I just realized why Sharpe is immune to the Sean-Bean-dies curse: all of wives catch it.
Sadly Jane never got it!!!!
A transferable "asset".
@@JTB198819962006 In the novels she's as good as.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Colum Peel true. She certainly would have suffered from the news of Rossendale’s death.
Once again Patrick Harper proves that he is the main reason why Sharpe is one of the few Sean Bean characters to stay alive to the end
They originally had him cast as a necromancer that raises Ned Stark for GoT season 9
Exactly! the only reason that sharp managed to make it through alive is because he had a man who was dedicated to watching his back at all times.
Pat Harper was the only bugger big enough to handle that seven barrelled volley gun😊
*Achivement unlocked*
"Luck of the Irish"
Sharpe has Earned an Achievement:
*Lady Luck’s Divorcing You*
that includes Wellington
All these years later, and Harper is still using the nock gun Sharpe gave him.
Shooting three men dead with a single shot?
That's Pat Harpering!
John Springate that’s a volley gun!
Only three, we've seen Pat do better with that hand cannon.
Nock gunning
lol... just lol
@@derekchant8027
Nock Gun is the name, supposed to be for the Navy but it got rejected.
We all need a friend like Harper.
Having a reunion
Thats being a friend
Sergeant Major Harper is the senior NCO all officers need.
Harper: So anyways I start blasting.
Patrick has Earned an Achievement:
*Triple Kill*
Sharpe has Earned an Achievement:

He can not just catch a break and have a lasting marriage.
Luck of the Irish

@Bill McKay lol
@Kabuki Kitsune haha :P
@Bill McKay XD glad to have a decent paddy

So an Irishman and an Englishman Walks into India and...........
One does not simply walk into India.
...aaaand demonstrate there just what a Baker Rifle and Nock 7-barreled Volley-Gun can do at point-blank range
That’s soldiering
There is heat there that does not sleep. The very air you breath sucks the moisture from your tongue and somehow transfers it to your testicles whereby your niblets forever cling to your inner thigh. Ti's a cursed place where kids pester you constantly and adults look at you like you are complete tit.
Foods good though.
And the Englishman looks for the nearest Spoons...
First. I always recommend this when I see someone with the name sharpe.
Now that's fandomming
What the Indian captain says towards the end sounds so classy.
"Mr Harper? Well, it would appear we have all been premature in our prayers at your passing."
Harper has the perfect Irish accent; especially when he deepens his voice like when he says luck of the Irish.
It helps that his actor is actually Irish.
Harper returns?
May this be classed as soldiering?
Your request has been processed and approved.
His return is proper soldiering.
Attempted return to soldiering with a seven barrell volley fire......now that's soldiering.
@@Floreal78 now that's volleying.
"Returning from the dead" to save your CO/best friend?
Now that's soldiering.
Thank you so much for uploading Challenge clips!
I've always like Patrick and his volley gun!
Once you saw that nock valley gun we knew it was our favourite bloke
Saving your long time friend, and former commanding officer again? Well, if you don't know what it is, allow me to put it in the words of a certain Major Pyecroft. "That's soldiering."
Ah yes Mohammed al harper of the sultan's foreign legion he was my favourite character I wish we had seen more of him.
Sharpe is single again? Huh...
What woman will fall into his arms this time?
Gotta be a Indian beauty!
perhaps buy a local girl forced into slavery with the money he got from his last wifes wedding band now thats' sold er ring .
Kagney Linn Carter
John of the family Stevens ; 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
He’s two for three deaths, is he going for the quad heartbreak?
The bands back together!
Harper taking down 4 with a multi barrel musket. Now that's soldiering!
First Sharpe books I read were the India trilogy and they're still my favorite.
The setting.
He is old friend always on his side. Following.
Nock Nock
Love it
That War was all over herion and Sharpe caught up in the middle. A bit like Afghanistan. Harper saves his friend once again. Great show.
I'D KNOW THAT GUN ANYWHERE!!!
JAYSUS, Wellington could have given poor Sharpe a new tropical uniform.
Sharpe has kept his 95th uniform since the beginning. He never got the red like a normal officer because he always wanted to be with his men. Plus it's kind of a reminder to Major Hogan who gave him the uniform. Or you mean a new 95th uniform that's more fit for the hot environment.
@@AlphaLeader42 Sort of mean both.
I know Regimental origin was a massive factor in the 18/19th century British military.
But TV wise, seeing Sharpe in red would look odd.
@@Mugdorna well we actually DO in a flashback scene in this episode
@@AlphaLeader42 Red and Yellow? Not every Soldier of the British Army had yellow on their uniform.
@@KolibriMert sorry I don't know about british uniforms
Where can the full videos be streamed from?
Best thing about the India episode is all the comments of the people who didn't know it existed.
Like me... (?)
Ah, that made my day.
The books had Sharpe in India well before he ever met Harper. Also, it was in India where Sharpe saved Wellington and was made an Officer.
And I was thinking.....
That no one had worse luck with the Ladies.....
Well,
Thank you Major Sharpe....

