    My xlt balck out package has all the options that's supposed to be in the lariat , per this video. I've also seen a lot of xlt's with the same options as mine. Furthermore, I absolutely love my ranger and wouldnt trade it for the world. It does amazing with towing for a midsize truck and does outstanding on the trails. Trail control is amazing as well. Highly recommend them to anyone around. With that being said, great video.

Use ONLY full synthetic motor oils SN+ rated to reduce carbon (in turbo applications) tho Ford has long history building race engines (not Toyota etc). If dealer changes ur oil request or bring ur own Mobil1 5w30 or Castrol Edge 5w30 w/you. Use Motorcraft filters only. Also, as an engineer you see which trucks I choose:). No Toyotas here. @dungteller367 Před 3 lety +2

    Well done video, thank you! I’d like to offer my (a Ranger owner) critique. I am trying to exert some influence on FORD. > The relatively new to the US market Ford Ranger is a mediocre vehicle. This is due to the manufacturer’s lack of both ethical and sensible business practices. I speak from first hand experience, having purchased a 2019 Lariat crew cab. There is a great amount of irony associated with this critique because this truck has a lurking potential for greatness. Just look at it, then drive it, it is impressive. It delivers a ride that a full size pick-up just can not match. So what’s my gripe? One engine no options and there should be, even though the stock engine performs just fine. The same applies to having a stick shift available. The rear seat is one piece, a folding seat adds so much versatility. The bed lacks all the extras that make your truck functional, Power plugs and storage compartments and the tailgate just flops down, without the easy access system. Inside the Lariat trim is not a Lariat trim, it isn’t even an XLT. Missing are memory seat function for two, vertical power seat adjustment, heated steering wheel, power sliding rear window. etc. The 2020 model changed nothing. Also consider that the truck was available in foreign markets, did they delete some components to save money? This isn’t the first blunder Ford has made, the scrimpy mentality and lack of foresight that brought us the “Pinto” is still galloping around in the Ford corral. As I stated there is a bit of irony in my critique, I like this truck perhaps if they didn’t call my truck a Lariat I would not be so bent out of shape. Since I first started posting this I’ve had some remarks mostly positive however a few guys said that those options don’t belong on truck. Of course then neither does a nearly $50K price tag. Truthfully todays trucks can come fully loaded with a bed on the back for work and hauling. I once purchased an F 150 XLT that was much better equipped than my current Lariat. I am trying to tell Ford to treat their customers better, they are the reason Ford exist. Ford has recently announced that there are upgrades available to the Ranger most along the lines of the not for sale in US, Ranger Raptor. Also there is a tailgate damper available for 50 bucks. They should have put that on my 46K dollar truck (cheap)

I suggest you trade-in soon while good deals goin on due to Covid-19! I have '19 XLT FX4 crew cab. U def want the FX4 feature! Better suspension & stronger components. The Ranger drives sporty & comfortable. Best in class in tech, features, powertrain, suspension. U won't go back after owning a Ford truck. Use good fuel to get full 300hp. I drove both recently. I've never owned a Toyota or Ford. The Ford was hands down superior.
      The only negative IMO for the Ford was the suspension might be too soft and wallowy, which can be fixed with various aftermarket kits fairly reasonably priced.
      The Toyota has several negatives. The seating position (and over hood visibility) was uncomfortable for my 5'11", 160 lbs body. No way to fix that with aftermarket stuff. Then there was the engine and transmission, which were just annoying, and slow. Again, no way to fix this with aftermarket. The Toyota was much hard to turn and park. I gave up and returned it to the salesman parking diagonally over two spots, lol.

      @@Aceinfinity-le8zc Well, its the second and pretty soon the oldest design in the midsize truck class. This design and look for the ranger has been around all over the world for the last 12 years, only the Frontier is older and its got re design coming finally. Boosted applications do not have the longevity of non boosted ones. This being a small boosted 4 cylinder leads me to believe theses truck will not have much longevity pass 75k miles cause its entire life is under boost. While under boost the gas mileage goes south fast. Towing in the ranger with a trailer and any kind of decent weight you get about 10 miles to the gallon in that small 4 clylinder pushing max boost most all the time, Due to all the boosting we are now seeing more and more Rangers that have fuel getting into the oil. The truck is over priced for what it is and its cost to build. They sell same truck all over the world for a good bit less money than they do in USA. The keep oooing and ohhing over the new over priced re designed F 150 meanwhile the ranger hits year 13 and cost almost as much as a f 150 . V6 NA motor would have been much better option for the ranger to me. I am looking for a truck and all the mid sizes, really wanted to the ranger but for these reasons its a no right now.

    • @hippo-potamus
      @hippo-potamus Před 4 lety

      An XL STX F150 blows this lil ranger out of the water. The only thing worse than this rangers pathetic design is fords new bronco. The fan concepts are far superior to these lame rollouts. Major fails and missed opportunities by ford imo.

    • @FordMaverickFanatic
      @FordMaverickFanatic Před 4 lety

      hippo potamus Please elaborate on how it is blown out of the water. Until you order 3.73 gears with a 2.7L, a 5.0L, a 3.5L EcoBoost, or the diesel an F-150 can tow within 100lbs of the Ranger. Unless your requirements are some heavy hauling, interior space, or bed space. This little truck is up to the task. And the Bronco is a great modern take on a classic design in my opinion. But to each their own!

    • @hippo-potamus
      @hippo-potamus Před 4 lety

      My main point was that for 38K this truck does not offer that much value when compared to the full size and imo is a total rip off. Do you honestly think that the ford bronco "modern take" as designed by the ford engineers looks better than the on line concepts designed by Mr. nobody-other-than-a-bronco-fan-joe-schmo? NO fuckn way man. The new bronco is hideous and most everyone I know is pissed off that ford would roll out such an ugly looking designed and ruin the bronco name. The new bronco is akin to the all female ghostbuster film.
