Right off the press I reset the surface on mine to 1500 grit polish. Excited to try it out later this week. Also punched a new ufo alert today 🙂
It's a Parallax with a weaker cover. It doesn't look like it changes motion much with change of hand position and release. Medium to dry oil ball, and looks like it will blend wet/dry better than anything else from SPI. I think this ball would suit the lower-speed THS bowlers very well. Very high-rev bowlers may also benefit from these characteristics. On the Storm 10 ways video, Joe and Chayton are the kind of bowlers I think will need this one. And if anybody else has Kendle's roll, this is their primo ball.
Agree. Looks like a good benchmark ball for women who play on dryish lanes and who want to stay right of the middle arrow.
Medium oil for sure. No way for dry lanes. Seems to be a lot of people who never really bowled on dry lanes. If you ever bowl in 4-8 lane small clubs, you'll see some truly dry lanes.
@@BornIn1500 When I bowled league in the early 1980's. Junior league's, I meant. We started @ 10:00am on Saturdays & The last time the oil machine was put down was @ 2:00PM on. Fridays. We learned how to bowl on Genuine Wood Lanes that were " SCREECHING " " DRY" Literally saw some balls almost turn & come back towards the foul line.lol🤣🤣😅😅
Reimgton1439 say thanks for the great observation but I don’t know Joe or Clayton or what kendle’s roll looks like. I’m not a 2hander but a lefty with 17hand speed revs 410 so but I’m watching and see it’s a good ball but as it’s been sai not much change to SPI stuff. I want Nex 1500 grit polish or I will take a Nex cover and make it a 1500 polish ball. R2S & Rex it seems are the only covers being made with the 4K fast.

What ball would you recommend for a 40+ foot sport shot? Such as the Tokyo 43?
I've tried my regular Gem but it just won't read it sometimes. And it flies right past the pocket.
Should I look for something that reads earlier or more of a "flip" type?

I don’t really but could find some room for it but I love my infinite PhisX and my Exotic Gem for that oli but I didn’t know it was for med-dry ball
For a asymmetric core ball it looks like it is more rounded then normal asymmetric cores from the past.

Do you think it will roll as good as my 14 lb absolute😢 too bad the numbers are different. This vid is awesome, keep doing you, and overall it looks like it has just as muck backend as the 14 lb
how i know what layout i useo n my ball? proshop drilled my gem but didnt tell me layout can someone explain little bit?
Love the Ball Videos. I see the Center That you review at doesn't Take care of The Approaches. If you Slide up 10 And Try to hit the 5 board. Looks like A Death Trap
Try a pair of Dexter's or Linds with the adjustable heel and soles. It will help compensate for tacky or slippery approaches.
I give you this I’ll get a Infinite Physix drilled when I come on tour this year.
Nice review, been on the fence about this ball for a while! Keep jumping back and forth if I rather own the Absolute or the Infinite Physix. In this review it looked like to my eye the Absolute deflected on a few shots, looked like it was losing energy at the end. Think when you moved right and said this is what the ball would rather be doing did it look like a monster ball. The 2 shots with the Infinite Physix just looked perfect. Still torn on which to get

I watched the Stepladders from 2 years ago. Honestly can't remember if it was P.B.A. championdhip/ worl series of Bowling, but one thing caught me by surprise. Simonsen bought a 30 year old urethane online for$200. And did great with it. I can't remember if it was the " Sumo" but with his Sick Rev. Rate. Older ball could not be picked up by the high tech tracking device???? Not sure why?

As a lane man... The first thing I notice is they need to steel wool the foul line and clean up those ball marks :)
I heard that SPI is struggling to find the right formula for most of its covers after the hardness fiasco last season. The balls are coming back with a slimy oil residue after shots killing the performance for future throws... If this is true, yikes!
So I was excited about this ball. But now I'm thinking I should get a infinite physics or a nova. I'm a avg speed, lower rev lefty with a 160 avg . Currently using og hy-road. Need advice
Infinite physix is our go to recommendation for almost everyone right now. Should be good separation from the Hyroad

For someone who is struggling with revs, I have a supernova as my main ball, would this ball fit in at all?
It would. But I think we would recommend either infinite physix or exotic gem before absolute
Needed more mass bias the ball has a bunch of flare potential but that mass bias in he thumb is like setting a corvette to only do 70mph
Or with it being 0.020 you have to be careful not to make the ball just flare way too much. Fine margins
I always do it in the thumb or right beside the thumb. No need for extra hook. That's the least of my problems lol
My daughter is a backup right handed bowler. She is looking at the absolute. What do you all think.

There's one Professional Bowler, though, that I don't think I would want on my team. This person is an absolute Legend in the Sport of Professional Bowling, but at times has let his temper get the best of him. Sorry to say, but I'm referring to Pete Weber. He is a Classic, and I'm not taking anything away from him...and he's very intense as a Professional Bowler, but that attitude that he displays, at times, can be absolutely unnerving! When you see him throwing his Sunglasses, and breaking them, to me, that's a MAJOR cause for concern.
He has retired from the Mainstream Professional Bowling Circuit, from what I understand, and I truly do wish him all the best. I do not hate Pete Weber. Let that be known publicly, by yours truly. It's just that temper. It can be scary, at times!
Even at that, I still like the guy.
I've watched Professional Bowling ever since the 1970s, and have seen some Professional Bowling clips, here on CZcams, that dared all the way back to the 1950s.
We've sure come a long ways, since then!

Maybe. As you can see, both Chris and I are right handed power tweeners. Would just be guessing about left handed strokers.
I have a raw hammer burn.. yes I know it's old haha still does 250s tho!. but anyways whats the best upgrade?? I wanna get the phaze 5.. I'm a left. 200 pounds and 6'3. my burn is 16 pounds. it doesn't bother me. should I stick with 16 or drop to 15?? and what's the best ball! thanks!
Don’t change what’s not broken. If you like the 16lbs stick with it. There are a lot of options for soemthing stronger than raw burn.

No not really. Torrent was high rg symmetrical solid. This is an asymmetrical pearl. I would think hyped solid would be the torrent equivalent right now
Nice ball review but I liked your old camera angle better where the camera was farther back……(like you did with the Night Road ball review)
Most people said they preferred seeing more of the ball going down the lane… kinda gotta please the masses I’m sorry. Maybe try to incorporate a mixture going forwards

Compared to the Astro, exotic & crux pearl , how does it stack up?
Well it is compared to the exotic in the video…. Impossible to really compare to crux Pearl now, that ball is about 7 years old. Early and smoother than astro.
I seen one person compare it to the UC2 seemed pretty close. Chris so I'm noticing most all your balls you do 5-6 mb to pap. What does that achieve for you and for a core in general?
Or are you doing that for review purposes on these videos.
@@brianlevandowski3167 they are nearly always 5-5.5” pins. it keeps the flares tight enough in the front so that the ball doesn’t bleed out before the end of the lane. I found it nowhere close to UC2 but I may have to drill another
Might want to let the mechanic know he needs to do some deck adjustments on 28. As a pinsetter mechanic this video killed me. I'd start with Deck cable adjustment and deck level.
Might want to check deck rollers and spotting fingers as well.

Unfortunately neither Chris or I have a Dark Code at the moment. We see the dark code and cleaner and quite a bit more off the spot than absolute

Hah yikes, yea there was definitely a hang puddle out there on a few shots. The core revved up and the cover was just like, 'Nah, let's hit the 3 dead on in the face'...