Patrick Harper...best damn Irishman ever was!!
Could someone please upload this whole episode here on CZcams? Please?? It seems impossible for me to see it otherwise...
Where can you watch these ?
Does anyone know if the full movie of Sharpe's Challenge is available anywhere? Sharpe's Peril also?
Killing off Sharpe's wife for no reason?
That's Bullshiting
Think the word your looking for is budgeting. Probably cost them the entire budget just keeping everyone from dying from heat stroke in those uniforms.
It’s atleast plausible in this time period
That's Bernard Cornwelling...
@@lordjohn342 no it isn't Bernard Cornwell reassured fans that Lucille is alive and well in the Sharpe universe after this came out.
All these years, I thought it was...”Curse of the Irish. You just can’t beat it”
What season/episode is this from?
I don’t go anywhere without my volley gun 👍
Where is the episode this if from?
finding your friend Now Thats Soldiering
What can I watch sharpe on
It hurt me when they didn't hug
What is this one called? I've seen all the ones about the napoleonic Wars but not this one
What is this film called?
Harper fires the Nock gun from the hip... This firearm was known to break men's shoulders when fired.
Someone please tell me: where can I watch all of the Sharpe series? I cant seem to find the last episodes/season?
Challenge and Legend are on Netflix, still haven't seen them myself yet! Fixing that issue later on today for sure
Harper and his good friend mr nock
I actually have one of the Indian 'Tulwar' sabres used in this episode myself
@Glinkling Smearnops not really just bought it, they put them up for sale online occasionally, might be able to get your own? 🙂 Not on eBay anymore though sadly as they don't do swords anymore
I had a genuine late 18th/early 19th c. Wootz Tulwar recently. Sold it on.
Something something...
That's soldiering
One does not simply has that kind of luck...
What happened to Sharpe's sword, that's what I want to know? He has his Baker Rifle, sash and uniform still and Harper has his Volley-Gun, so where's Sharpe's sword (a combination of the hilt and scabbard from a 1796-pattern British heavy cavalry sword and a Spanish Toledo blade, as personally reforged by Harper after the original broke in battle and Sharpe almost died, in the EPISODE "Sharpe's Sword", so it's kinda a big deal)? Could they not find the original anymore or had sold it or something and couldn't be arsed buying or making a new one?
Probably found its way into Anduril, also called the Flame of the West, the sword which was reforged from the shards of Narsil.
Boromir even says it is still Sharp!
Bloody fever
when was this filmed?
It came out in 2006, so probably filmed in either 2005
Can someone tell me where I can watch this series ! I've got the box set of the peninsular wars but this seems to be after that ?
@@joe_5768 I got a double set (boxed) last week. Sharpe's Challenge and Sharpe's Peril. Got them on eBay - Plenty more on offer cheap.
Netflix has them
Little use Harper wearing a disguise, as soon as he opened his mouth he may as well have worn a green top hat with a shamrock in the band.
It's the eyes. Even with the mask up, I knew it was him
1:22 Having your character killed off because they don't want to pay you for another appearance?
Now that's guest starring!
You can't kill Pat.
common at least give that booger a proper hug
After he comments on Harper's "new tailor" he seems to move to take a step forward - they hugged on meeting before Waterloo, after all - but he stops when Harper doesn't reciprocate.
These guys come in like Mexican bandits with swords.
Which novel was this taken from?
It's a mix between Tiger and Triumph (first and second book). Sharpe infiltrates a fort in order to investigate about the mines in the west wall in Tiger, and Major Dodd and his treacherous acts are from Triumph (though I'm still in the process of reading it). Just for further incentive: Hakeswill is in both. That's right, they both take part before Sharpe meets his Riflemen.
This is not how my mount and blade games go
Hahaha harpers Guns mint
So Harper left because he felt like it.

