his hammer. It was litterally probably just "hmm. we should give Bumblebee a hammer. It would look cool." I like these movie's but quality writing and new CG models are expensive, which is why we get recycled Fighters from DOTM in AOE and TLK, why Grindor is just 50% larger blackout, why we see Brawl and Bonecrusher in DOTM as background characters, etc. Transformers has some of the most advanced CGI and its rlly hard to fill a movie with 100% new content

In a future transformers series I want to see drift but not a triple changer he will a mixture of his la version, animated prowl and yoketron, blitzwing to be a triple changer but looking like his g1 version, springer being a triple changer, octane being a triple changer, and astrotrain being a triple changer but looking like his g1 version, also turning into a space shuttle and a subway train, shatter and dropkick has triple changers both of them get killed by bumblebee, blitzwing also gets killed by bumblebee, but gets revived by shockwave, he gets killed by bumblebee again but doesn't come back, octane gets killed by powerglide, astrotrain gets killed by lockdown (he becomes an autobot)
