Trench has become a surprising fan favorite, which came out if nowhere for me. The guy has no lines and only appeared for half a minute, yet its more famous than possibly multiple g1 characters.
I never understood why that was the case, but its always interesting to see, one of my favorites is Jolt and he falls into the same case as trench

I always wished Trench had been flushed out, a Decepticon turncoat would have been an interesting character. But thanks for making this video, I have been wondering what happened to him since I first watched TLK.

I think in rise of the dark spark it brought it up but that is non canon for a lot of reasons

As always, another good theory! There’s SO MUCH wasted potential with some Autobots and Decepticons, like Jolt, Devastator, Dino (even though his voice actor died). AND there were some that we could’ve seen, such as Bruticus, since three of the five members were present in the films (Blackout/Grindor, Brawl, and Onslaught). I have been trying to work on a 3D model concept for a movie Bruticus, too!
And just a little something, five Transformers that I feel like could’ve had more of a part in the movies are Jolt, Devastator, Shockwave, Soundwave, and Dino. A few close three would’ve the wreckers. What do you think, Trans Theories?

@@Theorymus and one thing. For a Bayformers combiner, I would think the minimum number of members for a larger combiner like Devastator or Bruticus would be 6. Smaller combiners like infernocus would be like 3-4, due to their lesser mass and height in the full combine mode. Possibly.
So I thought maybe if Bruticus would be made up of 6 or 7 Combaticons, one being a slight redesign of Desert Brawl, and the seventh maybe another fighter jet or helicopter.
But if you have a different POV about that, let me know please.
Did you just say blackout is part of Bruticus I mean you are kind of right because of energon Bruticus but vortex is the real combaticon helicopter

It just goes to show how lazy the producers got after making alot of these movies despite them all doing well except the last knight and alot of ideas of the many characters you suggested could have been implemented at some point throughout the movies or have even better potential instead of just being there due to the writing, "cough cough" jolt.
Oh what happened to trench? the writers simply forgot about him, just like they did with the rest of the dinobots, they could have done something him and make him into a likeable character or better yet I have a few ideas they could have done with trench
1. Give trench a character arc about him being a former Decepticon and some of the Autobots are divisive about him with them. Some people including cade takes a liking to him and show how much they care for him even giving him a gift. Before the attack hound and trench come up with a plan you'll find out later. When Megatron raids the junkyard some of the Decepticons thought about killing him, but Megatron would step in convincing trench to join them again by killing hound, trench shoots hound dead, fast forward (I'd be writing too much) Trench betrays the Decepticons then hound shows up and it was revealed that both trench and hound came up with a plan to fake his death with a holographic illusions so trench could leak info of the Decepticons plan to hound.
2. Same thing as the first but Megatron interrogates trench, and trench yells out "I will never be aligned with the Decepticons again, I made my choice" Megatron walks and tells the Decepticons to tear hi apart, not only showing how much of a threat the wannabe suicide squad are. But also show that trench would die for the Autobots even if most of them didn't like. Then hound would tip his as a way of showing his respect for him being an Autobot to the end. And have hound acknowledge his death to the Autobots and make most of the Autobots realize that he really was an autobot.
For spark sakes I'm a random TF fan and even I could write a better story than TLK.
I love this idea, I wish you were directing tlk then maybe people would actually still care about transformers movies

If Trench was truly Scrapper, would he not just instantly change sides back to being a Decepticon the moment Megatron showed up? After all, he is a Decepticon at heart, he would want to instantly change to the winning side, which in the junkyard battle was clearly going to be the Decepticons. And being a constructicon, which makes him a particularly old and loyal Decepticon, he would be rather pleased to join his old leader Megatron again. I feel according to this theory, that the only reason he would become an autobot would be out of sheer desperation and no hope for the Decepticon side making a comeback. But once they did, I beleive he would simply join up with them again.
Yeah I think he would at least get punished. The only one who seems to get away with that is starscream
Pretty sure Megatron doesn't take any Traitors even if you were a former deception, what Megatron really needs is reliable subordinates and followers not two faced ones

Fun fact astrotrain refused to die so he took the risk way and later in the last knight he was suppose to have a battle with trench where trench would decapitate astrotrain and astrotrain shooting a explosive bullet executing them both (this is true cuz astrotrain was shown as many different trains passing by in dark of the moon age of extinction and the last knight).
so what happened to Astrotrain after? I must know now! lol

@@Captain-Obvious-Idiot I'm aware, but you phrased it as that was what was supposed to happen, implying that that is not what happened. Bringing this video as proof, Astrotrain wasn't at the Junkyard fight, only Nitro Zeus, Dreadbot and Mohawk. So taking into account that according to the video Trench died at the Junkyard, he wouldn't have been alive to decapitate Astrotrain. So, my question still stands. Did astrotrain get decapitated by someone else, or did he die in a different manner, if he died at all?

