These are lovely. I have been making jewelry out of used guitar strings for 3-4 months now. You are not kidding they are springy lol. The hardest part I find is cleaning the used strings. I like to repurpose/recycle as much as possible. I am one of those that will add a bit of copper wire to mine, but this is a new style of bangle for me so will try it out without adding other wire. Thank you for the tutorial. ☺♥
Susan it came out perfect!! I was given a bunch of guitar 🎸 string so now I have 1 project to do! I think mine are all silver and not sure of the sizes right now as I’m not inside but regardless they should work! I have large hole Mardi Gras beads( think it would be really cool to do with them)! Great question! Try using rubbing alcohol or a simple microfiber cloth. Also, a handy trick is to wet a magic eraser, pinch it around the string and pull. You'd be surprised as to what a magic eraser can do for verdegree and grime! This last option should be fine as long as you are using them to make jewelry and not giving them as gifts for people to put on their guitars and play.
Yeah I get that it can be uncomfortable. Good news though, if you decide to use fake plastic pearls it won't really make that scraping noise, since real pearls are gritty and rough and plastic ones are not
