- The Glitch Mob was gracious enough to invite UA into their Silverlake studio for a first-hand look at the way they used an arsenal of UAD Powered Plug-Ins to craft their debut album, Drink The Sea. In this UA Artist Tips & Tricks video, edIT and Boreta demonstrate several signature Glitch Mob treatments for drums, synths, and ambience using their favorite compressors, reverbs, and effects. Enjoy!

Thank you!
Been listening to The Glitch Mob for years! Great music!
I just discovered Glitch Mob a few days ago. Holy smokes they’ve got some fkn jams!
Today I learned:
Buy a fuck ton of plug ins and crank everything to ten
more UA Artist Tips & Trinks!! for electronic music, please!
but why not crank them up to 11?
this is crazy how they use these plugins, nobody else thinks like these guys do!
Thank you! Such a great video!!!
such a quality demo. Great video work and feature list! I own the original and this gave me ideas :) thanks
@3:32 should be the reason why they're called the glitch mob. Mind. Blown.
Yes-
EdITs voice is good
Hey Guy, Thanx for the tips ........I hv recently purchased a UAD@ Neve getting a hang of it.
I have the sneaking suspicion that you could produce most of these sounds without using effects plugins that cost $250 each.
MOAR! pls.
I was just wondering today what sound that was in Animus Vox. I recognized it as soon as you started messing with the space echo.
UA has some great plugins, but, nothing beats my experience at CRAS with their outboard gear!!!
I'm using that sound interface =D Duet ftw!
"so the output and the mix are all cranked-up-to-10.." XD Make that eleven, but it still sounds the dopest band around!!
#wewantmoaarrr
crank everthing!!!
Just being honest here...I'm a recent convert from FL to Ableton and would like to point out that while many things can be done in both programs...it's definitely not done in the same way. There is usually an extra step or other plugin you have to add in FL. For me, Ableton is intuitive for composing creatively while FL can crank out basic beats faster. You can do complicated things in FL, but it's harder to do there than in Ableton. FL needs midi conversion, looper, and drum rack.
nice thanks!
Are there any The Glitch Mob tracks that currently have that sawtooth chain?
UAD can you change the name of the video? When searching because your plugins are adding glitches to my mixes this is the results I get.
Thx
daaaamn peep that trackball!
Could you point out some examples? I really can't find anything in this clip that I can't make in FL. And if you're talking about adding extra plugins, he's using a lot of them. Why would you need a drum rack?
i fucking love the glitch mob!!!
SLAMMIN IT
They're using Ableton Live. But, all the things they just demonstrated in this video can be done the exact same way in FL.
that moog filter... OMG!!!!!
What is that tune at 5:30, because it sounds familiar... Is that from one of their songs, or did they just make it for the video?
what program is used to use these plug-ins?
Ohhh when people say distortion makes a sound better they mean literal distortion and not just added transients with a bitcrusher
do u have a mac?
What about the massive clipping ?
SOLD
I actually plan on making a video series about this. I've been looking for a good series to base my first vids on and I think a lot of people are trying to do what I'm doing with switching from FL to Ableton. It really is a serious upgrade for someone with my production style. I don't know what you use or how, but Ableton has got my number...I owned the lite version since Sonar 4 and never got into it...wish I had back then.
coool
I had that suspicion 2 years ago. Trust me, none can compare. Similiar, but after you work with second-hand stuff long enough, you'll yearn for the edge only UAD can provide.
Anybody have any idea what synth the glitch mob uses for their melodies? Love the sounds on the melodies. :D Hope for some good answers :)
They appeared to be using Vanguard for that saw patch.
it was just a saw from any plugin. what makes the sound seems to be the UAD plug ins ;)
oh glitch mob
Never heard of that one, I use AbleTRON!
me too.
dank fedora bro
Esse vídeo não está embaçado demais não, hein? kkk
@edorocks you're not that musically savvy are you?
He also said "girth" in relation to bass fatness. SOLD!
not quantized...
Abletron..
Ableton....
USE YOUR MUGGLE WORDS
Drum racks are a ridiculous improvement over ALL DAWs, not just FL...The fact you can layer, add fx, split drums and layered fx and do it all within a single mix track. You can add racks inside of racks. Yes you can layer, etc in FL. But it leaves a mess of a project that you have to manually reorganize rather having it all in one track that you can just unfold and go deeper into.
this was pretty helpful, but i cant afford all these plugins. they are like 200 bucks each.
Soundtoys.
Moooooog not Mog :)
Nope
I'm anal, he said "basically" three times by 1:21 so I stopped the video.
relatively useless info. one needs instruction on this??
its a tips and trick video not a fucking guide or a how to use video. They are showing us their way of thinking on how to use the software to create the sound that goes into their songs.
tips and tricks - how to use the most overpriced plugins and get paid for the plug......
I don't even know who glitch mob is, nor have I heard any of their music but after this video I can tell their stuff sucks haha
Time to assemble to hate army.
If you have better music to let us hear, please don't hesitate to share...
lol... these are just sound files hes editing on a production software to make into a song. Go listen to Drink The Sea album and come back to apologize. You must go to a drum tips and trick video of famous renown drummer and say that he makes shit music based on him only showing about the usage of cymbals.
Love Death Immortality or See Without Eyes are two of the best albums made.