YES I've been researching what happened to him forever but u just gave me a satisfying conclusion trench is just really cool despite only being in robot mode for a couple seconds
I kind of imagine that a transformer’s eye color depends on their mindset. Barricade has both red and blue to show the duality of the police force, kinda like good cop, bad cop. Scrapper’s eyes changed to blue because he left behind the con life. Wheelie’s eyes stayed red probably because of his personality; you know, humping a certain someone’s leg, being kinda like a misbehaving child in dotm, that sort of stuff. It’s a flawed theory but I bet it can work.

I remember seeing this movie in theaters and seeing Trench and being so confused as he’s only around for a short moment so this was nice to see and get an explanation

As a fan of Devastator and Constructicons then is nice to see how he became Trench. I had this doubt since the movie came out! Thanks!

i believe that the one who killed tranch wasnt barricade, because he plays as a cop and is extremely loyal to megatron, so he heeded his orders, nitro did the same, so i suspect onslaught to be the suspect, he is an executioner

Always thought Barricade’s blue optics were because (in DotM) the soldiers sniped those two eyes in particular, partially blinding him

5:33 There were technically 4 constructicon drones. You forgot Ramage, who was a Red copy of Skipjack.
The reason why I left him out was because like demolisher, he could talk and was a different color

I believe the Eye Color thing is just the state of mentality or deep perspective of things. So it's nice that he had some off screen character growth😊

i remember the original video on trench you talked about how megatron held trench and realized he used to be a Decepticon so he was like "traitor!" and executes him, that was so cool

Scrapper was my favourite of decepicons after shockwave This theory warms my heart to know there's the chance he survived

In my AU version of the tlk trench is a autobot engineer and maintenance officer who was taught by wheeljack/Q back on cybertron. Trench would be captured and imprisoned on lockdown ship forced to fix any problems the ship had, he would be freed by one of the dinobots who stayed behind to fix damages he was given by lockdown. He would rejoin the autobots after hiding out and at the junkyard trench would use the junk to make new parts. And knowning the odds are against him he would not join hound as he would escape to the town and would use an oil tanker as a bomb near nitro zeus and mohawk which causes mohawk defeat. After that he wouldn't do much until the final battle as he managed to find out that the staff was the key to stop quintessa plan. Other then that trench also in the final battle turned the ships that were shot down into semi moblie turrets with hot rod giving him cover and would use the turret to stun and weaken infernacus giving prime the opportunity to take him down. During the fight with quintessa and megatron trench would use his excavator mode to ram into megatron who had pinned down hot rod and swipe his broken sword, trench would chuck the sword bit at quintessa a bit later. Other then that not much other i can say he is the huffer of the movie

Rewatching this entire series as an adult made me realize this entire franchise was a huge ad which is probably why most of the transformers especially autobots screentime were just the cars themselves. Especially bumblebee the Camero which probably became really popular from this series

This is my theory how trench survive by the way awesome video: Trench jumps out of his hiding spart he sees nitro chagrining at him so Trench picked up a truck with his claw and threw it at nitro stunning him, but dread Bot shot trench in his CAT symbol in his chest making trench fall back, then mohawk tried to jump on trench but trench smacked away, dread bot tried to shoot trench again but he used a car to black the shot, when nitro got back up trench knew he had to retreat plus he saw hound get shot by Megatron trench wished hound the best of luck and drove escaping from the deceptions.
well trans you where right that his claw is a weapon. but if you remember i said all the desepticons he was a match for. and the most of them where powerful like meg's crew. but i said those because if trench has a perfect shot he could use his scoop to take the spark out

Even Jetfire changed sides as he didn't like how the decepticons went about their day.
His claw is not the only weapon he has the scoop arm and I’m pretty sure he punched one by moving it to make it hit the bottom so you can just make it look like a fish and hit someone and then you can also use it to scoop someone up for a trap on the feet on their hands or something else so it’s not his only weapon
You know I just thought of something. Why do damaged Decepticons choose a slow vehicle mode, couldn't Trench had chosen a faster land mode or a flying one or even a boat?

The reason why I like trench is because he looks just like a decepticon, bonecrusher he looks intimidating, but he’s an autobot
I love how bonecrusher is killed in the first film but is seen rolling to battle during the second movies desert scene. It's argued that bonecrusher somehow survived and is still locked up in the prison that held Megatron's crew. As Megatron himself was a little scared of bonecrusher
