  • Spoken French is so much more than just written French read aloud. Actual spoken French is almost a completely different language than the technical written French, which is what you were taught in schools. School French unintentionally sets you up for failure to progress quickly in speaking and understanding everyday French. Written exams prioritize grammar & conjugation that are rarely used, and you have limited opportunities to practice speaking and understanding. We specialize in everyday spoken French here at Comme une Française - and that includes giving you more of those opportunities to practice! In today's lesson, I'll cover some French pronunciation tips that you can use to improve your “accent” and fluency, so you can sound more naturally French in your conversations.

At Comme une Française, we specialize in everyday spoken French. We focus on three unique aspects that are different from school French, self-study books, Duolingo, etc:
    1. We focus only on the specifics of speaking/understanding/being understood in everyday French and have unique ways to help you learn it properly & faster.
    2. We focus on shortcuts to help you make progress faster, which also means we tell you exactly what you can stop learning to prioritize what’s really important.
    3. We use French culture as the subject to make it fun and interesting for adults.
    Take care and stay safe.
    😘 from Grenoble, France.

That was a fun (but difficult) challenge!! Merci!
Interesting story: my French friend’s young child got in trouble in his English-speaking school for saying “doudou.” It sounds like our childish name for “poop” in English and he went to the principal’s office for “swearing.” Sad for the little boy.

Pouvez-vous faire plus les videos comme celle-ci? Ce sont les meilleur pour moi et je les aime vraiment beaucoup.
The subtly is really easy for me to hear but difficult for me to say correctly with consistency, especially with the repeated pattern in one sentence. I get it right maybe the first 5 times and then after that I start to mix together. I've already re-watch this one video over 10 times. Merci beaucoup 🥰🙌

Helpful. Thanks. I was conversationally fluent in German decades ago. When I first learned that "de" in French is pronounced like "dö" in German and that "du" in French is pronounced like "dü" in German, those French sounds became much easier for me to use in French. Also, I'm enjoying your February 30-day Challenge! Prior to finding your CZcams channel, my French training was all about written French. Spoken French came as a complete shock. Thank you for helping me navigate the transition of written to spoken.
