    What no one sees or hears as they said here in Iceland. All the other 4 songs in the national final were better but RÚV wanted Valgeir Guðjónsson(composer also in 87) to compete. Daníel Ágúst with his very short hair opposite to what was in fashion at the time did not take all the press meetings instead RÚV's producer at the time Björn Emilsson with his blow dried mullet did them and finally when Daníel came on stage that short young man with his super short hair everybody were very surprised.

    I can see you’ve ranked 🇬🇧 runner up behind some far weaker songs. But the biggest crimes here, imo, are the placings of Sweden and Yugoslavia - sorry! My ranting aside, good production from SRG SSR, but some *very* weak songs. My points:
    1p 🇭🇷 Yugoslavia
    2p 🇹🇷 Turkey
    3p 🇵🇹 Portugal
    4p 🇦🇹 Austria
    5p 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
    6p 🇫🇷 France

    I like your top. But I'll be honest. I really don't like Rock Me. It is too repetitive and honestly really mediocre, but considering that 1989 was very weak year, like as weak as 2011 in my opinion, I can see why it won as it is one of the better ones that year. However, Spain and Denmark were a lot better that year, so Yugoslavia is in my top 10 that year, but only at 10th sadly.

    This must be the worst ranking ever seen regarding Eurovision. Uk in 17th? You're having a laugh. The only song where the singer isn't shouting. One of the few who is in tune as well. If I cancel out the fact that the UK really was the best song,but I couldn't vote for it,Spain and Denmark would still rank above the repetitive Rock Me.Baby.

      @mjb22 Před 2 lety +1

      I have always thought that one of the travesties of Eurovision history was “Rock Me” winning this contest.
      It is an absolutely dreadful song and deserved to come last, not first! As you say, the UK was robbed.