Which Sharpe is this from?
Sharpe's Challenge I think Edit: Yeah it is. It's in the description.

i wonder if the people who were living in ireland during the time of the potato famine, really mentioned the saying the luck of the irish at that time, because basically the famine in ireland was caused by politicians who were far away in london, and they could not possibly care about the lives that they were destroying in ireland, which was more or less seen as another british colony at the time, and even if some of these lords did have estates in ireland, or were indeed perhaps irish there selves you do have wonder being the hugely rich men that they were if they could possibly even comprehend the suffering that rich men like there selves caused in ireland, and did they even think about lifting a finger to help the local peasants, some of which who may well have worked for them on there estates, and even if one or two did it would be too late and never enough, not that the rich would even think about what they did and did not do as an act of evil, and off course the lucky one`s that survived hopefully made it all the way to america, where hopefully freed from british tyranny they finally made a success of there lives.
CAN SOMEONE MAKE SHARP A MEME PLZ
So The Indians Were pretty much Better in Sword Fighting than the French? LoL
It’d actually be interesting to see who had the most melee based combat during that time. See who was the most experienced.
@@Southern_Crusader Napoleon said one mameluke could take on 3 of his cavalrymen. But 100 of his cavalry could easily take on 300 mamelukes. There is far more to combat than individual martial prowess.
owning the series but watching the youtube so you can read the comments..
thats a... watching?
Edit, the amazon Sharps challenge cut out that Sharps french wife is dead...
That's actually a good thing, because killing her off screen was stupid and pointless.
Bad audio
Not setting up a picket line so gets ambushed by bandits every time...
That's not soldiering.
He didnt die in National Treasures.
Sharpe is an O-5, what's (or was) Harper's rank?
Sergeant Major.
REGIMENTAL Sergeant-Major, and Sharpe was a Lieutenant-Colonel by the end (well unless the Prince Of Orange had him demoted for swearing at and trying to shoot him lol)
Gentleman horse trader.
Fatrick Parper
I thought India was supposed to have happened in Sharpe's earlier years, and he didn't meet Harper until later on, in Spain?
The TV series does it differently to the books.
The prequel novels didn't exist when the series originally aired. When they decided to bring it back for a couple of episodes, there wasn't much source material. I would rather they had attempted to do Sharpe's Devil. Seemed ridiculous to kill Lucille too. In Devil, she is very much alive and fully supportive of Richard going all the way to Chile. No reason she would have stopped him going to find Harper in India.
They weren't terrible episodes but the sheer amount of contrivances they needed to rehash the prequel novels was ridiculous.
What friends are for!?
How can the bad guys win against BOTH Sharpe and Harper?
The script writers decided that was the way it was going.
Harper calling Sharpe Richard .. strange. really strange.
I don’t remember the scene about his wife dying
It was an odd thing to include. In the books she outlives Sharpe.
That was a really underwhelming reunion :(
I'm confused. So sharpe wasn't hanged?
Are you talking about Sharpe's Honour? Cause in that episode they hang somewhat of a "doppelganger", who turned out to be a real criminal. Or at least that's what Wellington says. They suspected it was a setup and that Ducos was behind it. Why do you think they gave him such a shitty lawyer? So that they'd make sure the hanging would "actually happen" and appease their Spanish allies.
Luck of the Irish captain you can't bet it.
Wait wait….Sharpe’s 2nd wife died?
Christ, his wives and all his soldiers have the Sean Bean curse - Sharpe lives but the laws of equivalent exchange demands blood nevertheless
Sharpe really can't keep a woman for more than fire minutes

The worse acting I've seen in ages, Carry on was better then this ''bastard'' the FX were rubbish, the acting second rate, the storyline even worse. Why did someone think this would have been good is beyond me
